Hi Mama Joyce, made this pie last night with lemons from my tree. Have to admit I could NOT wait 2-3 hours😁I cut me a slice after 1 1/2 hours😉It was nicely set, super creamy, the perfect combination of sweet and tart and SOOOOO dang good!!! And so easy! My mother in law makes this lemon ice box pie, it is so good! In the summer, when the strawberries are nice and ripe, she’ll sometimes slice up strawberries and add sugar and let them sit in the fridge. We will cut a slice of lemon ice box pie and spoon the sugared strawberries on top. Praying for precious Momma Joyce and her family. Thank you for sharing your Momma with us, Mr. Marshall!

When I was a small child, my great-grandmother use to make these pies for every family get-together......and I'm now 62 years old. That's how old this recipe is! I also like to use the cherry or blueberry pie filling. This is soooo good!!!

Just got back from grocery store with ingredients for this pie that I'll be making soon as the cream cheese comes up to temp/softens. I grew up eating much of the good ol southern home cooking you've shared with us but unfortunately missed learning how to cook for myself completely. Hello Momma Joyce! Thank you for this recipe! It was wonderful refrigerated, but I kept it in the freezer so it would be a bit firmer. I am a sugar junkie, but my husband can take sweets or leave 'em. Not so with THIS recipe! My mama used to make this pie when I was a little girl in the 70s and it was my favorite. I also made these for my kids. They loved them so much it became requested for there birthdays instead of cake. Now Making them for my grand babies!

I love the ice box pies they are so good .I like to eat them with nothing just the icebox pie so rich but great. Thanks for this one, I always made with three lemons and three eggs & no cream cheese. Used the whites of the eggs for marange. this is so much easier than my way. 💓
