Hey everyone welcome back to another video today. I am super excited to show you this class B motorhome from Thor motorcoach. This is the Thor Gemini 23TE this is an amazing B+ motorhome that sits on the Ford transit chassis. This chassis is all wheel drive. What these manufacturers need to learn is, us older people (I’m 52) like to have all the amenities in a small package. Just because we prefer a smaller package, doesn’t mean that we don’t expect to have side cameras!!

Age has nothing to do with side cameras. That is a more of a want/need preference. And 52 is not really part of the "older people" demographic. Besides side cameras can always be added, along with a porcelain toilet, a better shower curtain or shower door, and other changes that would make this rv a viable contender.

This is the first time you used the word cheap correctly. Thor is not in the same league as LTV quality is much better, but $70 grand is a lot to pay ❤

Love the price! Need porcelain, need the microwave higher, don't like the shower curtain. Love the bathroom, the TV placement, on demand hot water.

Matt & Andrea: Trying to compare this Thor product with a LTV is like comparing a Porsche to a VW bug. It's apples vs. oranges. Both are small motorhomes with "similar" floorplans...but that seems to be all. You can really tell where Thor has cut corners on the fit & finish and amenities to get that price point down. For example: cheap hardware-store hinges on the cabinetry, plastic toilet, thin mattress, etc. In this case, you get what you pay for...which ain't bad if the perspective is a "starter motorhome". There is definitely value here, and available now(?) But to claim that it's a Leisure Travel Van killer is a bit of a stretch...."just saying".

Also the customer service from LTV is the best! You can get it fixed under warranty anywhere and reimbursed and they always answer the phone and talk you through problems you are having - you can't get that with Thor from what I've heard.

Yeah, mine is a 2014 UMB. I had to order parts several times. Their parts guy Steve was very helpful and shipped the parts I needed ASAP.

You also forgot to mention Formica countertops and cabinets that don't seem to have fit and finish anywhere near LTV. The shower stall in the Thor looks like cheap plastic walls with a curtain compared LTV solid surface and glass door.

@@williamboyle8918 All RV manufacturers cut corners to squeeze our every dollar they can. LTV is no different. ALL Rvs are inherent money pits, my LTV is no different. I just came back from a 2 week trip (which was shortened due to mechanical problems) and now I have to open my wallet…again. So yeah, you’re right in your comment on a broad level.

A televator, wow, love that. Dislikes: no ladder, lack of exterior storage, twisty storage door locks, no external tv, not useable with slides in, have to get on knees to use microwave (another deal breaker), shower curtain (nope). Like: televator

We’ve got a 2022 Gemini TE and like it. Ours came with a ladder. We ditched the shower curtain and put in a retractable sliding screen. Added a memory foam topper on the mattress and it sleeps great. What you don’t see is that the water tanks are bigger than B vans which is nice. Best wife pleaser is the dry bath 😃 Perfect size for a couple.

I love the counter top/tv area for the smaller space....but all I can think about is something getting spilled and wrecking the tv, maybe a rubber edging?

You guys have the best reviews! Request: on the front seats that spun around etc etc - it would be great to actually see the doin around and set up. I know you guys open every drawer etc and that’s awesome. I know it’s more work to spin the seats but it’s so helpful to actually see stuff :) 👍

Three things I like about this RV - the bathroom. Spacious for a Class B. I like that the backup camera is in the rearview mirror. That there's no step going to the front seats. Three things I dislike about this RV - The Murphy bed. I would remove it and put in a sofa where the back folds down to make a twin bed. The shower curtain. That there's no pullout pantry

Options: 1.I need cameras on the side mirrors outside. 2. I need a ladder on the back to go up. 3. Replace toilet from plastic to ceramic 4. Replace shower curtain with plastic closure 5. Replace cooktop glass with something that want break maybe a plastic covering. 6.Love the refrigerator but I need it to open on both sides left and right. 7. Can the murphy bed mattress be exchanged for a better quality bed by your sponsor Matt? If all these changes can be done I'm all in....🎉

Gulf Stream makes something similar with a Murphy bed/couch across from a counter with a televator in it, but it also has a fake fireplace space heater. It also has a great although slightly smaller bathroom, but has more storage space for clothes and linens….. But I like the layout in this rig also…

I personally like this. I am a divorced semi retired man and I`m thinking about going to the van life. I love being outdoors so this has some features that would only come in handy with a rain or anything on that line. I didn`t notice if it had an awning or not. But over all I think it has everything I would need for comfort. Thanks for a great video and one last thing I also love the sunroof.

Thanks for the review Matt and Andrea! While I do not think this is a Leisure Travel Van "killer", I think the price along with many of the decent features makes this a viable rv contender for people in the market to purchase one.

Thor losses to the leasure travel van just on the build quality alone lol you may wait for the leasure vans but with the way thor break down you would be wise to wait for the quality motorhome lol

I have been able to find several LTV for sale, I think due to economy some who placed orders are having to back out. They are out there. You get what you pay for and the LTV acutally retains some value. Thanks for the vid.

The slide out Murphy bed should have side windows. Televator is great. Wish the microwave was above the counter. There is more than enough cabinet space año I’ve to put the microwave above and out some below the counter. The sofa should have some leg extensions that could help make it into a usable bed with the slide in. Shower curtain and plastic toilet, too cheap.

Ok I know this was a long ass time ago😮 but a little advice. That painting over the Murphy Bed is a great delivery hook. When the purchase is final, replace it with the family or couple or even a single and a dog, in its place. It demands instant ownership of the RV.

