In this video, you can learn how to tighten the Legion Go memory timings to gain free performance uplift in many scenarios, this can be easily set by using the SMOKELESS tool but needs to be set manually to hit the sweet spot and may differ from my settings for the SPD and non-SPD.
Please do it at your own RISK, what worked for my unit may not work for everyone.
Thanks for watching.

Great video as always!!!! It gives me the sensation that all the system reacts better because it's the similar problem with the C-state for the CPU, to be so much conservative on consumptions it's gives the problems on drop down so much the kind of "idle" state during the operation of the system.

Running at lower watt tdp will break your timings in some games so it isnt very stable or performant unless always gunning for max performance (full power) vs max battery life. For example your test scores will drop at 7500MT Running at 15W TDP vs doing the same at 6400MT @15W.
@TECHOSAUR
@TECHOSAUR 4 ай бұрын
A lower TDP won't break timings. If it's stable at 30W, it's stable anywhere. It's not a matter of power there. I made a video today for the 6400 as well, and I was able to tighten it more given its lower memory speed. I also compared it against the 7500 in three different setups: 15W, 20W, and 30W. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eLGRlNKrtMe7qnk.htmlsi=XzTqQH7P2J4zJCUy It's stable all time with both configurations, It took me days of trial and error.

@TECHOSAUR
@TECHOSAUR 5 күн бұрын
I suggest you recheck the timings and try loosening them. I think you should make sure it's stable with the SPD, then once you are sure, move on to the non-SPD ones, you get most of gains while doing the main SPD

So I have hynix ram, and everything i read online is saying when it comes to DDR5 hynix overclocks better than samsung, some post saying avoid Samsung DDR5 overclocking...? Wondering if I should go through with this I have hynix but I have no guide, and i really don't wanna risk days of getting this thing to come back to life
@TECHOSAUR
@TECHOSAUR 20 күн бұрын
it's not overclocking frequency, it's still running the same voltage and power consumption. We are just asking it to reduce its operating timing under read, write, and copy processes, which could help to gain some free performance in situations when memory plays a role. I think you shouldn't look at which brand gets overclocked more but which one can sustain tighter timings under frequency. And as far as I'm aware, Samsung memory dies are good for tightening the timings.

Try with the SPD timings. Only adjust one value at a time. When you notice it’s not working, increase it until it stops giving any errors. Then, move on to the next one. However, keep non-SPD to auto and start with SPD. It also took me days to find my unit’s sweet spot. There’s no way to calculate which ones to insert, at least that I’m aware of. All you can do is trial and error. I just note all my working values until I reach the end. But the good thing is that by using the BIOS self-heal feature, you minimize the times you have to remove the battery cable to reset timings. Just check the important Tips section in this video. I show how i did it in the shortest amount of time.

I'll probably try this once they finally ship out the newest BIOS with complete TDP fixes. Is it easy to revert back to base timings or is it worth writing them down ahead of time? I saw a RESET button in the vid, just not sure if it's something that works lol. Edit: Nvm you call out that loading default settings reverts back as expected. Thanks.

Hi;I have done something similar to this from another video for upping the wattage to 60w using smokeless but everything seemed to revert on next reboot without the usb flash plugged in is there a way to keep these settings permanently between bios updates? Or does the settings stay without having to flash smokeless?
@TECHOSAUR

I usually set it like this on smokeless and then use the g-helper app in Windows and apply the same wattage I've set in smokeless. It usually stays that way for me. If I use both, you don't need to have the USB connected.

Booting to Windows is a first pass for stability, but sometimes instability may not show symptoms unless you are doing some workload. For example, in gaming, you may get a BSOD or tests showing errors. Be careful mostly with the non-SPD, they're tricky. Focus on SPD initially, and once you are sure it's working well, do a benchmark to check if performance has gotten better. Non-SPD wrong values will cause worse performance, so modify them one by one and check performance. If you see it worsening, then increase the timing by one value.

But it was worth it, the minimum fps values are much more stable, and in general I do not have jerks even in scenes Loaded with a lot of action, my average fps has gone from 58fps to 63fps, sometimes touching 75fps, simply wonderful.
