The 2000 AAT actually is my favourite set as its size is the most accurate and its overall proportions are matching the real tank quite nice, I wish LEGO kept to this pattern and just improved it a bit

The 2009 AAT is still one of my favorite lego sets ever. I finally rebuilt it after 12 years and I just love it.

2020 AAT: *Exists* Scalpers: Allow us to introduce ourselves

I love the 2015 AAT because it is not to complicated, it’s simple, and it’s very accurate. Lego clearly based the 2020 off of the 2015, but they made so many unnecessary changes to it and made it highly inaccurate. They could have totally re used the old design but with a color change. I was so unhappy with the 2020 that I had to fix it myself and change the head the cannon the front door the side cannons, and I even put in the space in the back which can be accessed by the back hatch. So now it is pretty much entirely accurate. But Lego could have just re-used the 2015 set but with the Separatist colors, their was pretty much nothing wrong with the build, it was very small but if you want to have a large quantity of them to fill your army with tanks then it is a great set.

The 2009 AAT holds a special place in my heart from when I played the lego star wars clone wars game.

Out of all of these, I love the 2009 one. I love it so much. It’s one of my favourite sets Lego has ever made. It’s just perfect. Definitely minifigure scale, accurately moving cannon and head. The only things Lego could do to perfect it would be to make the back hull (or the speeder’s underside) a little smoother and to use all dark blue parts rather than a mix of blue and dark blue. The final thing would be to make a better interior, with a way to get down from the head to the main section, where you could instead place a pilot and two gunners and also use the circular hatch for access as well as the large panel.

Why are the most recent AAT’s rounded like that! They never look like that and it really bothers me. The base isn’t long enough either. 2009 nailed it

The 2000s AAT was the first baby that they tried to raise but didn't do too well and did just okay, the 2009 AAT was Lego's 2nd child that they did perfectly with raised so well and nurtured, then Lego invited their cousin over and the other AAT wasnt the best but was kinda cute (2015) then the weird neighbor also got invited and really tried to be as good as the 2nd child but just looked even worse

Both the AAT tank and the 501st battle pack got sold out within in 10 minutes.... 😑 I M M A D B R O.

I’m living in Australia and yesterday I checked the LEGO website at exactly 11:59, refreshed the page at 12:00 and the 501st battle pack and aat was available and by the time I put in my credit card number the sets had sold out and they now are temporarily unavailable Edit: just if anyone wants to know the maximum of the 501st you could get was 15

I always loved that 2000 AAT, one of my favorite sets as a kid, and in my opinion still the best AAT!

I recently bought the new AAT with Ahsoka and it's such a simple "fix" to bring the cannon to a normal length. Simply remove the 3 technic cylinder pieces and stick the long, thin piece with the axle-end back on. It comes in line with the proper length and looks great. Not sure why Lego didn't just do this in the first place!

In short (for the 2009 and 2020 AAT sets) 2009: You buy it for the tank. 2020: You buy it for the minifigs.

I love how one of the biggest draws of 2009 is "holy cow, that's a big AAT". I have it and I love it, especially because of it's size.

I really like the 2020 one tho. You get really cool figures and an iconic vehicle really cheaply. I also like the longer cannon it really fits the whole style of the AAT

You should do the three MTT's next! (2000, 2007, 2014) Even though it's pretty obvious which one is going to win, it would be interesting to see the 2000 one pitted against the 2014, considering they're roughly the same size and both hold only 6 battle droids.

I just love the 2015 AAT, but 2020 figs got me looking the other way, sadly...

the 2010 tank takes the gold IMO, but the minifigures are contested with the 2020. The 2010 figures are quantity over quality, but the 2020 figures are quality over quantity.

I want to see another AAT soon which has: Regular tan color A Pilot, Normal battle droid, and a COMMANDERRRR (No AAT has had a commander and it NEEDS one, as that would be accurate) One of those Gungan camel things that have the massive feathers on them (lego has made one before but in one OLD set) A brown or blue STAP Good interior with ramp at the back (again, accurate) Anybody else want these things with an AAT?

Gotta say both blue models are my favorites. I really like the 2020 model but ya i wish I hadn't seen what an AAT was supposed to look like lol. Still buying a couple of them for the 332nd troop and Ahsoka. Really saved this set

The 2015 AAT is probably my favorite simply based on looks. Only thing I would change for it is make the arms of the side turrets longer and give them the ability to rotate. Though the 2009 version definitely has the best minifigs. Really wish we could get those B2s with the big arm cannons again, or just B2s in general.

