It's actually a reference to the Mario & Sonic in the Olympic Games series whenever Sonic is picked for swimming. He, very amusingly, wears an orange life jacket.

Realy the potential they have is great. So manny games and shows to draw from and I love the imaginitive builds. Lego does have a thing for lisence theme sets that can be inacurate like the hulk hellecopter but that's not always bad and I like how sonic is going and the minifigures with molded heads are great

Shadow not only is gonna be in Sonic 3, but he’s also getting his own side-game in an upcoming rerelease of Sonic Generations, hence 2024 being dubbed The Year of Shadow!

The best one is Knuckles’ shrine. Not only great to have a variant of Knuckles, Angel Island, compatible with the Master Emerald pedestal, but the fact that LEGO acknowledges Knuckles’ love of grapes (Chef’s kiss)

I agree with all of you... since they almost finished team dark, including Shadow and Rouge, they should start building e1234 omega as well... and since they have made amy for a few years... they should start making cream the rabbit and big the cat, and since they've made knuckles, they should start making tikal, and they still have to start making team dimensions and team chaotix, or even better yet they should make a set based on shadow's origin story and add shadow in a chamber, Maria robotnik, Gerald robotnik and Dr eggman... would that be a great list of characters to make?

I’m wondering what the potential next wave will introduce in terms of characters. I’m only going to guess that Sega won’t allow IDW characters to get minifigures

They have enough tp last them a while. Metal Sonic, Silver, Blaze, the Babylon Rogues, Fang, Mighty, Ray, Cream, Big, Omega, Orbot, Sticks, Lost Pepper of Claggerhorn, etc.

I will definitely get the shrine set since I love sets of places and I'll get the drillster set, because of Super Sonic, but also because I didn't get either of the two sets with Eggman from the first line since one was too big and the other seemed too expensive for what it was.

Looks like you can take the removable part of the egg drillster and swap it with the top part of the mech in the green hill zone loop challenge set

I am absolutely getting the super sonic vs eggman drillster and the master emerald shrine! I think next year for the January wave they should make a super shadow and for the winter wave a silver minifigure and for 2026 the first wave of sonic sets should have a big set which has an exclusive super silver with super sonic and super shadow in it to have a type of Sonic 06 final battle.

I’ve noticed it a few months ago with some of the recent Marvel mechs. They just use that awkwardly bent “hinge” piece and build around it, probably to save pieces. I get knees on bigger mechs, stability and all that, but the elbows too? It’s depressing.

Eh kinda. The bigger mechs have been getting hella better but the smaller mechs have been getting hella worse. Ever since they started using that ninjago piece for limbs

@@Loadingz... EXACTLY! I like the Kai Evo Motorcycle Mech, but the limbs suck. I tried to upgrade it with the Lego Galador ratchets.

@@krimsonklaww611 I get no knees for smaller mechs as past mechs over time the joints get worn out. So they can only put all there effort for the bigger ones which are great. But no elbows really bugs me as it limits the mech for no reason

The Egg Robo is a lot bigger than lots of fan versions but it's still cool! Also, when only the names were revealed i thought that the Egg Drillster would be heavily inspired by the drill from Sonic 2 but it's not bad with those colors. I hope the next wave brings Metal/Mecha Sonic since Dimensions showed us you can make them look good without new molds

Really bummed that they didn’t have the emerald in the shrine. I put off buying the first set because of the rumor of this set and I’m not a fan of mechs. This was the exact set I was hoping it would be! I just needed a ME and Rouge. At least now I’ll be getting Amy so I won’t have to buy that $50 or $100 set.

Regarding the Knuckles and the Master Emerald Shrine set, I like the fact that you're getting two pieces/halves of a whole set for the same price. You have the mech + emerald for $35, then you have the shrine for $35, and you can end up combing the two. Though I have to ask, how would you feel if for the next seven sets, they were to add pillar builds?

While I understand why the Egg Pawn is red, I see this as a blessing in disguise, because Mimic from the IDW comics can turn into a red egg pawn, so I’m displaying that figure next to my stand for him.

8:12 it’s also because Shadow will be featured in a new game as well! It’s a remaster of Sonic Generations, but Shadow will also be playable with his own levels later in Autumn of this year. So we’ll be getting the Sonic Movie 3, a new game featuring Shadow, and I guess LEGO sets with Shadow in them. I guess that makes it the “Year of Shadow” to SEGA. Us Sonic fans are hoping it’s not going to be like the “Year of Luigi” lol.

These are worth waiting for. The supersonic set caught my atention moste for the figures and build. The onelwy figure I have out of that one is Robotnik. The uther two sets havn't caught my atention as much though the robot and build in the master emrald set are good and I may get it at some point. I just wish more figures and not just variants of exsisting figures wer in these. Hopefully lego keeps the theme going and more figures come out.

Since lego and sega made figures of sonic, tails, knuckles, amy, shadow, rouge and dr. eggman they should do super sonic, sliver, big the cat and metal sonic next now that will be really cool and awesome for all of us lego fans and sonic fans.

My thoughts: 1. The Egg Drillster from Sonic 2 makes its return, as does the Egg Pawn from Sonic Heroes and the G.U.N. Beetle from Sonic Adventure 2, all in LEGO form. Jakks-Pacific is doing a good job with their line of Sonic figures thus far, but they still need to take notes from LEGO and add Kiki, the G.U.N. Beetle, and the Egg Pawn to it. 2. Sega needs to make a new party video game akin to the Mario Party series like they did in 2000 with Sonic Shuffle for the Sega Dreamcast. I feel parasailing would make a good 2 Vs. 2 mini-game, with the first player driving the boat and the second player parasailing, collecting rings and gems and avoiding obstacles like debris and seagulls (Mario Party 4 had a similar mini-game called "Pair-a-Sailing"). Also, I like how Sonic's minifigure has a lifejacket on because he cannot swim. And of course, we get Jaws in LEGO form. 3. Egg Robo is back in LEGO form and Knuckles has made himself feel at home at the altar with a punching bag and tons of grapes.
