i don’t even know if you’re going to see this comment. but i just wanted to thank you for these videos. i’ve been a fan of Kingdom Hearts for a little over 15 years now and sometimes i forget the reason why i fell in love with it. watching these has brought me back to being 9 years old and connecting to the pureness and magic of these characters and their growth. it’s incredible to see someone enjoy these games for the first time and allowing me to relive the joy they gave me. so again, thank you.

53:33 is such a wonderful cap off to Rikus growth. Back at the start of kh2, Diz asked Riku the same thing and he saw himself as a remnant of Ansems darkness… and now he sees himself as he is. He’s Riku :’)

It goes to show the kind of series Kingdom Hearts is when Leigh is going on a big monologue about how much Riku means to her and how good of a character he is, but on the screen it's a picture of Donald and Goofy

Kingdom hearts is meant for people like Leigh. Not to those toxic people who keep complaining about the story. Needs someone a pure of heart to appreciate it i guess. Never seen a KH fan love DDD as much as Leigh does

3D is certainly not perfect by any means. The Disney worlds can be lacking and the flowmotion takes some to get used to. But I love the character development for Riku and Sora so much and it's such an important game for the franchise. I can't help but love it. Thank you for the video

One of my most underrated parts about 3D is when Ven smiles at the end while Sora is back with the Dream Eaters. After the UX reveal that Dream Eaters are the fallen keyblade users from the war, and Ven being from the past, it tugs on my heart knowing that his heart is currently back with some of his old friends

The spirits in the 3ds version were awesome. You could pet them on the touch screen and the background wasn't a room, it was the 3ds camera and you could take pics. So you could have a meow wow or any of your pets in irl photos it was adorable, I still have my 2ds and Dream Drop Distance even tho I could easily play the ps4 version lol

Actually, the nature of the Sleeping Worlds can relate with the Nobodies - remember, the worlds were missing residents (like Jiminy and Mickey), but still dreamed up substitutes. And as Ansem said, dreams hold our memories, and memories were shown in Chain of Memories to be the building blocks of hearts. Likewise, Nobodies managed to fill in the gaps of their hearts with what was missing based on their memories. - Also, hearts regrowing plays into Xehanort's final plan - planting fragments of his heart (his heart will just regrow what was missing) into others so they can incubate copies of his heart. - Regarding The Grid, it carries the original system that Space Paranoids's system (in Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden) was copied from. So technically, this Tron had never met Sora. - Remember, Minnie tried to forgive Pete for a lot of things by BBS's time - attempted murder and usurping apparently included. - Dearly Beloved plays in every Kingdom Hearts's title menu - the events here just reinforce that it's the very theme of friendship. - Also, is it any coincidence the Dream Eater that the Players were pursuing would flee to Symphony of Sorcery? Considering both TWEWY and Fantasia are both heavily music-based? - Look at how the Dark Figure holds its hand forth. And Riku's response to it. Hrmmmmm... - BTW, Leonard Nimoy died sometime after Dream Drop Distance was completed, so don't be surprised if Xehanort sounds different in KH3. - So lemme try to make KH time travel rules easy to understand: -> When you time travel, you'll be in heart form the whole while. -> You can only continue in the same direction you went at the start of your session (future or past), and only where an iteration of yourself exists (in Xehanort's case, people carrying fragments from his heart). -> The things you can do can't bend fate. (KH3 gives an idea of what happens if you do) -> When your session ends, you'll go right back to where you started, typically with limited memory of your travels. - Yen Sid actually did this at the start to Sora and Riku so they can infiltrate the realm of darkness - and its Sleeping Realm - while Destiny Islands was getting consumed.

