The Lenovo Duet 3 Chromebook is a very exciting 11-inch tablet because thanks to its Chrome OS software, it's better than most Android tablets in some ways. For instance, it'll get updates until 2030. We also get the full desktop version of the Chrome browser. Another advantage is that Chrome OS can be used very well with a mouse and keyboard.
It's not perfect, however. The Lenovo USI Pen 2 is okay only but certainly not great. I also wish the battery life would be longer. And while the Google Play Store is preinstalled and you can install Android apps, the Android environment is based on Android 9 only.
With that being said, I love that the keyboard cover is included. That makes it a great choice for students.

After having had Android tablets for 10 years, I now have the Duet 5 for about 6 months. It is amazing, I think I never go back to Android tablets again. Especially the full chrome browser is a big plus. I mostly use it as a tablet for browsing and media consumption, don't use pen and keyboard a lot.

I wish for a Duet 5 with LTE and insta buy :) ...I would still like a better speaker and wireless charging - the battery life is great

@@fhwolthuis 10inch is already too big, i am on a 600g chuwi hi10x 10inch. i now dig out a 300g 8inch asus m80ta for win10. what suck is only 32bit.

For me, Duet 5 still gets my vote. The Duet 3 has higher 2K resolution and a smaller battery than the Duet 5, so battery life won't be on par. Plus, the Duet 5 has a more standard 16:9 aspect ratio, which is great for gaming and video. With that being said, I do want to see a comparison between a Lenovo Android tablet, like the Tab P11 Plus or the Tab P11 Pro, and a Lenovo Chromebook tablet like this one.

I agree with many who use Duets for handwritten note taking that Duet 5 has too narrow bezels for comfortable holding in tablet mode and display in portrait mode is too narrow for note making. Duet 3 is better for handwritten note taking.

I have the duet 5 128 GB. The only gripe with Lenovo is that they failed to include micro sd card. Hoping the next iteration 90 or 120 Hz and micro sd slot.

I don't care much about high screen refresh rate, but a microSD card slot and a headphone jack should be standard for the next Chromebook Duet.

Great review. Not something I would buy; nothing against Chromebooks; I have a Pixelbook Go, just not sold on them as a tablet. They are still a work in progress; would def heed your advice and get the Tab S8 Lite instead!

I agree that the Duet 3 would be a better alternative with a similarly-sized Android tablet. I have a Lenovo P11 Plus, and if it was my primary tablet, I would consider buying the Duet 3 to replace it. For me, though, an 11-inch tablet is just too big and too heavy to carry around and hold up. I bought a Lenovo M9 last month. I now use it daily.

one important thing for me - I can play cloud games (GeForce NOW) with full keyboard and mouse support - not possible on android

I think that if you manage to get a surface go 2 or 3 for a similar price it's an even better deal and device... unless you don't like Windows... and as long as it's either a M3 for the 2 or a pentium for the 3 (which are basically the same chiip, while the old pentiums are slow). I got an open box go 2 with M3, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD and LTE for 300 with the type cover... And it has all the advantages of this one plus all the Windows apps (again, provided that you are ok with Windows, or that like me, it's your favorite OS). For touch Android and iPadOS are better, but I don't think ChromeOS is much better than Windows and honestly I can still use Windows just with touch and would take the tradeoff for the much increased functionality any day as a general purpose device... As a home device however, I much prefer the iPad pro ( but that's another class of device and price point)

That's interesting. Chrome os is a much lighter os requiring far less powerful hardware than Windows to run smoothly. Hence theoretically Windows devices with low powered cpu are worse than budget chrome os tablets in fluidity. Also this should never be anyone's only system. Rather a handheld or portable internet /media device.

I don't think Google has yet to verify Mediatek's latest ChromeOS SoC, so it'll be a while before we can see that coming.

Most Chromebooks are still on Android 9. Very few get Android 11, let alone Android 12L.

I must say, I just make win10+bitlocker+secureboot live with refind and fydeos. my beast is chuwi hi10xr, celeron n4100 6GB ram, 128GB emmc. (also have lenovo duet 3i x86). When I boot into windows10, it can perform works that android/chromebook cant do. When I boot into fydeos, it ran as chromebook+android(yes, fydeos specific). The ONLY downside is whenever I reboot the system, I have to enter the uefi to check and correct the secureboot status: on for win10+bitlocker, off for refind+fydeos. those tricks that make refind work /w secureboot is not meaninful, because windows support that, but information on how to use that with fydeos is rare.

I'm considering this tablet. I just need something to take work notes that I can then save and upload to OneDrive or Microsoft Teams. I'm thinking this won't work with the Microsoft teams app but will work with the browser version. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

@@-TheRealThing- Not necessarily. Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 has comparable performance to Snapdragon 730G, and it's still as fast today.

There's no way anyone will be using that in 8 years... That Snapdragon will be 8-10 versions behind... Will Lenovo even support the hardware in 8 years? Just because you can, doesn't man you should...

The 7c Gen 2 is the equivalent of 730, 730G, and 732G, and they are still a capable SoC in 2022. The only area where I don't think it'll last long enough is the eMMC internal storage. I want to see PC brands that makes Windows or ChromeOS tablets with ARM SoC to embrace UFS storage. Even UFS 2.2 is more than enough.

My mi pad 5 is so better then tha duet 5 in much less cost 4 speaker 120hz display Atmos support besides the software mine is great in so many ways ....

@@farishanafiah8461 at the end of day it comes down to experience just because they give 8 yrs software update hardware quality hasn't to be that worse if mi pad was not launched actually I bought a duet only glad I'm not bought otherwise I would regret that decision.

@@arjunjawahar8110 at the end of the day mi pad 5 have IPS screen when duet 5 has Samsung AMOLED . Duet is actually cheapest 13.3 tablet with oled screen . It's also 16:9 making duet a unbeatable Netflix machine . I also use duet as external screen for my steam deck . For web browsing and movies duet in this price range is unbeatable , if you want to game and really need 120hz mi pad is better .

The Fydetab is nothing but a concept as far as I'm concerned. Until I see a video with an actual product rather than renders, you should assume that it's not coming out.
