I was torn in how I approached this one! I was worried the vid would be too long, but I didn't want it to feel rushed, then I went longer than I wanted, then I edited more aggressively than usual 😆 I think an ideal length would have been about 14-15 mins so just a little shorter. Let me know what you think of the pacing.

I used to own the minifig scale one, which was fine for what it was, totally acceptable, but a bigger version certainly shows a lot more details, I really like this set! I built this up to the roof. Everything worked perfectly. The seat ejected, and the steering wheel/tires worked. BUT I was one stud too many on the body to make the roof fit. Dark interiors can be a problem with showing people some sections of Lego models, whether on video, at a show, or even just showing a friend a model at home. Models that have removable sections for illumination (and play) are generally superior to those that don't, IMHO. But some great models do end up with dark sections. In situations where removing things isn't an option, and a more permanent light setup for a particular model doesn't make sense, you probably can come up with some sort of probe (with a movable LED or LED array on the end or a strip-on-a-stick with multiple LEDs) to help with showing dark interiors (such as the driver's compartment of this vehicle, or engine details on a lot of models) without obscuring too much detail. Insert the probe to illuminate the dark section, remove it when the audience is finished looking. A small enough probe should provide illumination without compromising the audience's view of the interior. I would think folks that do a lot with models would have figured out some standard ways of doing this by now, since disassembling things isn't always convenient. You might be able to ask around. Things that work well in-person might not work as well with a camera. If this isn't a problem that is already solved, I think there are quite a few modern options worth investigating. For example, I've seen some inexpensive flexible magnetic pick-up tools with LEDs on the end that might be useful to solve this problem. Or you might be able to build something inexpensive using LED tape/strip/rope lights. They even have LEDs for use in clothing these days - you might be able to tuck some flexible LED 'cloth' into the model or just wrap some around a stick/probe of some kind and fasten them somehow (maybe tape or rubber bands or knotted strings) to the probe in order to let you add light when desired on a temporary basis. It feels like there are enough inexpensive possibilities out there that you could come up with something that would work well for your use case - giving good illumination in the studio while not obscuring too much of the view. In the case of this car, you might be able to wrap some custom 'LED clothing' around a mini-figure, putting the figure in one of the seats to provide temporary illumination, securing the clothing in some fashion as if it was actual mini-figure clothing. I have some big LED light arrays for my plants that use a mix of colors to better approximate natural light, so it occurs to me that maybe a mix of LED colors would make sense here as well. I've seen multi-color LED strip lights advertised. Maybe a combination of yellow and white would work well? Seems like it would take some experimentation to see what works best in the studio with your specific camera equipment and existing lighting. Another possibility is to see if you can use a really bright work or craft light that can throw enough light into the interior past the camera or the audience (from behind), just turning it on for your audience to see some specific interior details, and then turning it off (otherwise it would probably wash out things and distort colors). These days work/craft lights are often built with large LED arrays and they can be extremely bright. Some of them have a mix of colors to better approximate daylight. Another type of light that might work 'from behind' or 'from off-stage' to send light into the studio without taking up visible space would be the kind of smaller super-bright 'spot lights' people use to help find lost small objects on the floor (which any serious Lego builder should have anyway!). This approach might have issues with shadows, which is why I think being able to insert lights into the model on a temporary basis is probably a better solution. If you know how to do electrical stuff, you could build your own custom 'light probe' or 'light bar' from some inexpensive parts. There are really tiny LEDs that you can get (from places like Digi-Key) that still produce quite a bit of light. If you ever had one of those hobby electronics kits for kids, then you might remember that hooking up standard LEDs is pretty simple. Some of the available options today are a lot smaller than what came with those kits - small even by the standards of mini-figures - using these would probably require magnified glasses, tweezers, and good solder skills (lots of practice!) - not a task for kids without supervision but certainly something adults can do with a bit of practice (and attention to safety, soldering is probably best done outside and with a mask). Another possibility for a flexible light source might be something based on fiber optics, running the fibers into the model to deliver light, then just pulling them out when done. Here you would want to use the soft plastic fibers, not glass ones, for safety.

Great video Jang! The pacing felt good, but I do wonder if you do multiple takes to get these reviews within certain time limits, if you time out your script beforehand, etc. As a huge fan of late 50s-early 60s cars, I might have to get this purely for the car design. Isn’t the striped piece in the middle of the light bar a old classic space piece?

I personally like the rust stickers as it makes it look like someone converted an old car to be a "Ghost Busting" car. Though I had a friend who had a Cadillac that was an older style and it had rust spots on it, so maybe that is why I liked the stickers? I am not really a huge fan of "Ghostbusters" be it old or new, so the authenticity of it doesn't bother me. I have the seat facing the back that moves out and I know I made extra sure to follow the instructions carefully when doing that section. It works great.