It's fascinating how comparing sets like this over the years shows Legos changing philosophy. It went from "how can we do an honor to this new IP" to "we have some new designing and a new show, let's make fun and whacky sets." 2015 brought in the "Let's bring back a classic! We have so many new pieces. Let's see what we can do. " Then, in 2020, it's "let's see how bad we can do before people get mad."

Unpopular opinion: 2015 is the best model. Perhaps not the best set itself, as the figures, although accurate, lack compared to the other sets (minus ‘99 set.) It’s not the worst set though, that will go to the 2020 model, as you are paying nearly double the price for slightly better minifigures and a poorly constructed, same-sized tank. The 2015 model is easily the strongest model. It’s very compact and difficult to break, unlike the ‘99 set for obvious reasons, the 2009 model because it’s too big and hollow, and the 2020 version because the back is completely unpolished. It also has a very nice design, many intricacies through stud and slope pieces go to polishing the texture on the turret and main body, you get a very professional looking model, for an amazing 25$ price tag. The 2009 model was very oversized and needed larger pieces to make up for it, surrogating the neatness that The 2015 more presents. In fact, the 2009 model is easily the worst. It breaks easily, the blaster parts are very easy to snap off (if you don’t flick it off intentionally. The fact that the shooting feature is literally pretending the blasters are also the lasers cannot be looked past and is HORRENDOUS.,) and overall just isn’t a very appealing design the longer the look at it. The build is mediocre, building it can be a hassle, and is just too bloated and expensive for such a medium-sized vehicle it’s based on. The 2020 model also has some decent techniques in the building applied, but the proportions are “funny,” some parts clearly lack any technique, and the the pricing makes no sense. The ‘99 model is perfectly sized (more accurate than 2015,) but the building is below average by today’s standards, as it’s too angular and blocky, and all of the blaster pieces are relatively ugly, especially the two next the main cockpit. The color scheme is good, but this is more opinion based. I’m personally a fan of the tan scheme over the blue scheme. The playability isn’t the best, because the smaller cannons don’t rotate, but that is very minor. The orange missiles in the 2015 and 2020 models are gorgeous, but unlike 2009, you can launch them without actually touching the missiles. You don’t just need stickers to pretend there are missiles present underneath the chassis, like the ‘99 and 2009 model as well. Despite its compact size, both droids can be fit inside, and although I’ve always had a nitpick with how they fit and the fact that there are no controls, every AAT set shares the same problem. The turret is nicely sized and fun to rotate as well, unlike the ‘99 and 2020 model. I can’t find any reason why the 2015 model is as underrated as it is. The build is very satisfying, it will last a very long time for a cheap price, you get a valid assortment of figures with few stickers (cough cough 2009,) and it is great to look at. It also maneuvers very easily, and I think that contributes to the overall playability. In power rankings, I’d go: 2015 2020 2009 1999 Positives to the others: 2020 still looks decent, has great figures and is, well, new. 2009 is gloriously oversized for some, making them a battlefield menace. The little compartment for the speeder thing makes no sense but was something I’d never expect. You get a lot of figures too, and the figures aren’t too bad, especially that B2 droid model with that amazing, rare, arm-cannon piece (bring it back, Lego!) The 1999 model is at a disadvantage for its primitive age, being amongst the first LEGO Star Wars sets ever produced for the Phantom Menace promotion. Yet, it manages the most accurate size, meaning they are probably the most massable for MOCS, and are relatively basic, meaning you can absorb many of them at a distance with your eyes without getting distracted. Odd positive; I know, but I think it hold it’s own merit. The price is also not as heinous as the 2009 and 2020 model, but the figures still keeps it at the bottom (the blasters also contribute to this, megaphone blasters subtracted from every set they were in until 2007.)

You say “clean and elegant” for the 2009 AAT, it’s a great set but I wouldn’t call it that, it’s more blocky than the next two, that’s just my opinion🤷🏼‍♂️

Those battle droids were actually the standard ones on kashyyk, but they aren't exclusively for kashyyk, that paint job being used on any jungle planet.

Shun me or whatever I like the 2020 one best. I just like the smooth lines. All of the main issues can be fixed with parts in the set. You can take off part of the cannon, turn the side cannons, and even add the blue stripe. You just need to cut the blue line from the sticker sheet and put it on. I also saw someone fix the size of the head, although you can’t put in the droid anymore.
