something that I'd love for Minecraft to add is, simply an Atmospheric update, no new blocks, no anything, just a cosmetic update, like dynamic lights, player animations, twinkling stars in the sky, shooting stars etc. Also, weather events and dynamic weather based on biomes etc. like, in Jungles it would rain more often, Savannas would have rain but almost never etc. In mornings, there'd be fog and occasional little droplets of water falling from trees etc. Snowstorms and Sandstorms would be things too, simply obstructing the player's vision.

I’m honestly surprised how well that shader fits into Minecraft, since most shader packs feel out of place imo. As for the rest of the list literally the only thing I would add if it was possible is Alex’s Mobs (aka the only reason I haven’t moved to fabric).

Fun trivia: the author specifically made the Reimagined version of his shader to be faithful towards how Mojang represents Minecraft in bedrock RTX, their trailer videos and in other promotional material to have it fit in with the vanilla style as much as possible. That's largely why the clouds are blocky as well.

1:20 Some other nice ones include - FerriteCore (at LEAST 1gb less ram used) - Phosphor (lighting optimization) - Ksyxis (I forget what he does) - Krypton (networking optimization) - DashLoader (caches for quick launch) It makes it run so good on my laptop, even with shaders!! 🎉

you don't need DashLoader, sure it caches stuff to makes your game loads faster, but *most* of the time it breaks with alot of mods. You don't need phosphor in 1.20.1 since minecraft 1.20 added a faster lighting calculation, making phosphor to be redundant or maybe worse. Ksyxis is good, but I think you should get ModernFix instead, since ModernFix superseeds them, and also offers bunch of other optimizations. Krypton is ok. It's better to use optimization modpack since they all comes with the latest optimization mods and also preconfigured settings, I recommend Simply Optimized if you don't really care about stability and wanted to get the most framerates. Otherwise I would recommend using Adrenaline if you care about compatibility and stability.

first off starlight is beteyr than phosor and they are both useless in 1.20.1 because minecraft reworked the lighting engine

@@clauteletuby not quite. Starlight being better than phosphor is incredibly true, but starlight does help marginally on servers so is still worth it on singleplayer or serverside. There are charts on modrinth page

I’m using a fair few of these mods too. I also have some alternatives and few others to suggest. - regions unexplored (alternative world generation) - towns and towers (alternative village improvement) - chipped (adds a whole load of texture variants to a lot of blocks) - double hotbar (self explanatory, incredibly convenient) - ht’s treechop (a nice improvement for cutting trees) - jade (provides information on what you’re looking at) - dramatic doors (adds 3 tall doors) - clumps (groups xp orbs to reduce lag) I’ve spent many hours scrolling through mods so I’ve found a lot of interesting ones, far to many to put here.

1:50 For anyone looking for shaders, I personally think one of the most underrated (or at least one that I don't hear many people talking about) has to be AstraLex. It looks absolutely stunning, and has an outstandingly low effect on FPS.

Another one that’s on the market is pixelated voxels on modrinth. Although it is in its beta/alpha phase so there is a ton of bugs. It based off of Complementary.

More ambience mods you could add are Dynamic Surroundings, Effective, and Illuminations. Effective adds the splashes from mc trailers, aurroundings adds dynamic fog for weather and time, and illuminations adds fireflies and other effects. And an extra mod for QOL is Essential, which lets you join singleplayer worlds like on bedrock.

Effective is for quilt tho, so if you want to use it you'll have to switch to Quilt instead of Fabric

I wish there was a flatland variation where it makes the surface flat at the normal sea level hight but keeps all the trees and structures and biomes and stuff with caves and oceans and stuff.

Well, you are lucky because the creators of that mod have just released Enderman overhaul, which just like the mod you like adds different variants of the Enderman that range from very cute to straight up terrifying!

@@amiplin1751 yeah, I just saw it! And... My goodness. The Savanna, Badlands and Snowy Endermen are adorable. Not as much as the really cute Flower Fields Enderboy, but still, their hoods make them look so adorable and filled with personality! Though I'd personally call the End Endermen and End Islands Endermen something along the lines of "Corrupted Endermen" and "True Endermen". I dunno, I thought it'd make sense.

one thing I've always wanted some mod to do is long (LONG) term events, stuff that you don't really notice until it becomes severe enough, like suddenly crops growing slower and eventually halting as it's simply way too hot and dry, before easing back into normal. It'd add something dynamic into the game that keeps you on your toes. Of course it could be as simple as what I described or it could be something more severe like nights becoming longer for seemingly no reason (eldritch unexplainable shit hell yeahh)

Quick tip for anyone wanting to use these mods on forge! There is a mod for forge called sinytra connector that allows you to run 1.20.1 fabric mods on 1.20.1 forge. So no need to worry about swapping loaders.

