Good for a Smaug. Bigger than the moulded one at least. The way it looks while on all fours reminds me a lot of the Game of Thrones dragons too.

Fun Fact: The Dragon's name is Flame. He was featured in only 2 seasons, a 2019 short, and the pilot. (counting the Ultra Dragon). His skull was used as a throne by the iron Baron.

Especially a cole dragon….we always get an electric or fire dragon and sometimes ice but never earth

@@ForeignBrick yeah, and the ones we did get weren't that great, 2011 one didn't have wings and the 2016 one was too small, not sure if that from dragon pit counts, but still is a little small (bigger than 2016 tho) and then we had no other one

I definitely love that two piece head design for the dragon, the old elemental dragons are super nostalgic to me so seeing them look so familiar but so fresh is awesome

It into an actual argument with my best friend over this. All of these creatures are dragons. Dragon is umbrella term. Wyverns are dragons, drakes are dragons, wyrms are dragons.

From what i understand, dragons that looks like wyverns are called wyrms. And wyverns are not really dragons. They are much smaller and have no breath attack.

Same head, but no. This is Flame. That dragon has different abilities than any we’ve seen before as it disappears into smoke. That dragon isn’t one we know

Why do people argue that wyverns aren’t dragons? None of the living animals we call “dragons” have wings, so the only requirement for a dragon is to be a reptile.

@@cyber_dragon_123 well of a dragon is any reptile, then a t rex is a dragon. And as we all known, the domestic chicken is the modern day descendant of the t rex, ergo a chicken is a dragon.

I think this problem of Wyvern ≠ dragon comes from Monster Hunter franchise, I havent seen in any other media this distinction. So perhaps the people that argue Wyverns ≠ dragons are just messed up MH fans that doesnt realize that aside from MH franchise every where else they mean the same.

I love ninjago theme just for their mechs and dragons. This one looks good but as you say its articulation is a bit lacking. A few small mods would do it well, I have plenty of the mixel joints so can make some mods. I wish we could get the mixel joints in different colours though.

Yay... this is my favourite style of wing fabric! I also like that we finally have a wyvern style dragon whose wing-arms can actually be used as proper posable legs for the dragon.

One of the most satisfying dragon builds that Lego has ever made. Articulation for poses, a nice aggressive look, and massive amounts of detail (my favourites are the pectoral scales and the black spines on its back).

Articulation is disappointing, but it looks awesome. Those wings are perfect for demon Bionicle MOCs. I'm eagerly awaiting an Ice Dragon remake with actual wings like this one.

If you swap the shoulder ratchets from wing to shoulder and vise versa you might get more range options

Interesting. I might get this set but I will be modifying it and changing some of its parts such as the Bionicle-like parts on the hands and also add some joints for the legs. I won't be adding the stickers since they wear off or something

It’s awesome to see those CCBS versions of mata hands (I could be wrong but I think they were their first) in this set it’s just sorta cool I guess even thought their probably won’t be constraction sets again some parts are still getting released which is awesome

I wanted the og set so badly when it originally came out when I was younger, so I wish it was closer to the original in terms of looks and such due to nostalgia. Im on the fence about this set but I'm glad it's being re-released at least.

I think a lot of the problems with the wing articulation could be solved using the large ball joints instead of those ratchets, introducing one of those friction extenders as well if needed.

I love this set it's amazing only issue I have with the set is the wings sometimes fall down or droop down because the weight. But overall good value and looks amazing

So glad we got head molds again ! The brick built heads look nice but they just can't replace the og rubber-y head molds. The new ones look so similar while being a good upgrade.

was really interested in the dragon build for this but didnt really care about the minifig. managed to get it for £18 cheaper without the box or minfigs so I'm real happy

Some things about the way it's built remind me a lot of a pterosaur! The torso proportions especially- it would make a lot of sense for such a large flying animal to have heavy chest muscles- but also the length of the "arms" and the fact you can both fold the wings and posture it so that it's basically upright but still on all fours. I'm gonna be honest, I thought this thing looked weird as heck when I first saw it, but while seeing it in more detail has definitely given me a better appreciation for it, the lack of good articulation is still kind of a deal breaker. Definitely gonna try to get my hands on that golden Nya via bricklink.

The Overlord Dragon should be the template for lego dragons. The articulation was perfect, just needed fabric/better wings.

Wish they had used a brown or black color for the ninja's armor/sheath. The original ninja molds were so simple in their coloring, no crazy highlights just some cool looking robes.

How does the size of the head look compared to the rest of the body? I like this dragon's look, but I wondered whether his head feels small compared to the rest of him, particularly those big wings. Does it look disproportionate in person?

My only complaint is how inconsistent it is with the Legacy Golden Dragon. Both took a completely different approach at translating the G1 versions. Kinda hope we'll get a redo of the Golden Dragon to fit this style. Also very curious how they're ever gonna do the Earth Dragon with the modern headpieces that are wayyyy smaller than the originals. I think the Fire Dragon works with a small head, although barely. But the Earth Dragon would look ridiculous with a tiny head. Maybe they'll make the it a $25 set to not make the head too disproportionately small to the body?

Love the dragon facts at the start but actually there was an official dragon that was also a dinosaur called Yi Qi. Because of it's bone structure and positioning it counts as a dragon. There is also a snake which can glide. In the future this could adapt to have wings so it can have more control which would be a chinese dragon

I bought it a qhile ago and the only Problem i can think of isnthat over time the wing joints weaken and any possiblity of this thing hanging from a cealing in a flying pose die with it
