First time viewer of your reviews and it was awesome! Not too over-techy and in language this mostly tech-challenged user could understand. Thank you for that! Our school district got a few of these for us this spring so I am trying one out over the summer. So far it is everything you say. Once I use it in the classroom while not at my desk, I think it will be a bit on the heavy side to carry around. Time will tell. I do medical transcription as a side job, and keyboard touch is something I am sensitive to. The L13 keyboard feels great and is very responsive. The pen has a great feel, too. I will be able to say more when I put it to official classroom use next fall. But thanks for letting me know what to expect!

Which one is better between the hp spectre x360 i5 version and the L13 yoga i7 version ? For some lite video editing, the Iris Plus graphic card in the spectre is better you think ? I'm hesitating because they are both about the same price and I think that i5 processor should be enough altough for the same price I would go for the L13 i7, but I don't know about the graphic cards though

Can't decide between the Thinkpad L13 Yoga and the Thinkpad X1 Yoga 4th generation with i7 (don't really care about windows 10 home or pro). I'd love to have the X1 4th Gen, but the price of the L13 is cheaper and it offers good quality too. I am looking for a laptop that integrates a powerful software+hardware and the flexibility of a tablet. In my search I went straight away to the Lenovo web page since I consider is a rough, good quality brand, and I love it. I purchased their tablet, Lenovo yoga book YB1-x90F, which runs amazingly with android, wanted to upgrade it but the next version comes with windows 10 only... and that OS in tablets doesn't feel like a good combination to me. I would stay with this one but my little sister is in college now and she will give great use to my tablet, so I will give it to her because I love her, despite I love that tablet too. Plus my current laptop's (HP Envy 3165ngw) processor is so slow it's a challenge for my patience. So it's time for an upgrade and I want 2 in 1, and no other brand than Lenovo is currently offering what I want. However, I am poor too, hence my indecision between these two great laptops. I am thinking that in the far future I will thank myself if I invest in the Thinkpad X1 4th gen... But that means I need to save more money and bare with my poor hp for longer. If I can play Skyrim and edit youtube videos with the X1, then I shall wait, if not, then I remain indecisive :D By the way, Thank you so much Andrew for your videos and reviews. It's everything so objectively well explained, very detailed and you try every feature of the devices. I've made all my research in your channel

They just released a “Gen 2” of this laptop. MSRP of $1500, but coupons brought it to ~$850 plus tax for Black Friday. Includes i7-1165G7 with 16 gb RAM, 512 gb SSD, WiFi-6, and a thunderbolt 4 port, and otherwise is the same as the Gen 1. I picked one up as I don’t see anything else with those specs for that price, what are your thoughts?

i need a laptop but i dont know what to go for this just makes it confusing. ssd: 1 tb ram: 16 gb basically those are the only specs i need. in terms of processing i dont know what will be overkill for me or not. i basically wil be coding on this laptop alot of chrome browsers and multiple screens but a dock will fix that. then i will maybe render cad files here and there over the next few years. so if i get something where i plug an external gpu in just to do those renders and cut down on the laptop price would be ideal. i want to look at the lenovo range unless recmmended elsewhere.

@ctaylors109
@ctaylors109 4 жыл бұрын
a LOT more accurate than the HP X360 Envy. It's pretty darn close to writing on paper. The only thing I notice is that sometimes it connects strokes of my pen with a straight line, but I think that may be due to the give of the screen and my particular swoopy handwriting. BTW, the Envy turns my handwriting into a 1st grade nightmare.

The pen on these yogas only lasts for like 2 hrs before needing to be recharged, which is a major headache for someone wanting to take notes on this device. So the screen and pen feature on these is very weak compared to other solutions and your reviews fails to point this out.

It should also be pointed out that it takes less than a minute to recharge the pen, since it's not powered by a battery but a capacitor.

@@picitnew really? One minute to recharge?
@picitnew
@picitnew 4 жыл бұрын
@@wilfredopacheco3708 Yes. It's not powered by a battery but by a capacitor. It littearly takes less than 30 seconds to recharge the pen to about 80 % potenial. But it's annoying each time it stops working though :) And a capacitor isn't able to store the energy over time just as good as a battery can. So you should always store it in the computer when it's not in use. PS! As a teacher I'm using this computer on a daily basis so this is my own experience of the PC. That said, I prefer the Surface and it's pens way over Lenovo. Even my six years old Surface perfoms better with it's non-active pen. No batteries and no problem when I'm writing with my hand laying on the screen.

The cheap starting price is for cheap configuration. Nearly $700 for a dual core i3 is just insanely bad decision and starting price. That processor is not suitable for any kind of even moderately demanding tasks in 2020. Since performance difference is literally negligible between 8th gen whiskey Lake and 10th Gen Comet Lake CPU, I think people should be better off with the previous gen version which comes with quad core i5-8265U at this price point and the performance is way better.