A couple of simple suggestions: visuality, enhanced attack indicator, entity culling, mouse tweaks, more mobs, and guard Villagers. Honestly they are worth testing if you want to.

Not sure if it’s on fabric but i think the Antique Atlas mod would be a tone down version of a “mini map” mod as after using both xaero’s and a few other mini map mods they seem out of place for minecraft and antique atlas fits it with how maps are with unique location notations with the map itself, I believe either with xaero or another you are able to teleport to your saved locations within the mini map which takes away from it when you could just add waystones

Playing minecraft VR is really helped with some of these mods. My perfect minecraft(in survival mode) would be scary, which is why I’ve added herobrine, weeping angels, better nether and end and some scary mod that adds graveyards and haunted houses. The enhanced sounds and world mods also help with the scaryness as I’d be mining then hear a sound then turn to see herobrine(which actually happened 😂)

For world generation I would also recommend Tectonic, which primarily adds big mountain ranges and has built in compat with Terralith. And for those looking for even more optimisation (FPS) I would use ImmediatelyFast and MoreCulling. Great Video! 🎉

Really love this video because it's short and sweet with just enough mods to freshen up minecraft without being overwhelming, but I would've loved to hear the sound mods, such a shame there wasn't any example footage of the new ambience or the echoing caves.

If you like complementary shaders you would love rethinking voxels. Its a edit of complementary that adds more graphical features without breaking the vanilla feel. Things such as light shafts, PBR and block lights being able to cast shadows like the sun would.

I will never understand how there's not more people talking about how bad minecraft needs MASSIVE inventory improvements. The very least they can do is increase the arbitrary 64 item stack size. But really what the need to do is increase stacks to at least 100, if not 1000, double inventory slots for the player and all storage items, make shulkers accessible from your inventory without placing them, add a tool bar so people can hold all of their tools without taking up 1/4 of their inventory. Late game vanilla minecraft is genuinely unplayable, it is just a poorly designed inventory management simulator.

at this point terralith is the norm all servers i play on have it or some other world gen mod the default landscape can be nice but it's very bloody lame compared to the modded versions

Another mod that I think goes a long way for sound is Presence Footsteps. It adds a bunch of small sound effects when walking around that make the game feel way more immersive.

The only change I'd make to this list is using Antique Atlas over the other map mods but other than that this is an amazing mod list for a Vanilla+/modpack foundation

GPU's in minecraft don't really matter, only in using shaders scenario if you want better performance I'd definitely allocate more RAM in launch options (i personally have it set to 6GB) or upgrade your CPU, also if you want to maximize the potential of performance mods you used I'd look at Fabulously Optimized modpack (it adds a little bit more mods like free capes or zoom but they can be easily disabled)

One thing I really wish was in the vanilla game is a reworked lightning engine that actually changes the color of light that is being given off from an object. It was disappointing seeing that the new frog lights gave off the same color of light. A rework of the lighting would make setting a mood for a build SO much easier.

Amazing video, these all add so much! Did you create a published modpack for this? Ive been trying to get into the more advanced side of minecraft like this but its all so overwhelming and I dont know where to start. Ive tried putting one pack together before and epically failed, I wouldnt even know how to add things from outside of curseforge.

I made a server with a lot of data packs for my friends once. One pack was made by me, it added two dimensions: the floating islands and the ampflified dimension. On top of that I added many structure data packs. The servers was really cool but after I went on vacation with my family for a few days all my friends stopped playing because they had already defeated the enderdragon and reached pretty much everything they wanted.

Try making the bosses much stronger, so it requires a team effort to beat them. If possible give them resistance 4, regen 1, and make all of them delete beds around themselves to prevent players from skipping the fight. Might be a really annoying, but it could be something you'd have to approach as a team. If it's too hard or annoying you can lower the resistance by one.

I would recommend Moog's over world structures, not the exact name but it adds +160 structures that don't effect gameplay but you could come across them and they just make the world feel more full as though other things really live in it

It's so interesting watching you make your perfect Minecraft because I'm doing the same for me right now, but my Minecraft is going in a completely different direction of gameplay with different mods. Am I allowed to make your mod collection a modpack for modrinth? Btw, lithium is not an add-on for sodium, it's a no-compromises game logic/server optimization mod.

