@Shawn2ndaccount3 ай бұрын
Truth be told 95% of the youtubers who's channel have "overlander", "nomad" think Utah and Colorado are the only places to overland and poof because they put those two magical words in their title it makes them an overlander. Also, all these "overlander " KZfaqrs are either weekend worrier who have no idea what they are doing or even talking about or they soley try to sell you crap at ridiculous prices that you don't need to travel the world. These are the same people who received this junk free to get sponsers, must do a review on it in a week, then pass on cheap discount code and then they get to keep the junk. Junk they know nothing about in a weekbut it brings them money. I've been full-time for years and am currently heading to Argentina, I only watch full-time world overlanders because they know what it's like and what it's all about.

You have to compensate for the altitude's effect on the water temp for eggs. So where I live, 15 minutes min for a hard boiled. At a few meters higher I would just go 20. Nice job on the alta. Stunning.

Hey, scientist here with a little health info. Lakes and hot springs in the Andean region can sometimes contain lots of arsenic, which is toxic and can cause cancer and other serious health problems in the long run. Something to keep in mind before bathing in hotsprings or washing cooking utensils in these waters. Sadly, there is no way of telling if/how much arsenic a body of water may contain (other than laboratory testing), and presence of algae/flamingos and other wildlife in or around the water is not an indicator. Arsenic also can't be washed off with water. I enjoyed watching your trip, but seeing you bath in the hotspring made me quite concerned. So I just wanted to put out this info for you and anyone else travelling through that beautiful area. Stay safe!
@jdraDaniel2 ай бұрын
This information you gave is interesting. Thanks for sharing. Fortunately, these hot springs (Termas los hornos) can be used by us without putting our health at risk.

Great spot, and videography. That's exactly what Bolivia looks like, I did the 4 day 4WD into the geyser's, Uyuni Salt Flats, volcanoes, red/blue/turquoise/salt lakes, over 5,000m altitude, flamingoes, all types of wildlife, desert, hot springs it's spectacular. Also loved Argentina and Chile, and Antarctica is a must while you're there.

Stunnig video. Inspirational. Your journey looks like something very close to “into the wild”. I really love it. I’m Italian and I’m 55 years old, 7 kids, and I travelled on my bike, then on my motorbike,and sometimes with a sailboat.. But I’m still dreaming and my next dream is travel with a Rv around the world. I’m still young, and my last boat is named “Peter Pan”. Thanks a lot to take us with you. God bless you. And…… buona strada.

We all learn the hard way. Travel with new coil/ spark plug wires. Pack up two universal joints. Those mechanics that are a must. For assurances replace prior to trip and package the rest😊

You are champions! Carry heat when possible most countries will rent you guns, get military weapons let dealer teach you. There are many threats some not from this world! Retired Nuke Engineer 78 yrs in Hospice care you must protect your wife and yourself. I hid my weapon. Bribes work also coming in! Do this before entering. Sometimes you can’t but I grew up in the 60’s violent but countries respected us. No longer true because of the immortality of our politicians 😥
@joeoneal15013 ай бұрын
This was an incredible video, had me a little anxious at times with the mechanical issues you were having, as I've experienced similar circumstances in my adventures . I can only imagine what you were feeling as events were happening. Your solutions show the value of having an intimate knowledge of your equipment. I especially loved how you MacGivered the spark plug wires. And when you boiled the egg I was thinking that it would take a while for it to cook since water boils at a much lower temperature at 13,000 feet.(188 F) The look on your face when you cracked it open was priceless! Safe travels to you guys, I'm looking forward to your next one.
