Scotty I have a 95 Nissan maxima 3.0l with the automatic transmission. I have serviced the trans fluid and filter but it seems like it's stuck in 3rd gear or something. It takes off slow but when it gets up to speed it takes off like a rocket but never changes out. My fluid level shows that its accurate. Any suggestions

I'm 21 I just I bought my first car 5 months ago. I didn't know a single thing so when it started acting up i would take it in but they never seem to fix the problem. So I started watching your videos. Turns out it was the MAF SENSOR. Even ford themselves missed it. After that I got tired of paying someone to fuk up my care when I can do it for free. Your video is really made it possible to fix my own car now I can't stop learning about vehicles. And everything around that thank you for your amazing knowledge and all the money your saving us.

I had a problem with my 1998 Toyota Sprinter, it use to take long to pick up when I press the gas pedal but I realized that the manifold had a leak. From I fix it the car as been running so good. Thank you Scott.

Just replaced the MAF sensor on my 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500hd with the 6.0 Vortec. Same issues. Runs like a champ again! Love your videos Scotty!

Just cleaned my air intake filter, but truck is still loosing power after five minutes of driving. Almost couldn't get home. Hopefully the MAF sensor is my issue.

THANK THE LORD YOU POSTED THIS!!! I have a 2002 GMC Yukon XL with 226,000 miles and the truck just threw up both of those codes and the truck runs perfectly fine and the fuel pump was replaced at 200k for preventative maintenance and there was no vaccum leak so I couldn't it out but now hopefully replacing the MAF will help. Thanks!!!

By far the most common issue with this engine when lean codes are present are the intake gaskets and the quickest and sure way to test them is to spray carb cleaner around them with the engine running which results in a change of idle speed if a leak is present. Usually this occurs when the engine is cold because the gaskets are plastic/rubber. I've seen this many times with both sides leaking and sets lean codes. Easy fix: replace the gaskets. MAF sensor failure on this engine are not all that common. (retired ASE Master-GM service)

Hi. Just curious in your experience, is there a good way to test an O2 sensor? other than the check engine light. It seems like the O2 sensor has the final say in the fuel trim values with problems like this and would be harder to diagnose without a specific fault code?

@@wvadam O2 sensors can be tested by a quality multi meter/DVM. There are many videos on KZfaq that can help. However, from what I've seen most techs rely on their shop scan tool to do so.

I had a problem with my diesel Jeep Wrangler in Australia. The connector for the MAF sensor had a hole where a wire would usually go on a petrol Wrangler. My Jeep only used 4 of the 5 wires and water would seep down into the plug. Everytime it rained, I would have to replace the sensor. The wrangler wouldn't start with out it. I fixed it by sealing around the plug with some elctrical silicone. Works great now.

I've been diagnosing my MAF (short of reading waveforms). I just tried the intake gasket test with carb cleaner that you suggest in other vid. Someone else suggested a $20 unit on ebay, but I'm not buying Chinese (buy cheap, buy twice). I'm now going to do the highway speed test you mention, then order a Denso unit online. Glad to get confirmation that 'they just wear out.' At 180k on my Corolla, it may just be time.

Hey Scotty thanks for the video I'm just seeing this after having the same issue with my Lexus IS350. Changed both O2 sensors and my codes went away. Might change my air intake gasket for rest of mind.
