The highest-rated half-hour series in NBC history at the time, Sanford and Son stars Redd Foxx as the cantankerous sexagenarian Fred Sanford and Demond Wilson as his son Lamont, also his business partner in the family junk-dealing business. To prevent his son from leaving home, and bent on having things his own way in general, Fred often calls upon such ruses as fake heart attacks or phony back ailments. Lamont usually sees through these subterfuges, but because he loves his father, he lets him think he's getting his way.

Wow! This made me both happy and sad! Happy, because all of the people I loved the most were alive and well when this episode aired. I can hear and see my grandmother, standing over the stove smoking a cigarette while her father, her sister and brothers, waited to eat while watching “Sanford and Son”laughing and grinning from ear to ear. Sad, because all of them are ancestors now, and the memories are so vivid that just for a moment, they’re still here.

She quite possibly is the best looking woman I've ever seen at 55. Even at 55 she could have given any 20-30ish woman a run for their money. This was around 1972-73 so she would have been in the Pam Grier, Judy Pace, Freda Payne, Denise Nicholas period .

This whole episode is legendary! The show was a historical masterpiece but this episode here was one very close to my heart! Love it so so much I want to know every line and I'm only in my 20s. Lena Horne was so sexy here without trying. Geez I wish they had the whole episode posted up on KZfaq.
