I think people don't understand how smart Daniil is. During the last conference he already mentioned how different he is mentally and how he is finally okay with himself. Thinking that he won't come up with some tactics against Sinner is just strange. After losing 3 times in the past he considers this game as the last battle, it's now or never, so he will fight till the end.

Agreed. I bet you Sascha Zverev knows how smart he is! Lol. Sascha put up a great fight, though. He is no dunce out there, for sure. I'm happy for him that he's absolutely ensconced in the discussion of Grand Slam favorites at this point .... Eh, but then again, this last defeat laid yet one more THICK layer of scar tissue onto him :/

We all know how intelligent Daniil is, but Sinner has a mental serenity that reminds me of Rybakina. Best of luck in the finals to both of them, they are not only great players but also great as persons. Well deserved GS Final for both of them, they both beat the best players to reach the finals.

Sinner has no weakness other than his fitness which has improved.Reminds me of young Novak who was weak mentally and physically and had troubles with his serve which he resolved.Sinner's also resolved his serve. If these guys think Sinner will win,I'm backing Sinner to go the distance and win.

People are evaluating ,based only on tennis. But the best of 5 setters, are way more than that, they are so much about mental aspects where Medvedev will have equality and maybe a slight edge.. that's how he defeated Zeverve as the tennis at their level is almost similar

I WAS rooting for Sascha Zverev, big time! But actually Medvedev is my second favorite of the four semifinalists and I would love to see him win the trophy. I certainly wouldn't MIND seeing Jannik winning it! - he is a super good guy - but he's kinda bland, to say the least. Not much to inspire me to root for him from the heart. ... I do, however, believe Jannik is the favorite. He has what it takes to be an absolute monster on the tennis court. He DESTROYED Djokovic, and it wasn't because Novak had "the worst match of his Grand slam career," as Novak put it. He was able to play his best - and he won the third set (no small feat! against Jannik this AO) - but he wasn't able to maintain such a high level for the next set. Jannik ... IS JUST TOO GOOD. He was good enough even to beat Djokovic at Wimbledon last time they played, absolutely! But he was simply too wet behind the ears. Not anymore. I would honestly love to see him thrash Novak again in a Major. Bet you a hundred dollars Novak would rather bow out a round before meeting him than take the beating everyone knows he will get. Lol.

I am going with Meddy because of his mindset and him knowing it's his best opportunity to win this title. However, I do concede that Meddy spent more time and energy in the court so he must be very tired compared to Sinner who just lost one set throughout the tournament.

how are they disrespecting him. They were talking great about his game. When they talked about others the topic was completely different. The only thing is that they said Sinner would win in 4, which, is looking very likely, Sinner is simply in better form, better condition physically, mentally so strong as shown with djokovic, or coming back from 5-1 in tiebreak etc...

@@SniP3rHavOk And Medvedev coming back from two sets down (twice!) and winning 3 five setters doesn’t show any mental strength then? He might be tired physically and that might play in Sinner’s advantage but to completely ignore that and instead talk about Alcaraz, Rune, Tsitsipas, Zverev (and then only, mention Medvedev in that discussion) was rather wtf to me at least.

I understand and respect that Medvedev is the more experienced player but their last 3 meetings have been in the final (Beijing and Vienna) and semi final (ATP Finals) stages of tournament s and Sinner won all three. Medvedev has the upper hand but he's yet to win against the post US Open Sinner. Plus Sinner's a lot fresher, I reckon the 3rd set will be crucial in this match because this has been Sinner's weakness in Grandslams, he's yet to play one in this tournament and Medvedev is a fighter

Carlos played very well against Nole last Wimbledon, red hot then form is a thing and players have ups and downs in tournaments and spanning a season... media plays up everything and want to ride the wave .. mettle of a player is determined by growth, consistency and longevity ... winning 1-2 slams is a big deal but having a long and fruitful career takes evolution... nice to see new talent but to compare them to greats is a bit pre mature and naive... greats don't become greats they evolve into it... it would be nice if tennis brains of Danil tries to upset the fast , rapid and foreceful rhythm of sinner... Sinner in his rhythm with power shots seems hard to handle but the game has always had big booming servers and heavy hitters not all have gone the distance...and with Nole it is amazing how a few losses people forget what he accomplished last year.. and treat this like a first round exit .. but such is the aura and formidability of brand Nole... which took years to build ...

And he was not accurate regarding the CYGS, but anyway, Sinner was playing the best during the tournament, so yes, why not him? Sinner is closing the gap on the H2H against Medvedev.
