My dad was burried today an he wanted this song to be played on his funeral service. He listened to this song every day before his death, because it gave him the energy to withstand the pain and his hopeless situation. It's a beautiful song but for me and my familiy it will also be that song that from now on will always make us cry. He was 79.

Thanks for mentioning that, and from your comment I can't quite tell if you are aware or not that it IS actually MJ's voice doing those. If you watch the other version of this video showing Lenny play all the instruments in his studio ("Studio Version") he has a picture of Michael in a chair during those parts. Lenny has said in interviews since that it's a recording he has held onto from a session he was involved in with MJ and that is amazing!

boners2nite very true even though Lenny has confirmed in interviews he used some studio cuttings of old MJ vocals as additional bvs on this song (the whoo's! are original). Hence the slight MJ feel. I only wish they gotta to collaborate more before he passed.

En la línea de su filosofía de apostar por lo realmente importante, al igual que en sus conciertos... sin adornos de imagen ni efectos especiales, vuelta a la esencia de lo que es un artista de verdad. Michaels part was taken from the Unrealesed track "Cant Make It, Another Day" which both Michael and Lenny worked on for the 2001 album Invincible. ultimately its creation did not make the final cut, so it was placed on the shelf. This is almost the perfect song. The composition, harmonies and lead vocal are all divine. The lyrics however, that shit is deep. Timeless classics are hard to come by, this is however one of them. This is one of the tunes I’m bowing out to when the time comes

This is an ode to British R&B and American Funk if I ever heard it. I hear elements of David Bowie and Freddy Mercury, Nile Rodgers and Chic, George Michael's work with Deon Estus, Sade's band, Junior Giscombe, complete with Rod Temperton's productions of Michael Jackson. Don't sleep on Lenny. He has always given credit to the GOATS. This shit goes so hard. I love it... AND HIM!

Ron Martineau you can hear it from the outset and throughout the entire song. The drum beats are from Under Pressure. The synth at the beginning is reminiscent of Another One Bites the Dust. The congas: Junior Giscombe's Mama Used To Say Rhythm Guitar: Nile Rodgers Bass Guitar: Deon Estes (Bassist for George Michael) and the bassist for Sade Chord Structure for Background Vocals: Reminiscent of productions for George Michael and Seal Horn Arrangements: Temperton's arrangements for The Jacksons and Michael Jackson's Off The Wall Then, there's Michael's famous ad lib.

Lenny is a musical genius. Digging out such a melody is the mark of a great songwriter and sound arranger. I particularly love the song's end, which starts at 3.24 with the horns and brass chiming in and the heavenly backing vocals. A real diamond. Hats off.
