Don't call it spoiler free if you show so much late game material

It is interesting that they gave so many options to change the games difficulty as shown below, but didn't go full Celeste with an Assist mode that allows you to adjust game speed, having more air dashes, etc. That means that some people are still going to have trouble with the platforming puzzles. Note that there are no trophies associated with difficulty. Also, I'm assuming if you put Parry Difficulty on Easy that the game will feel different as you can stylishly one-shot most enemies that do "shiny" attacks, outside of mini-bosses and bosses. CORRECTION - Just wanted to add that now that I have the full game I can see that there is a full set of Accessibility and Gameplay options, including colorblind options and the ability to completely skip challenging platforming sections. They don't seem to have an option to slow the game down like Celeste, but they have a lot of options. Plus, there are no trophies associated with difficulty. "Each difficulty consists of varying combinations of the following parameters: * Enemy Damage: Controls how much damage enemies deal to the protagonist Sargon. Can be toggled between values of 0.5 to 2. * Enemy Health: Governs enemies' health pools; higher numbers make foes tanky and harder to defeat. Can be toggled between values of 0.1 to 2. * Environmental Damage: Changes the damage taken from environmental hazards like spikes. Can be toggled between values of 0.5 to 2. * Parry Difficulty: Determines how easy it is to parry. Can be toggled between Easy, Normal, and Hard. * Dodge Window: Decides the invulnerability period when dodging. Can be either Long or Normal. * Athra Depletion Rate: Athra is the resource used to perform special attacks. Taking damage depletes it. This option allows controlling how fast it ticks down or alternately not causing the gauge to deplete at all. Pick between Off, Slow, Normal, Fast, and Very Fast. * Athra Gain: Only available under the Custom difficulty setting. Controls how fast Sargon gains Athra by performing actions. Can be toggled between the values 0.5 to 2."

Great review! This game has one the most perfect balance of "I can't go through that area now" and "I can go through that area now!" I've ever seen. Compare to games like the new GOW, that you pass every second through some shiny thing that you dont know how to unlock yet, which is always interesting as an exploring mechanic, but might end up very frustrating when you only have one other way to progress. This new POP is just perfect on that, always engaging me to go back to where I've been but always rewarding me to go forward. Simply amazing

Been watching this for a while. Glad it turned out to be a legit game. The art style and gameplay look great.

Honestly, this is probably the best metroidvania ever. Every aspect of the game is so good. Platforming is perfect, just like Hollow Knight (maybe even better than HK?) and combat is more fun than HK. HK is more inspired by Soul-like's where as POP:TLC is more classic, I like that better, normal difficulty were hard enough, where in HK there is no difficultly option and found some of the bosses impossible to beat. You need to play this.

After finding you from Remnant 2, grew to respect your reviews. Being a huge PoP fan since the initial first installment of the genre back in SNES in 92 (since the age of 4) and being disappointed with Forgotten Sand's, Prince of Persia, and the reboot of Sand's of Time in the later years, I've been extremely skeptical. Heck when I saw the Prince in the trailers at a glance I really wasn't feeling the style of the prince since I felt they were going with this teen pop culture look for what I thought was the prince. Glad to be wrong and I eat those assumptions. Made a believer out of me and will be checking this game out. Just usually anything Ubisoft related has not inspired a lot of confidence as of late. But being a fan of Hollow Knight and the original PoP, sign me up.

Did the version you played have DRM?

Actually, like what they did with the cartoony graphics looks pretty cool remind me of classic games on the super Nintendo I like donkey Kong and super Mario, Yoshi’s Island, etc.

I keep refreshing the eshop to download the demo. Not there yet…. Edit: it’s there! Demo here I come!

This game just feels so good to play. Just crazy smooth and responsive. All around fun game.

Would love to give the first ever good Ubisoft game in like 5 years a try but until it hits Steam, it’s a no buy from me. This kind of game would be incredible for the Steam Deck and for that reason I will wait.

I’m not a fan of side scrollers, but this looks pretty good. I would have preferred a fast paced 3rd person,action adventure open world game, but I’ll probably pick this up at some point. Thanks for the review.

How did you beat the game already? Is the game short?

I pre ordered this on the Eshop. My mom is going into the hospital hopefully for an office procedure but in case she needs to be admitted I decided to do the pre order on the Eshop. I played the demo while I was sick with that virus a few days ago. The kids have boosted my self esteem so if I am actually feeling better I will become way more AMAZING and I'll obliterate this game.

Thank you for making sure I did not make the mistake of buying this game. I like exploration, puzzles and combat, but I really hate games that have very difficult platforming as I find platforming an annoying inconvenience at best. I am sure many players will have a blast with this game but it will not be for me.

the game looks great..the Prince looks like Garbage..don't like his look at all...shame we don't have different Skins or at least a Charakter Creator...

Honestly game looks good but who in there right mind would spend $50+ on a 12 hour game that has to be played on the garbage ubisoft launcher with all of ubisofts anti consumer bull. As much as I loved the old Prince of Persia games and metroidvanias Il be skipping this unless to comes to steam with a huge discount at some point.

As a huge fan of prince of persia, im going to pass on this. After what ubisoft did with sands of time remake and their anti-consumer stance. Also not playing as the prince is dumb. Glad you enjoyed it

I played the demo and I liked it. However, this game is a straight pass for me. There are TOO many games that I want to play. Maybe, I'll play this game in the far far future, but for right now, it's a pass.

Damn that platforming compared to Celeste is where you lost me. That game was terrible platformer.
