I worked on Lemp Ave. There are several locations in the area tied to the Lemp Brewery and the family. The places definitely have a magnetic pull to them, even before you know the history. I've seen more than one person come running out, fear wild in their eyes. Usually squatters, but a group of urban explorers came sprinting out one night. All kinds of commotion, they couldn't wait to review their footage. They said they felt something grabbing and scratching at them. They claimed to have heard voices. To my knowledge, I never did see their footage air. St. Louis may just be a ruin of its former self now, but the history of the city is astounding.

Lemp Brewery and Mansion both have astonishingly bad vibes if you are sensitive
@Callie8310 ай бұрын
@cecilyerker5601 I have also heard that from people, too. Although, the few nights I spent at the mansion, what I felt I would not describe as once human. I believe that when you go in knowing the history and legends of a location, a seed is already planted in your consciousness that can alter your perception of what is happening in reality. While I don't claim to be sensitive, there is definitely a tingling. I don't know that I'd want to explore any other sensations in the mansion. The brewery, on the other hand... well, it's just flat-out creepy. The vastness of that location is overwhelming, and the abyss is a perfect name. I understand why the scare actors quit after a shift or two. Working at a bar nearby, I've heard plenty of stories!

The reason why you felt so freaked out the whole time and like something was following you is because the Lemp tunnels and Lemp Mansion are actually haunted by the members of the Lemp family!

I live in St. Louis and I got to tour some of the Lemp tunnels before and it was such a special experience. I saw the old vault and where they would drive the trucks into caves to drop off money and pick up product. I never saw the area you were in tho. Very awesome!! There was a very unspoken seriel killer who apparently worked there as a maintenance man and would tie up his victim with the wiring that was hanging up throughout the tunnels. He actually stuck one of them in an area and fed her only honey buns and soda. I think it was back in the 80s or 90s. They kept it very hush hush and he was abducting ladies of the night alledgedly. I'm a paranormal investigator in the area. I'd absolutely love to meet Larry. He seems like a very awesome dude! Thanks for giving us this tour of the haunt and the tunnels afterward. It was a real treat!!

The Darkness is only slightly haunted, it’s fairly good fun vibes. But Haunting at Lemp is genuinely scary with a heavy negative energy on the entire brewery campus, plus the history of multiple family members committing suicide. Plus one of the employees outside had a real chainsaw that he was waving around way too freely, I was genuinely scared he was going to hurt someone from his carelessness.

A couple of radio DJs famous in st Louis back in the 80s and 90s I think used to do an annual Halloween show from the Lemp Mansion every year. One year they were doing their show as normal and as they were sending it off to a commercial break or a song, there was a voice that came over the radio. It wasn't either one of the DJs and no one else had a microphone. Apparently they didn't hear it, but the phone lines started lighting up and the callers were reporting hearing a creepy voice come over the radio that wasn't either one of them. It very possibly could have been the 1st ever documented EVP caught live on the radio. Of course, I can't be positive if it was a prank put on the by the station or not, but it's st Louis folklore and the people who heard it swear it was the spirit of one of the Lemps. The radio show had never done any kind of prank like that before or after. You'd think if it was a prank, they'd have either admitted it or done it again because of how popular it was and hoe it got people calling in and getting their friends to tune in. It's a pretty cool story that coincides with Lemp history. When they were rebuilding the highway that runs right by the Lemp Mansion, they actually rerouted it and made it jet off to the left right there because they put the mansion on the national historical buildings list and saved it at the last minute. They had to reroute the construction of that stretch of highway cuz otherwise they were going to tear it down and make the highway go straight through. There is all kinds of amazing history in that small little area. There's also a not very well known structure they call the "mural mile" just down the road from there. It's a mile long stretch of flood wall that they allow graffiti artists to come in from around the world and paint their own 12' x 12' section. They paint new murals on it every year. They took a break during covid but this year they just got back to painting it. It's definitely worth visiting. It's completely free and each artists original art is so cool. I love taking people there who come to visit because not very many people know about it.

Hellsgate near Chicago. He did a video on it. The theatrics, the story, and the details, oh my! 10/10 by far my all-time favorite haunt. Wouldn't miss it for the world. Plus, if you fly into Chicago, there are endless other haunted options to explore. We did a few of Troy Taylor's haunted Chicago tours, and they were all astounding. On top of all of that... Chicago is an awesome city to hang out in. There is always something to do.
