PSYCHO GUITAR! Clapton does all of this without a pedal, without a whammy. Just pure skill, technique, phrasing, timing, control, and emotion. This is everything that lead guitar should be for me.

Those vibratos are clearly carrying this solo. Clapton use arm movement vibrato which is sound more fuller compared to wrist movement vibrato because you can wobble the string stronger resulting in more space for emotion/characteristic.

I’ve been listening to this version for years but with no visuals. It’s my favourite. Clapton’s guitar sounds like a soaring seagull while Harrison’s is more melancholic. A perfect blend. X

Just like you I have been looking for this video when I first heard this version of the song on an mp3 I downloaded on a torrent website. In my opinion this is the best live version of this song. The guitar solo on this is absolutely stunningly amazing. I feel the emotion of the guitar weeping on every note as it plays.

Glad this surfaced . There are so many great and differing versions but so many great artists but this is the most emotive, Eric really making the guitar weep and Georges gentle melodic refrains towards the end...just tasteful and beautiful. Eric looked so emotional towards the end. This clip brought a tears to my eyes...

Just watched this 1991 version, the 2008 party at the palace version with Eric and Mac, the 2019 version with Eric and Frampton, and I have seen all a bunch of older version with combinations of Eric and George, and Mac, Ringo, going back to Bangladesh concert. You can follow this with anything really Eric has done. Eric gets better and better at playing the older he gets and you can see his face, Eric gets happier and happier playing the older he gets.

There's not much left to talk about Clapton, everybody knows that, so I must say George's solo here is really a piece of something. Talks perfectly to what Clapton is doing, not overtakes what the song needs and sounds beautiful as hell. As a teenager I used to dislike Harrison's guitar but now I can understand his playing better and well, the guy's a original and that's a huge thing.

@@martinanderson312 Well, you know, even as a young Beatle nerd his "thin" guitar sound, the huge space between notes and how far he was from all that over the top long and noisy solos wasn't much appealing to me as a Mick Ronson and Neil Young fan. Same thing with Ringo, on the drum side. Nowadays I'm obsessed with Ringo's drumming and Harrison grows more and more everyday. Not just as a guitar player but as a musician in general Harrison is a very very special artist and demands some sort of special hearing to fully get him.

Leonid do you know if the entire shows were pro shot? What’s the story with these two vids? Was there damage or something to the video so they don’t release them?

@@markus5862 No one knows why they never released the entire concert. All we know that the footage they release officially, came from the in house video system. They saved footage from what was shown in the big screens during the concerts. GH's official FB page answered me saying they only "filmed" 5 songs. Which makes no sense. They probably think the video just isnt good enough.

Great song. Also suggest you check the Prince’s Trust concert version on youtube , you will be blown away by the sound and the band line up ( featured Harrison and Ringo Starr, Harrison and Clapton on guitars, Ringo Starr and Phil Colins on drums, Elton John on Piano, Ray Cooper, Jeff Lynne and many others also playing ). Brilliant performance, outstanding sound and a lot of energy.
