Күн бұрынThis is by far my favorite Kingdom Hearts game (with ReMind) and playing it for the first time was one of the most magical experiences I've had with a game. It's why it was so hard to edit, because cutting out things made me sad LOL

I don't have a KH4 reaction because I didn't expect the announcement to be an entire trailer (haha) and stayed up all night watching it live. Just know I screamed way too loud for 4am in an apartment complex. But I hope this video makes up for it! Part 2 shouldn't take nearly as long because I'm not condensing 8 disney worlds this time. the most shocking moment in kh3 was the realization that the gummi ship flew backwards by blasting its own engines inside itself. those poor chipmunks. godspeed lil dudes.

Man....watching you get so emotional over Winnie the Pooh and then what you said afterward about "growing up and not having time for Pooh anymore" made me pause because you're so right and I've never been able to put into words...and now I can't stop crying lmfao. I think TODAY at 33 years old I finally realized that maybe to be happy in life I just need to "make some time for Pooh" 💜 because being a grownup is hard

Fun fact if I remember reading correctly, Zachary Levi got the part of Flynn Rider/Eugene in Tangled because he was a fan of Kingdom Hearts and hoped he would get to voice the character in a future Kingdom Hearts game ^^

Well, he didn't get the part because of that. They just thought he was a good fit. But he absolutely auditioned for the part because he wanted to voice a character in KH. I hope they give him another side character or something. He's such a big KH fanboy. 🥺

If you're confused as to what happened between Aeleus/Lexaeus and Roxas that Ienzo was talking about. Basically in the starting days of the game when each orginization members were teaching Roxas about the mechanics, Lexaeus was responible for teaching Roxas his super move... which can generally only be used on low HP. So... Laxaeus socked Roxas when he wasn't expecting it. Wasn't really well shown in the 358/2 days movie but it's a nice callback nonetheless.

Right, but why would that result in Aeleus being mad at Roxas? He's the one who whacked the shit out of Roxas, if anything Roxas would have reason to be pissed at him, not the reverse. Unless Aeleus straight up disapproved of Roxas' entire existence or something I honestly think they just straight up forgot the Roxas had shit all to do with Lexeaus. In the same way that Ienzo talks about how Sora hasn't seen him since Castle Oblivion, when the two never met or interacted. At all. Love KH and all, but this struck me more as lazy writing of "well they're ex-organization and Roxas betrayed the organization so they probably didn't like him too much for that like everyone else in KH2" without anyone bothering to check that no, these two were offed well before that ever happened.

I take the part where Riku reacts in shock to Mickey saying Aqua is like Sora as Riku thinking he means she’s dumb as fuck like Sora is. Then he’s relieved when Mickey fixes his statement lol

From what I've seen in discussions, apparently the joke was lost in translation and what it sounded like Mickey said in Japanese was "she looks like Sora". I like to think Riku was picturing a Rule 63 Sora.

Nah, in japanese it could mean "she looks like Sora", so Riku freaks out because he's thinking it's another Sora clone. 😂

Sora isn’t dumb, dumb would mean he has trouble learning and retaining information. Sora is naive, like dude was swallowed by darkness at the age of 12ish. Of course he doesn’t know what a lot of stuff is. All he knows how to do is fight. Also KH has, is, and will forever be a video game shonen manga. MY FRIENDS ARE MY POWER!

I really like that little bit when Sora thinks all is lost and he says that without his friends he's nothing. It's like the "dark side" of my friends are my power. No friends, no power. Really pretty sad when you rethink Sora's rallying cry throughout the series.

I adore what you said about Twilight Town and totally feel the same way. Even when I first played KH2 as a teen, I felt drawn to the town and it totally does exude those feelings of summertime nostalgia, especially with the perpetual sunset and the charming music. I'm sure the story does aid that feeling to some extent. When I first played Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, it was thanks to my friend letting me borrow his copy of the game. His parents were divorced so he only lived near me for a couple months out of the year. We did our best to make those brief moments count, but goodness if I didn't relate to Roxas's somber way of saying farewell to his summer vacation. It's been well over a decade now and that friend and I don't really keep in touch anymore, but I still find joy and value in those memories, just as Hayner says in KH2-- that when you never forget your friends, you're never really apart. Memories like those truly are etched on my heart and I'm so glad this series is a part of my life. Anyway, sorry for the long comment. I've loved watching your reaction videos and re-experiencing the series through someone who has next-to no knowledge of what happens. It really is lovely. Thank you for sharing with us all.

