I'm surprised by the new glasses frame piece for Harry Potter's glasses. I wonder what other uses people will come up with for that piece. This was a really fun review to watch!

That Hedwig looks incredible. Would definetly buy it as a stand alone set. Will pass on this one though as it's quite expensive in Brazil and I don't really care about the rest of the set.

I’m very on the fence with this set. Hedwig looks fantastic and a big draw. The potion bottles are super cool and I could certainly see those used in lots of other ways. The rest of the set, not sure. Also, after the typewriter and mickey and Minnie buildable figs I’m running out of space on my table top!

I rarely purchase Harry Potter sets. I've only purchased the Hogwarts Castle and Diagon Alley...but this is one I'm getting for sure. What a beautiful set!

Indeed, I'll take those bottles minus the stupid designer's personal references and the owl alone. The rest can be left out and the price reduced.

I really enjoyed your video. I think display cases are the biggest obstacle to buying sets like this. Do you like the ikea display bookcases and stands for large Lego sets?

I have to be honest, I’m not a die hard Harry Potter fan but this set looks amazing. Easily in the top 5 builds of the year for me. Update comment: Why couldn’t they print fixed stickers? Then you could place over the top if you wanted. (Or maybe they do and you have to ask for them).

Good review! I really like how you saw some of the same missed opportunities as me (a Harry Potter fan). I also missed the stickers for the books, I might add my own. I also loved the elixir bottles, so LEGO customer service helped me create two more - Draught of Living Death, and Amortentia with black and pink round dots and own stickers - highly recommend. An elixir set could be fun ;) It fun to hear the thought of a previous LEGO designer - keep up the good work :D

I’m not into Harry Potter, but this is so beautiful that I want to make a “mega version”, being all four houses in the stacked books, all golden mini figs, all house scarfs (turning Easter eggs into features), potion shelves and so on. Will it cost a lot? Yeah. Will that stop me from trying to design it on my pc? Hell no!

I am glad to hear that about Hedwig. The smaller Hedwig and Fawkes builds are super fragile in my experience, so I was hesitant to buy this even though it looks so cool!

I'm looking at this set just for the owl ontop of the books as a display piece in my library. I'd leave out the Harry Potter letter and potions and probably expose the frame where the potion box sits, but perhaps the spare parts I create could be adapted somehow?

I bought this for my mother-in-law (56 yrs old) this past Christmas. It was a wild shot, & wasn't sure if she would enjoy putting it together or think it was a fun display piece! I did this against her daughter who said she would hate it, but needless to say. She loved it & put it together over the course of a month. Doing one / maybe 2 bags a day! She now wants the Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle set.

I don't display a lot of them, they eventually end up in pieces for me to use in MOCs. If I did clean them, I would use a big soft brush

You can perform magic with the wand, you just need to buy the LEGO Magic Functions motor and power pack. Unicorn horn, phoenix feathers and eye of newt not included.

Hm... hard choice! They're both amazing builds. I would say maybe get the castle first as it will for sure retire earlier than this one, and then, buy this one!

I don't think the glasses need fixing anymore once he's in the Wizarding world, as anyone with a wand can fix them. I don't remember if it's said the glasses get fixed in book 1 but they definitely get fixed by Hermione in the film. "Spellotape" is seen later to fix Ron's wand though.

Hi Tiago, I have a request... I began with Lego a year ago as some kind of physical therapy after a bicycle accident and I don't buy sets (with two exceptions), I am ordering standard stones at Lego directly. I really like to built with standard stones like 3001 and 3003, the limitations makes me think. You have quite a collection and probably every exotic piece somewhere in the drawer, but I would be super grateful for a video, where you give some advise, which basic stones are the most important if you want to built freely.

I don't think I would ever do a dedicated video on that as I don't usually build using only regular bricks. But I feel the 2x bricks would be my go to choice. 2x2 2x3 2x4 and maybe 2x2 corner bricks, and then maybe some of the 1x ones like 1x1 1x2 1x3 and 1x4s to start things of? Sorry that I can't be of any more help

Shit. I came across this set by chance and decided to look it up on KZfaq. Great video but now I really want it - although it's currently sold out in the UK in most places so would have to wait for a restock. I wonder if with a restock they'll fix the issues? It's also painfully expensive for a non-LEGO fan and even as someone who's only a casual HP fan...

So it’s cost more than 200 in the US? Me and my uncle and ant are geeks about lego Harry Potter and I think we mite get this but it depends on the price.
