Yeah really the only options are designing a completely new helmet. Or just only including helmet holes for captains and commander or certain special troopers, which I think is the best option.

I feel like they could’ve just designed new visors to accommodate for the height difference (and make them accurate to the phase 2 troopers that are using the visors while they’re at it) so it would’ve actually made sense for the helmet holes to be where they should be

@@jbiel3617 yeah understandable. Even if it was a visor that worked for multiple different clones instead of being character specific, I would’ve definitely loved a new mold

Or lego could have made 2 different helmets. One with holes, and one without them. They were kinda doing that with the fighter tank, and Bad Batch sets at the time, but that was probably just a transition period.

@@beddeb45 but then the ones without the holes wouldn't be customizable. Disliking helmet holes seems like disliking bricks because they have studs. Its a connection point on a building toy. That's kinda the main point

@@Fishysalmon02you’re missing the point.. there shouldn’t be two helmet holes on each side because in the real movies/shows there is only one hold on each side. They should just remove the bottom holes and keep the top holes

I actually spent a ridiculous amount of time using one of my 501st specialist pack’s pieces to make a minifig scale ATRT and finally achieved a design that I like. It’s not perfect in terms of accuracy or sturdiness, and I could make it better with other pieces or even just two packs’ worth of the same pieces, but my goal going into it was to make an alt build that could be done with just one battle pack. A few hours and many experiments with odd building techniques later, I have a design that I’ve already copied twice with two more battle packs. I need to post it on the subreddit at some point.

Because if they placed them "accurately" then the visors would not connect in the proper place. This is not just because the Lego visor wouldn't work if it was placed there, but also because the ACTUAL visors on clone helmets connect above the ear cover nubs.

One thing that’s changed in recent years is that the cartoon and live action sub themes for sets have completely merged into one uniform artstyle. No more Rebels style Stormtroopers, no more of the abominations that were the old Clone Wars face prints. Good thing in terms of being able to mix live action and animation based sets more seamlessly, but bad thing in that the unified theme is less accurate to the animated or live action source material and more of a middle ground. It’s a bit of a give and take but I’m personally glad that they’ve unified all the eras/mediums into one printing style so that all the mini figs can be used together seamlessly no matter what source material they’re based off of. Although there’s definitely some room for improvement, I was never a fan of the visually incompatible sub themes that Lego did within its Star Wars line and think unifying them was a good idea.

And the builds have just improved so much. They’re still over priced but the builds are actually cool now they’re not just there to complement the figures.
