soapy bubble trick only works on pressure leaks, not vacuum leaks. Most often with EFI, the ISCM or electronic throttle will compensate for idle speed and you won't hear a jump in idle speed when hitting a leaky spot with propane or flammable spray, or water... but if you watch the short term fuel trim with your handy bluedriver (tm) unit, you can definitely see the trims spike. Here's a feature suggestion, how about incorporating a "beep" tone to the app when fuel trims spike to the negative, to help in this situation...

Great video guys. Been tracking a P1126 lean bank 2 on my Porsche Boxster. Haven’t found anything off yet. So hard to find. Final check will be exhaust. Also the Brake Booster check valve can cause a leak condition as well and easy enough to check. Thanks for the great videos!

Thanks guys, thats really a very Informative video. However i did also learn in the Techschool that the defective EVAP valve or EGR valve can cause lean Conditions and therefore false Fueltrims.

Great video but really wish you guys would make a video about LTFT and STFT using live data. There's a few videos (on KZfaq) out there that don't even require popping the hood to diagnose a problem.

Thank you guys for this great video 👍 . My 1986 Toyota van runs really good on any speed and it also starts right away with no problemo , But sometimes it sputters when I accelerate of a stop , Can a bad fuel pump check vale cause a car to sputter on accelerating ? 🤔

When I make a simple observation, the spark plug was absent from the reasoning. The spark plug gives direction to the topic in terms of fuel injectors. The injector does not overcome the air, and the spark plug is almost clean and different from the rest.

What does after the throttle body mean in the vacuume gauge section? Towards the engine or away? Does the pcv valve line count?

Hi, thanks for this educative video.i have a similar problem where the engine is running lean but when I unplugged the 02 sensor,it ran fine.So I replaced the sensor and the engine ran fine for a dey.the next day ,it begins to run lean.i have not been able to find a leak.thanks for any help from you

I bought aftermarket EGR from Amazon it came with 3 gaskets but I used one and today I sprayed carb spray by the egr and the engine changed. I was wondering should I have used all 3 gaskets,? My engine is stalling and rpm won't stay in sweet spot

Yes..my exhaust flange is leaking causing a rich condition with my ltft in the 15-19%. I have a p1175 code.

One thing they didn’t mention was the fuel pressure regulator. If it’s stuck open more gas will return to the gas tank and less pressure will be in the rail under load. The fuel pressure might be okay at idle but once put under load there might not be enough pressure to keep the engine going.

MEMO TO SELF: First, I am a retired federal safety officer. I see an issue in this video that is very common among most people who own fire extinguishers. The fire extinguisher is placed in the engine bay area. What is the problem? If a fire breaks out IN THE ENGINE BAY, you will have to reach INTO the fire to access the fire extinguisher. BIG problem. Set your fire extinguisher 5’-10’ away from fire potentials. You will still have immediate access to the extinguisher…and keep the hair on your arm. 👍

While driving my short-term fuel trim jumps up randomly to like 12-19 but overall it stays pretty steady +-3. Do you know what might cause that?

I have been using the Blue driver for over a year. I am issues with my 2016 Nissan Altima and the things that are happening should be contradicting what kind of codes that i am getting. Also is there a code that says if a cat converter is bad?

Hey DallasPilotCar! We have a option in our app to send us a support email, if you go to the more tab and tap contact us then select the email option. You can type out what the issues you are seeing are and if you scan your Altima first we will get a log of what is going on behind the scene's a little. The log will auto attach when you use the email option in app.

Smoke machine finds vac leaks fast and EXACT where. No fire extinguisher needed. 120$ for a smoker.

As your tank gets hot pressure inside is supposed to escape charcoal canister then to purge valve then to intake. Take note if this pressure builds after 30 minutes driving your car might start bogging. Reversed pressure sends fuel from injectors back to tank. Lean...lol

Yes, always remember to keep trims no greater than -10 or 10.
