Why you didn't separte cooler from CPU, on my t440s the cpu has two metal surfaces, only one was with thermal paste, the other without it. Why is that so?

Thanks for posting this video it doesn’t look too hard at all. So I bought a i5-4300u T440s from a pawnshop cheap. Bios is password protected tried resetting using the dissattatch cmos battery 30 mins method but that didn’t work Wanna buy a motherboard was wondering if it’s possible to upgrade to the i7 version? Any places you’d suggest to get a motherboard? Would I need different parts for the new aftermarket motherboard if I can go to i7? Thanks man

Hello, Just a follow up : I successufully swapped the t440s motherboard for a t450s one. The layout and connectors are all the sames, compatible memory, compatible wireless card and compatible heatsink / fan. Thanks for the great video !
