Someone should make a printable backplate that supports the mod.

Glad to see you finally got that adapter to mount the SSD internally instead of the external set up that you were using with magnets. This set up will work much better but will just have to monitor the temperature of the SSD when gaming. Good video!

Thanks. Just for info: Legion already has 2 strong magnets inside, at the base. This is how the kickstand is closed at the base. Magnets have no effect on ssd or components, as long as you don’t use 1kg magnet :)

Ladies and gentlemen. The adapter he is using is a Modified Transfer Board For Legion Go SSD Memory Card Adapter for NVME M.2 2242. They're available on Amazon if you're in the states like me.

Hey dude. Did you clone your original ssd to the 4tb ssd before installing or did you do a fresh setup with a recovery usb? Could you please shed some light on how you got the 4tb ssd going with windows and all the correct legion go specific drivers etc. Thanks for the great video 😊

How is 4Tb SSD Doing now ? Have you experienced any issues caused by increased SSD power consumption ?
@StevetheMartin23 күн бұрын
the 512 SSD was wrapped in foil, would it make sense to have a copper heatsink or thermal pad and foil on the new one? would they fit? ...more cutting...

What adaptor did you use?
@C0VlD-193 ай бұрын
You can use macrium reflect free trial and do a 1to1 SSD copy before switching ssd's so you don't have to do recovery or loose anything on the original SSD.

Thanks legend. Got it. I have been reading the ssd temperature's are crazy for majority of the 2280 ssd. Has anybody had any luck managing the temps better? I wish someone makes a custom backplate that rises out a bit more and allows for better heat dissipation.

exactly , this is how i have done it and it worked perfectly

1. What type of Flash drive is that? (Name & where to buy it?) 2. What are the steps needed to make that Flash drive a recovery drive for the Legion Go? Is it possible to make a video guide for it?

Hey mate, i just did this with a Kingston 4tb 2280 ssd, but im having a huge issue when unplugged and running it on battery, the disk activity is spiking like hell from 0-40-72-100% disk usage and games are unplayable cause it stutters every second... do you know what might cause this?, Its so weird cause as soon as i plug it into the AC adapter it vanishes and is smooth as hell.. Would be lovely with some feedback on this please!.
@MGTMaxGamesTech2 ай бұрын
Strange… My first idea, I would recommend this: Check the power plan in windows battery settings. It seems that you don’t run on performance without cable. Maybe you made the settings for unplugged to run on a lower profile. Windows will switch them automatically. Probably this is the problem. Check those settings. Otherwise, if this is not the problem, I would recommend to try with another 2280 ssd to see if you get the same behavior.

You're apparently on the power threshold with the ssd being used.

Did you keep the 4tb installed? Any over heating?
@MGTMaxGamesTech10 күн бұрын
No problems here. Definitely it will generate more heat, but I had no problems.

It's just plastic and can be easily cut using flush cutters or, the better choice, nail clippers.
@philchia4764Ай бұрын
mate, avoid the microfibre cloth. Ideally use a silicone antistatic. Microfibre can zap your components.

My new ssd does not show in the bios boot order , I have cloned to the new drive (2242) size any ideas?
@thatonegamer27092 ай бұрын
Technically you shouldnt have to boot into bios after that.. you can automatically start your legion and itll work as if it was the original ssd...thats why its clone:::

@@thatonegamer2709 Thanks for replying. The problem was the SSD I bought was an NFFG SSD. THANKS AGAIN 👍

NVME drives go in at a 45 degree angle and then bend down, not pushing straight in, 116 k subs and you struggle with an NVME. bro....
@dracwula2 ай бұрын
I would of done 1.5TB MicroSD + 2TB PCIe M.2 and stay with in the form factor specifications and wait for next year's release of newer density 2242 SSDs 😂
