The screen that I got is pretty dim. Is yours the same? I got mine from laptop screen

You may need to calibrate it or change the color settings within windows.

Used this as a reference to upgrade W540 FHD 1080 to the 3K Toshiba screen... but something went wrong and with new 40-pin cable + FHD screen the display is just green vertical bars :( Swapping back to old screen+cable and everything is working fine.

I see! Did you have to buy anything besides just the screen and 40-pin cable to make the screen work (e.g. top cover)? Do you mind sharing a link of the items you bought? I'm strongly considering upgrading my W540. Thanks

@@whatabouthobob3452 All I needed was the 40-pin and panel since I have an original FHD equipped, afaik only the 720P models needed extras like top cover etc. When I got the 3K screen it mounted up perfectly, just didn't work at all. Still waiting for the replacement part to arrive via Aliexpress after nearly 3 months so I will be sure to share the PN's after it arrives and I test it working.
