Legendary Motorcar builds a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda on Dodge Viper underpinnings with a 1000+ HP twin turbo Viper engine and 18x11/19x13 Forgeline ZX3R wheels. They take it to the test track and go up against a Ferrari Enzo at over 208 MPH! Learn more about the Forgeline ZX3R at: www.forgeline.c...

A bit of education for you.....SuperCuda 208 mph in less then 1.56 mile straights on the Chrysler Proving Grounds which the whole track is 4.7 miles. The track the Ford GT40 did it on is the LeMans Grand Prix d' Endurance which is 8.5 mile track with 3.7 mile straights. Now you do the math!!! Education helps a lot!

+Ron Warrick A streamlined racecar went slower than a Cuda, on a much longer track. Wow, that's amazing fucking news.

Hey, that blue 68 Shelby you just did has a big boo boo! The area under the A pillar (where door hinges bolt) is to be body color not black! I know cause the original paint KR in my shop that still has the original asphalt caulking is body color! That will cost some points at a Concours show!

The Superbird ran over 220 mph with a NA motor. Ya, it had a big wing and other aerodynamic goodies.

Definitely! Without the Superbird aero, this car was at its limit.

That cuda is a helluva car, but perhaps a Daytona Charger, or Super bird would be better suited to a build like this due to a better drag coefficient. Although the guy said the aerodynamics and his lack of cojones were to blame for not going pass the 208mph mark.

If the supercuda had 1000 lbs/ft torque instead of 800 lbs/ft, it would easily have blown past 218 mph

Fantastic, but it would be even more impressive it was only a NA big block Hemi engine!! A turbo in a muscle car doesn't match for me as a concept! But then again, hell of a car!!!

Saw this on discovery channel a while ago and now I can't help but to say something. Yes, in a quarter mile drag race anything with tyres and engine big enough will take an european supercar, but the main difference is that europan supercar which cost millions of euros to engineer will do that time and again without overheating, putting duct tape od the grill, blowing an engine or trying to go airborne at 200mph while garage made american muscle cars with stupendously powerful engines which in the end bend the chassis and accelerate the car to speeds inappropriate for their shape will have to sit in the pits for half an hour to cool the turbos down (which happened in this occasion). While we are at aerodynamics take for an example the first Dodge Charger. The man who designed it was obsessed with aerodynamics. The only problem was that he had no knowledge of it whatsoever which resulted in a shape that is completely wrong. Take that into account and european and japanese supercars, due to extensive time spent in wind tunnels and proper suspension, can corner very well. Take a muscle car round a corner and you end up wrapped around a tree if you're not careful. European/Japanese supercars and american muscle are two different worlds which are impossible to compare. Supercuda is a very good example of a muscle car. But it's nothing more than that. End of story.

+Matevz Čubej Blah blah...nobody cares about euro trash junk, which it all is. There's a reason why Hemicudas are worth the same as vintage Ferraris
@Mtli95
@Mtli95 8 жыл бұрын
Firstly, no need for insulting. Like I said above, two different worlds with different priorities. Secondly, prices on the market are based on popularity which is why they may vary over the years. Different cars from the same period of time and same quality can differ in price quite a lot because of that reason. And that's why some cars are expensive as hell. If I recall correctly a Ferrari 250 GTO was sold 5 -10 years ago for a couple of million dollars, two years ago it fetched around 20 million dollars. So saying that one car is worth as much as another isn't really an argument. It's more like a statement. So what? And lastly, plenty of people care about the so called ''euro trash'', simply because it's good.

+Malicious SRT Exports for american market are built to accomodate american standards therefore their quality isn't as high as of those for european market. Also they're pushed to the limit with mpg (fuel prices here are ridiciolous), BHP/liter etc. That's why american cars last longer.(big block, low Mpg, low bhp/liter) But things are getting better. Anyway, I haven't heard of a BMW going wrong all of the time and japanese cars are well known for doing 200.000 miles without changing a lightbulb, so to speak. But I cannot say anything about built quality of american cars, they're merely impossibile to see on the road around here and having one would mean breaking the bank with insurance fee, road taxes etc.

Cars are not built differently for other markets - nice try.