When I first played KH3 the compilation of the entire series at the beginning made me cry. This series is 20 years in the making and is still one of my favorites. I remember finding KH1 on a whim at a GameStop by my house as a kid thinking it would be silly. Little did I know that this series will forever hold a special place in my heart

So knowing that you e finished the series months ago. I’m watching the VODs and I gotta say. It makes sense why Sora has no confidence in himself. When he had no powers everyone left him. After that he always surrounded himself with people. I think his journey in KH4 and the next trilogy will be him discovery who he is. These first games are about a child and his innocent naivety. He’s gotta grow up now:(

1:03:53 is the moment I use now as my reinforcement for the idea that Sora views Roxas like the brother he never had cause HE'S LITERALLY TALKING TO HIRO ABOUT HIS BROTHER WHEN HE SUDDENLY GET'S THIS MOMENT ABOUT ROXAS. It's such a beautiful evolution of their relationship and I love it so much to see Sora just care about making Roxas comfortable and doing whatever he can to help him. Also, I'm loving your playthrough of Kingdom Hearts, and as a fellow Roxas fan I must say I both laughed at your tears and cried alongside you during those Kingdom Hearts 2 moments, and don't even get me started on 358/2 days.

Tbf Yen Sid mentioned at the beginning of this game that Sora "had lost *most* of the power [he] had gained", the key word being "most", so Sora technically didn't forget "everything". I guess it's another way of making him go back to square one but also allowing him to keep some of the previous gameplay mechanics.

I will never forget my first experience playing this game after waiting so many years for its release. I was in Olympus Colosseum and found a hidden mickey. I pulled out the gummy phone to take a picture. Hercules was in frame and he literally walked over to the hidden mickey, stopped just beside it, and POSED FOR A PICTURE. Moments like that really make me love this series lol!

The way Leigh reacts to everything is how a true fan of KH reacts a lot of the fan base was divided when KH3 came out honestly if you were a fan from the beginning you’d deep down love KH3 ( but that’s just my opinion lol )

I agree. Actually, the vast majority of us KH fans liked KHIII and then it only got better with Re:Mind. The ones spewing hate were a minority.......they were just louder than us who loved it. Been with this series since day 1. I was 12. I legit screamed and cried when I saw 4. He looks so grown up and it got me in my feels. I can't believe he's canonically 17 now. That means Kairi is 17 too and Riku is 18. UGH.

The one thing I noticed after going back through the series is that, just before Axel sees Xion's image when looking at Kairi, Kairi says multiple things that Xion had said in the past. "You're sweet, Lea" -> "You're sweet, Axel" when Axel had called Roxas and Xion his best friends after she woke up from passing out. "Don't hold Back, Lea. Promise" -> "Please don't hold back Axel. Promise" when Axel had to forcefully take Xion back when she was in front of the mansion.

I was too young to really understand all of the emotional nuances and seeing your reactions in the other games were the ones I felt when I replayed them years later when I was older. Thank you so much for putting these videos together and sharing your journey! The first Kingdom Hearts game came out when I was 15 years old, and I've played the whole series since as it's slowly been released. Seeing someone new to the series react just as emotionally as me is deeply moving, I really feel seen when I watch you play.

Hey Leigh just wanted to thank you for reigniting my Love for this Franchise again, especially with KH2 and 358/2. It was such an emotional Rollercoaster, many tissue´s got taken, but what i love the most is, with what innocence and pure Heart you play these Games. I think it's really a testament to how beautiful these games are that they draw a similar reaction from both new fans and old. your reactions are super relatable to me, despite me having played kh since I was a kid. when you teared up while listening to dearly beloved on the loading screen it reminded me of playing kh3 for the first time. i think I took at least five minutes just listening to dearly beloved and crying a bit. the feeling is really indescribable. it's really comforting to see you have such similar reactions. I love all the wholesome and cute stuff too ❤ kh hurts but it's so sweet at the same time, it's been a treat to see you fall in love with the series and characters

Hey Leigh, glad to see you made it this far into the Kingdom Hearts franchise, and that you're enjoying it. Kingdom Hearts isn't the easiest game to get into, especially starting late. I recall a lot of times you said “I’m gonna cry” well kh games been a part of my childhood and ever since my best friend (who loved kh) died I’ve always played every single game in his honor and aqua was his favorite character so every time I see her I always pay a salute to him and I play in his honor.

I was saving this video for when I finished KH3, I finally got to play it for the first time a few weeks ago and finished it yesterday, and it was an absolutely magical experience. I had some gripes with the story towards the end, but overall my favourite game in a series that has been with me for almost my entire life.

My first Kingdom Hearts game was 2 and the ammount of time I spent playing as Roxas and inside Twilight Town was way to much, my reaction going back was basically the same as yours, it felt like coming back home and the tears of joy and disbelief just didn't stop pouring for a while. It feels nice to see it meant so much for other people as well.
