A ten million pound movie - thank god it's not been made because it would be one of those straight to DVD bollocks gangster films starring a load of has-beens from Eastenders and The Bill. Rise of the Foot soldier 2, ID:2, Green Street 3 - you know the sort of shit I'm talking about!

Always respected Lenny although I think there is some evidence that he was a bit of a bully but we turn a blind eye - if anything I lost more respect with Roy Shaw after he played down both of his defeats at the hands of Lenny due to taking the wrong supplements - he was beaten fair and square in my eyes.

Story about Lenny we were cuing up for Camden palace back in the day there was a geezer in the cue acting a prick so Lenny said keep your noise down or il send you to the back of the cue anyway geezer carries on then Lenny came back put his two fingers underneath his arm pits and lifted him with his two fingers and put him to the back of the cue, was brilliant

I enjoyed that and it kind of goes against all the bad stuff said about Dave Courtney as I really doubt lenny would speak highly of Dave if he was a fake like everyone claims ! and Dave does seem well ok !!!
@leesawford8 жыл бұрын
I think - at this time certainly - Dave was the real deal. Although I think he was always a 'side-man' . It was later, when his relevance was questioned that he turned in to a clown. He exaggerated stories and took others as his own for books e.t.c. All that - living in a castle, his rapper girlfriend. Basically , I think, he blew up his relevance for fame and it made him look stupid.
@leroyj68138 жыл бұрын
I reckon dave Courtney is an actor and lenny for what ever give him a gee as he puts it ,there's a lot of money in the "gangster "business.

Is that Dave Courtney? Fuckin hell he looks and sounds so different. The more videos of Lenny that can be posted on You Tube the better. I remember when he was on the door at the Camden Palace.....very menacing but also a fair bloke. Just don't misbehave.
@TheMarkcarmichael38 жыл бұрын
Yes, the bouncers at the Camden Palace were a bit lively from what I remember, was he the one with the boxing glove (in the early days that bouncer only wore the right one as he used to open the door with his left hand).
@markwestwood97308 жыл бұрын
+TheMarkcarmichael3 Don't know about that. I didn't start going till 89 and just remember him at the front door. I was under 18 and he grabbed my chin once, lifted my head up and growled,"You 18", bring ID next week." I shit myself.
@TheMarkcarmichael38 жыл бұрын
+Mark Westwood Ahh, I think it was before his time on the door there then, this was 1980/81, that bouncer would clump people that he didn't like the look of! Different times I guess.....

+TheMarkcarmichael3 I do remember Lenny hitting someone with an iron bar. I've got a feeling he killed the fella. But don't quote me......please.

I like Lenny because he was a gent and did not beat up people weaker than himself (unless they had blades and thought they were 'tough' because of it). Why didn't he just legally go into heavyweight boxing where the real money is. A bit of a dodgy criminal past is not an obstacle as far as my knowledge goes for professional boxing. He'd have beaten Tyson in a fair street fight.
@rogerlephoque37043 жыл бұрын

You do not work in a club to beat people up. You are doing a professional security job. The only time you use force is when you need to restrain someone who is fighting or trying to attack you. Then you use restraint techniques with other doormen to eject them. There is no fighting with them. No punching someone because they said something or because they had drugs. He would never get a licence as a doorman now. You can't go around punching people ffs!