This is a nice RV for one or two people. I do not like that the tv doesn't recess down flush with the counter. Makes for very awkward use of the counter space. Storage seems to be fair, would like to see larger hanging space though. I would never consider a B van, but this B+ is pretty good.

Obviously not comparable to an LTV. And no reason to compare to Pleasureway, they quit making B+s years ago. What I'm dissappinted by though, is the steps. No external steps at all, the stairs are all inside. What I particularly like about the Ekko is 2 external steps and none inside, just a flat floor. But overall it's a Thor. Cheapest way to get on the road in its class, don't expect to get more than you pay for.

Cute rig. Love the review! I like the fridge, gas not deisel and AWD. I don't like the sparse storage on the exterior, the back mast (boring), no ladder. I have a fully loaded 2019 LTV Unity CB that I frequently think about selling. But, because I got it before the pandemic, I could never replace it for the price I bought if for. I've got 400W solar (upgraded the 2 100Ah batts to lithium), I can use it without the slide, it's only 10'6" in height. I'd love AWD, but maybe I should just get a transit van and build it out myself.

This is a great RV both in terms of layout and value! We saw it at the last show; It is a super option and if it is available , that's awesome. The dealbreaker for me is the murphy bed creases the mattress. You can see even in this demo that the mattress doesn't lay flat. Who wants to sleep on an uneven mattress and wake up with a sore back or neck? Plus when closed the "wall" at an angle looks bad, like an afterthought rather than actually interior designed.

I love the Ford 3.5 liter ecoboost engine. The engine stock form is a respectable engine but with the simple ECM tune you can get considerably more horsepower and torque out of it if you decide to. I like the decent-sized TV in the telavator and that it is directly across from the couch. I wonder if they make a 4x4 version of this unit? I would also want the volta lithium battery setup.

Andrea...that is a beautiful dress,,,Love it...and these are just better than a B and the Gemini's are a bit smaller...than other B pluses....and for most purposes that is a good thing..an almost B size wise and love the all wheel drive and just I know gas..I know cheaper..but you can find Ford fixes easier for less.

Compared to older versions of this floorplan I like the improved hot water system, love the new fridge with bottom freezer. the convection microwave, etc and I've always like the larger pop up TV across form the couch and all the larger windows on the door side. HOWEVER, a 24x36 shower is simply NOT usable by older adults that aren't as flexible (and this is otherwise a great retiree RV). There is easily room for a 32x36 by reducing or eliminating some of the cabinetry to the left of the sink!! This is a big fail that Thor does repeatedly on their bathrooms. I also agree that it needs to be a porcelain toilet, not junk plastic. Lastly, would love to see one of these on the lifted Ford Transit 4x4 chassis that is becoming available this year (though that may be normal van only - not cab/chassis). These sit too low for traversing many national forest roads.

Needs side cameras, but the floor plan is great! Agree with Andrea that it needs a better shower curtain. Try to add foot rests and neck support for the couch when watching TV. Fridge looks great.

I wonder if they could manage a bunk over the cab (for another person or added storage?)--Or even if it were possible to add a few inches in length to allow for a sofa that didn't have to be turned into a bed (I'm 5'7" & would love to be able to simply boondock & lay down flat in a slightly wider couch without pulling out the slide/But I love the bathroom and the all-wheel drive, espc. at that price & may consider getting one!

Right size, wrong chassis. Was that a pull out tray for pet dishes under the shower? Hate the Murphy bed. I'd yank that out and put in a smaller twin just for me and since I'm short, I can do it sideways and never have to use the slide out, since I'd have to do some cosmetic changes anyway. But this is the most perfect unit for me that I've seen yet. I'd also yank out that TV/televator and utilize all that counter space for the kitchen. If it weren't for the price and the Ford chassis, I'd run out and get it today. I also dislike the small opening windows. Well...on to the next video. Keeping my fingers crossed that you eventually show something I actually want to buy in the near future.😢😮

Hey Andrea, try letting your seat back or recline your chair a little... Three likes: All the cabinets, the spacious rear bath, the 32" TV in front of the couch and bed. Three dislikes: You have to maintain pressure on the keypad to get the TV in viewing position. The shower curtain. Third, to lay in the bed, the slide has to be out. Overall, I like it, and the front end styling is dynamic

I had a Gemini several years ago. What was amazing, when the slide was out, the inside felt "square"..like you were in a resort cabin. THAT's why these B+ vans are worth looking at. Unfortuantely, I needed an RV with a rear door, so I could use it to move furniture and lumber, so I had to go BACK to a Class B. BUT....The Class B I have is SO TIGHT. Too much for even a small person like me to move around and VERY LITTLE storage space. OH...if ONLY these B+'s had a rear, pass through access, door! Another thing I liked about the Gemini...the engine torque. I had a Diesel engine on my Gemini. Ford produced an engine that let me drag race with my RV. Not sure how this gasoline engine fairs against their old Diesel engine.

In Australia we have about 6 manufacturers that produce similar motorhomes. Ford Transit is a rare as hens teeth as a Van let alone as a Motorhome. Many other motorhome bases are used.

If that dash screen doesn't swivel, it will be unusable, and therefore, unsafe if the sun is coming through the passenger window. Also, the 'Televator' should be recessed until it is flush with the countertop so that the surface is 100% smooth and usable. There is ZERO reason for that thing to be sticking up like that. LTV would never have made that mistake. LTVs are also handle-less on the cabinets, so no broken fingernails for Andrea there. And that mattress? I'm sorry but aside from the skyhigh price on ANY Mercedes van,the cost of maintenance follows, even if you can find a Mercedes dealer in the area you are stuck in, one that would even come close to a conversion van, make sure you bring your checkbook. Mercedes van is a deal breaker for me.
