10 years after it's release, Jabba's Palace (9516) remains one of the best LEGO Star Wars sets of all time. And with the 40th Anniversary of Return Of The Jedi just around the corner, I wanted to take a look at this set up close to show you it's beauty.

2012/2013 was peak Lego. It's a shame that sets from back then are better than most of the sets we're getting today imo.

The playsets were better then but now we get so many amazing UCS sets which as an adult are way more fun to build

@@asc3nded397 true but no matter what the prices are, the sets themselves are just undeniably so much cooler. That being said tho the 2012 jabbas palace was and is one of my all time favorite sets. I bought it at the same time as the palpatines arrest set that came out the same year

on the back of carbonite han, there are two hand grips for the han minifig. He grips tightly into the mold so that you can transport him with relative ease

Really wish I got this set when it came out, I’m glad I got the Rancor Pit and Jabba’s Sail Barge tho

I wish I would have gotten any of those three I remember watching them come and go as an 8-10 year old with no money for what were big sets at the time

Congrats on getting this set Holly, it was my first +500pcs Star Wars set. The minifigures are very beautiful. Consider having special care with the brown plates below the roof, they are very fragile. Away from that detail this is a great adquisition!.

Man I love this set. Picked this up ten years ago when I was 12 and picked up the Rancor Pit the year after. I still have both to this day displayed in my cupboard next to Obi-Wan’s hut and the 2014 and 2020 Mos Eisley Cantinas. I was tempted to purchase the Boba Fett one too last year but decided that my money was better spent elsewhere. Did not realise how expensive those two sets are on the aftermarket.

I bouht this one when it got discounted near the end of its lifecycle. Should have bought a few more considering the increase in value. The Boushh figure was my jam back then.

I love this set. It is to me what Diagon Alley was to you (well, it’s one of a couple sets like that). I appreciate the review, I’ve considered buying it and you talking about it has helped me get closer to making a decision!

The part on the tower door that moves in and out isn't an eye piece or telescope. It's supposed to be the microphone that C3PO used to talk to someone inside the palace to get an audience with Jabba at the beginning of Return of the Jedi.

LOVE this set. I was in my dark ages when it came out so I was pretty excited when I heard a new version was coming out with Boba Fett. Unfortunately, getting Boba’s roofless Palace only made me want this one more, lol. Yeah, I wasn’t as happy with the new one as I hoped I would be.

Great set. I hear they may come out with a diorama in 2023. I hope it’s true. I did buy two of Boba’s Throne Room for $60 USD each at Costco a while back. This allows me to get close to the Palace look without the high cost. I bought some curved pieces to recreate a roof. I may give in eventually and get the palace, but for now I am happy (outside of not having those great mini figures, especially Jabba). I love Tatooine sets, so I don’t think the throne room is a bad buy. It fits nicely in the overall theme with the Cantina, Obi-Wan’s Hut, etc.

even making this purchase used with minifigures is so expensive, sometimes purchasing the build is alot cheaper, getting the figures outside the set imo

Hi Holly, I love your videos and especially reviews! I have watched this video overall about thirteen times and have found it fascinating every time, but I was wondering if you are planning on ever buying the Rancor Pit for I am a glad owner of said Rancor and Pit and haven’t regretted my purchase once! The Rancor is a brill mould and has gone up in price hugely

15:43 you’re actually supposed to put Han in the carbonite piece, you just put Han’s hands on those bars that are sticking out on the back

I so need this set. Cas I a Yoda fan but not Shaw if I get it as I not into buying sets to sit on shelf an don't collect star wars set s only Yoda two sets and will probly sale any star wars set I got I not opened. Or open them one day 🤩

the whole mosque debacle was extremely embarrassing tbh, it was actually an Islamic community leader from my home city which started the whole controversy. If you had seen the flyer they put out, you'd see how much they wanted to play victim in this case (there is a lot of real anti-muslim racism of course, but that was obviously not an instance of that). And as you said, they aimed their complaints at Lego and not at Star Wars. My favourite example from the flyer was them accusing Lego of portraying an Islamic preacher as a violent pig (they were referring to the Gamorrean Guard with his axe, and him being in the tower of a mosque-looking building apparently makes him a muezzin). I want to reaffirm my stance against discrimination, and the fact that this was a very embarrassing case of deliberate misreading

It's weird that they were complaining that it looked like a mosque (it doesn't to me), because lots of buildings look like other religious buildings. You could say Hogwarts looks like a Catholic Cathedral, or such and such a building looks like a Church. Were the complaints stemming from the fact that they didn't want it to look like a mosque because terrorists often meet at mosques and come from mosques? But great video though, and it's a great set, I have it as well!