I'm so glad I came across your video today : a little less than a year ago, I started writing a story , partly inspired by KH themes. I was already a KH fan for a while. But then, I saw one of your videos. Finding your channel and seeing your interpretations and feelings towards this franchise gave me a lot of answers to why I loved it so much. We don't know each other, but when I see how you react to certain things, relate to some characters like Riku, I can't help but think we had similar lives and experiences. It's been almost a year, and I've published my story through Webtoon CANVAS (the amateur side), words after words, drawings after drawings, chapters after chapters. Your reactions always helped to keep the spark alive. Tomorrow, I'm having an interview with an editor to get my story professionally published. I'm scared, I'm excited, but I'm also grateful. Crossing your path, your emotions, changed my whole story. Thank you

Yesssss! This is really where the story takes a turn into some insane stuff, that I feel either turns people off or completely hooks them for life lol. I can't wait to see your reaction to KH3 now! But I suppose we still got 0.8 and Union X story to get through lol

If you think about it. It is understandable that Riku became a master compared to Sora. He has grown so much from being a thrall of darkness to understanding and accepting it giving him a mastery over darkness. His whole journey has been him trying to undo the mistakes he made when he succumbed to it originally but the mastery is a nice touch to it basically saying "He's gone through so much and grown and we see how far you've come." Sora in the meanwhile, while doing great things himself and stopping Ansem and the organization, hasn't really grown much. He's still the same boy who left the islands, a bright eyed kid with a bit of naivete. This is a good wake up call to him to show that he still has much to learn if he too wants to become a master like Riku. It was best shown at the start where Sora got a bit offended that he and Riku need to be tested after everything they went through and Riku understood that they still needed to go through it.

I'm a recent newcomer to your channel, but I just wanted to say I've never seen anyone who is as immersed in the KH story and worlds as you! Not many people can just stop and take in the atmosphere, especially when there's a timer ticking. I think you also encapsulate our feelings towards KH perfectly, like it's definitely not perfect and there are some wacky parts for sure, and yet it always manages to land on it's feet and hit us in the feels in the end (I would recommend playing the DLCs for KH3 though...) This game beat out KH BBS for my favorite KH game mainly because it was pure art to me. Also Kingdom Hearts pokemon made everything better. The nod to Sora returning to thank the Dream Eaters he was whisked away from and never got to thank, is just such a beautiful nod to Sora and how pure his heart actually is, where Riku was appreciative he didn't give a second thought to the monsters that helped him in his exam, while Sora seemed genuinely delighted and happy to see Traverse town and the dream Eaters that helped him were all still there and real.

I totally feel you with getting emotional over Traverse Town- it's always been one of my favorites, if not my MOST favorite world in all of the games. I pent so much time as a kid just jumping around, visiting everyone, sparring in Merlin's place, and I think it being the hub world of the original game further adds to everything. Traverse Town is just the epitome of nostalgia to me and everytime I'm there or I think of it or listen to its theme I get emotional. I honestly have always wished that Traverse Town could be something that existed IRL- obviously not with the context of "Traverse Town exists because other worlds have literally disappeared", but everything else about it. Traverse Town also made me so happy because Kairi goes back there, and it has the Dalmations (the puppy that follows you around the house always made me cry bc CUTE), it's where Sora meets Donald and Goofy and makes the pact of "no frowning, no sad faces", and it just has so many little secrets as well. Traverse Town had so much development time put into it and you can tell, and I love how DDD expands on Traverse Town to make it more fun and whimsical since it IS the DREAM version of it.

As someone who's played all the KH games, I'll be the first to admit I've become more and more jaded as the series went on. I remember the wonder and mirth I felt the first time I played KH1, but that excitement dwindled and dwindled as the story progressed and the games got increasingly more convuluted. It reached a point where I felt like I was just going through the motions to see the story through to completion by the time I reached Birth by Sleep, and I felt so drained and apathetic by the time KH3 finally released that I... honestly didn't feel anything. Watching your playthroughs has made me question myself. I want to experience that -- that genuine joy and and glee of what I think Kingdom Hearts is supposed to make you feel. You've rekindled my interest purely through your intoxicating sense of enjoyment. Maybe it's not enough for me to love the series the same way I did when I played KH1 the first time, but I think I'll play through them all again and give myself a genuine shot at recapturing that feeling, even if it's only one more time.

For me this game was like bbs playing as riku he had the hardest bosses just like Aqua. And they both fell to the darkness at one point. Some parallels for me. Young Xehanort for me was one of the hardest bosses I had to fight in KH. I had to grind and level up so much.

It makes me really happy to see this one. DDD is one of my favorites in the series and it might be due to the dream eaters being their version of Pokémon and they are customizable
