In the winter of 2019 I traveled to the rotten old shed that served as my storage unit on a remote piece of property in the Olympic Peninsula region of Washington State. I went there to search for one of my old high school binders so that I could film a flip-through video for KZfaq.
While I was searching through the dilapidated mess, I came across a long forgotten wooden box filled with some of my old art, Star Wars collectibles, music collectibles from the 80’s hair metal era and the 90s grunge rock era, high school notebooks and binders, letters and more.
In this video I will take you on a tour of this long lost box of memories with backstories, photos and video clips from the time!

Am I the only one who gets the nostalgic feeling so strong sometimes it actually hurts? I so wish I had hung on to more things from my childhood to pass on to my kid. Ironically, she adores the 90’s and I could have had so much cool vintage stuff to give her.

Life was so different yes. You guys are right. I'm 51 now and growing up in the 70s 80s n 90s was really interesting and fun. Watching the styles and vibe of things change...went from the dusty groovy 70s to loud tacky 80s then grungy 90s...Truly great times to see and be in the middle of. It was a very different world compared right now..... Wish I was born on this era, on this fantastic decade! Wish I had experienced this as a teenager.... I envy those people who grew up or live in the 70s 80s or 90s where everything was real fun and had no social media or freaking cellphones! .. They didn't know how lucky they were.... It’s bizarre, somehow kids in Washington state in the 80’s seemed to have rare access to video cameras (I’ve seen multiple videos on KZfaq from different people who were teens in the 80’s and they’re all from Washington). I’m 42, grew up in Columbus, Ohio. NO ONE had video cameras when I was young. Not even adults, let alone teens. Maybe it’s just the difference in wealth, as I grew up in poverty. Regardless, I’m glad you and other kids somehow made videos back then because it’s very nostalgic. Also, my initials are JLR. So that is a great song.

I'm from Washington and still have the same camera I had in the 80's. An uncle that my brother and I didn't even know died and had left us a little money, so I bought a video camera with cash, it was $1200, that's a lot of money for a camera, especially in the 80's. I took it with me everywhere. Got footage of us goofing off, partying, cruising, going to the record store, all kinds of stuff! I only have a couple of the tapes left, last time I saw them was in 1990 when I put them in the trunk of a girl's car and never saw them again.

I grew up in the same era as you, except I live in CA. Life is slipping away so fast. I envy the fact that you actually lived your life while I stayed inside without friends listening to music by myself. I’ve still never lived. Thank you for posting. It’s great, but fills me with regret and sadness. All my best. 🤘😔

So great, reminds me of the dumb stuff we used to do back then. We also did the hand drawn memes, some were such classics 🤣 Your transcriptions of the JLR tape sounded so funny. I swear, we had so much more fun back then. I can't imagine taking time for any of this stuff now, and it's a shame. Thanks for sharing this with us.

This channel needs to be documented in the national archives brother! I’m not kidding your documentation of a teen in the eighties is unlike anything I’ve ever seen and it’s better than any eighties movie ever made! Even the ones made in the eighties! This shit is the real deal!!! Get goosebumps and certain smells start hitting my nostrils man the nostalgia factor in this one video is insane!!! Even the porno pics from the ladies, man i remember it all!!! You did the one thing all is eighties kids were mostly unfortunate to never do and that is document and save everything man! My biggest regret is not using the video recorder we had more often in the eighties and nineties! God bless you man you’re a KZfaq treasure bro…

So rad ! Like a trip through time...when things were simple and fun....I miss them 80s and 90s years..... but like you. I have a basement full of my childhood to young adult things that I've dragged around my entire life...it's nice to look at em..play with em...to relive them days once in a while...btw...those star wars figures would not be in a storage unit if they were mine lol...

Wow. Just started watching all your videos. I recently took a drive to my 80s home area and was surprised 10 percent of it, was still there. Would be cool if you followed your hand drawn map and took us on that ride now and showed us the changes. I bet you have video of most of those places to add to the story
