Pickpocketing is common in Italy and especially in Venice. Well I got pickpocketed on the train coming into Venice, Italy. The train ride was only 10 minutes but that was more than enough time to be robbed on the train. 4 tickets which costs under 2 euros each resulted in a fee of 30 euros per ticket.

Your rant is justified. To lose that amount of money for a common mistake.

Read your ticket… there is a train number .. exactly like there is a flight number.

Here is someone else who knows Alejandro 'the Pickpocket'! The point is, I highly doubt he targets everyone using the same criteria. He chooses his targets carefully. The city's issues with tourism are well-documented. There needs to be a solution to protect the everyday lives of the locals. However, since the city opened itself to tourism for its own benefit, it should at least treat all tourists to the same standards. Your video perfectly captures this perspective. Thanks, Roman.

Sorry this happened to you. I had an incident on a monorail train in dubai because I took a sip of water to take medication and some bitch officer 👮 took me off the train and fined me also a lot money regardless of why I had to take a sip of water. No drinking or eating on the metros there. Thanks for the heads up about the trains in Italy.

omg. So Italy isn't the only place with crazy strict rules. I would definitely not expect to get into trouble if I had one sip of water. That's intense...

@@romanlillie yes I was furious and she took me off and down to an office. To me it seemed like a bribe and I was a target. Normally the Emiratis are very accommodating and compassionate.

Sorry for that. But, as filmed 3:40” , there’s plenty of train and station staff to ask about before boarding.

@@romanlillie I would like to point out that here in Italy regional trains as well as local and city buses operate under the umbrella of Regional Government which heavily funds the system allowing maintaining low and affordable fares. The networks operate a proof-of-payment collection system where he traveller must validly with a timestamp the prepaid ticket (or perform the self check in o the app or tag the bank card in tap&go readers). Travelling without a valid ticket is, thus, a violation of a regional administrative law and involves the issue of a fine which is a mandatory action of the official who perform the ticket control. No discussion. But You may recurr within 60 days to a justice of peace. Someone may perceive that it’s a scam. It is not. It is the law. Different Country, different system. Let me add a comparison with a similar system overseas: NJTransit NJTransit light rail has a similar proof of payment system. Fine for fare dodgers is $100

Buon turismo Karen... scusa... Roman!