No offense to the creator of this video but this modpack is literally just the same as 90% of current "Overhaul" modpacks on Curseforge. I'm not gonna lie, this is an issue with the current Minecraft community, where every modpack that I've tried to play recently is just the same thing over and over again (with a few exceptions like Dawncraft).

I think it isn't that it's an unoriginal idea, but rather just the quality standard for Vanilla+ style modpacks these days. There's always gonna be a core set of mods that you can expect from most overhauled packs. Anything too game-changing and it would be considered more than just Vanilla+. Fabric isn't as old as Forge either, so there won't be as much unique content. With some of the newer versions I'm seeing some pretty interesting stuff, only time will tell.

Wow, you managed to create a perfect atmosphere without changing much the minecraft vanilla experience. I would have wanted a sound test but it's ok. I think i'll test it myself in a singleplayer world or just create a server for me and my friends. 10/10 minecraft update (The ASMR not trash minecraft update)

This...I love this. There are a few mods that I would probably add to this for further optimizations, but this is an amazing start. What I would love to see, is most of these mods on a server environment. The better nether and end mods on top of terralith would be amazing. And I would love to see those new villages in my worlds. Ugh...now I see the appeal of running a Forge/Mod server. 😅

As someone who loves Minecraft and played it for a whole decade by now, I definitly love the vanilla experience, but I am missing a lot of features from mods when playing vanilla. Stuff like extra dimensions like the aether, deeper & darker, blue skies or twilight forest are great for exploring + natures compass/structure compass. Cataclysm for some new boss mobs. a storage system mod like atleast simple storage or even functional storage aswell as backpacks. Also silent gear is a mod I personally love, adding new gear & its endless possibilities to mix & match different ressources, also the artifacts mod makes exploring absolutely worth your time, with very cool unique items. Another mod I absolutely love is apotheosis, it’s addition to the enchanting system is great, aswell as being able to move spawners around. bottany pots is another mod that makes the game so much more convinient. If we wanna get fancy, adding the create mod and maybe some magic mods (like forbidden & arcanus, iron spellbooks or ars) or productive bees to make these mobs more impactful or even waystones to make travelling more convenient would also really add to the base Minecraft theme. (Honorable mentions, utilitiX, mob grindin utils, occultism & evilcraft, pipes just for easy item transportation)

This is pretty much my choice of mods too, just changing Overhauled Villages with Towns and Towers, which does the same thing but imo adds more interesting villages and outpost designs, on top of other new structures. Also, even though Yung's dungeons mods are cool, I feel they are too overpowered, you can just encounter one of these structures and literally come out with a full diamond set and a ton of useful items, so I removed them. I also have many other Vanilla+ mods, like other sound mods, particles, weather effects, some other UI mods, expanded storage, copper hopper and carry on for easier storage systems, a few mods that add more vanilla mob variety and Naturalist for some extra mobs, 3d skins, backpack, spyglass improvements (to activate spyglass from inventory, just an optifine zoom but more immersive), and a few others. Oh and also Create, which is a really cool mod and it's style fits perfectly on Vanilla. Edit: Forgot to mention, my shaders are also Complementary Reimagined, and I use Stay True as a texture pack because it just improves on vanilla. (I don't like the "realistic" packs, and the cartoony ones while they are fun, they get boring soon).

2 maybe more suggestens i like to make to round out the pack of yours 1. is the "Stay True" texture pack like the name says it looks mostly vanilla but adds overlay textures for gras sand gravel and moss sometimes orange leaves to brich trees giving them an autum forrest aperance and some other smaller changes 2. the rethinking voxels shader pack in my opinion one of if not the best minecraft shaderpack 3. falling leaves and fabric seasons to make the world a little bit more alive

i personally need a mod that chops trees when breaking one block, it just makes the early game as well as resource gathering so much less of a hassle, and i can focus on exploring.

I think the mod Mouse Tweaks is basically mandatory for me to be able to play the game anymore. It makes inventory management so much better by adding a number of QoL shortcuts that let you manipulate items more easily and intuitively.

I've been doing something like this myself, It's almost done, sadly there's less optimisation mods for forge. But I've still managed to craft a really fun vanilla+ pack with a new end post game. Edit: I also see we have simulair taste in structure mods heh.
