This is a pretty compelling product for my workflow - which often benefits from dual screens. Any given week might include transferring tons of copy from a text editor to a photo editor, fixing images in a photo editor while setting up tours in Pano2VR, managing assets while using XCode, cleaning huge XLS files while managing uploads to a texting service, editing videos while creating 3D assets in Blender... With an offboard GPU enclosure to support heavy rendering, this would be a fantastic tool for working in a parked car or in a waiting room somewhere (I'm in both a lot).

Personally, I think that webcam and & mic sounded better than a lot of others. And as someone who trades on the go, this seems like a really good multiscreen setup, for having multiple charts up.

Great Video as always. Yoga 9i looks like a cool work station, the battery life is very nice for two 13.3 inch screens running at a high resolution with OLED. Thankfully, it has Atmos speakers that can at least give a comfortable environment for sound work without headphones. The iris video card is integrated, but more than enough to have no problems with most apps besides video games. I love gimmicks like these, but i have to be honest as an artist who needs a pen and music composer, this might be getting a little too gimmicky, especially for the price. I be better off with a bigger screen yoga oled tablet with a higher refresh rate, pen mouse and keyboard. but don't get me wrong, i'm still glad this exist and Lenovo is experimenting with new concepts.

There is a lot to like on the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i from the gorgeous OLED dual screens to the beautiful teal color of the laptop, the clear 1080p webcam and the built-in array mics. This is a niche product for sure which will fascinate tech nerds and enthusiasts alike. Having said that, the starting price of $1999.99 and the fact that it does not come with USB-A ports, no SD Card and no headphone jack might be negatives to some people. For a Windows laptop, I think the sound coming out of the internal speakers is very good, however, no comparison with the audio of the MacBook Pro. All and all, we need to congratulate Lenovo for Always being innovative!! Brilliant review Andrew and I applaud you for all your hard work! 👏😁

Interesting product. Duel screens is something of a novelty. Like the fact that they include 3 USB-C ports. This way two are available when plugged in. Camera looked good. Sound was good. Just think if this was a Microsoft product they would probably charge the same price for the base unit and then charge extra for the keyboard and mouse and pen and stand. Would have been nice to have the capability to be able to swap out the SSD and have at least one USB-A port. Still and interesting PC. Great "First Look" review.

great start. in the full review please check the widgets on the lower display with keyboard attached for configuration/customization. in the predecessor (yoga book c930) the outlook widget was not customizational at all - including a different email client. please also check for disturbing reflection from the lower display, especially in rooms with ceiling light

it's cool - i hope they make the screen a little larger like 14" - that's very helpful when writing code on the left while watching its output on the right.

Great review as always, too bad the ram is soldered. This vertical dual monitor is my current setup, i'm using 15.6 portable monitor + thinkpad laptop + laptop stand + external keyboard and mouse. Using the portable monitor on top of the thinkpad keyboard, much cheaper solution to test out if the setup works for my workflow. And i'm loving it!!!

Cool product. Just a question. What is underneath the actual keyboard that it doesn't scratch the screen, and is there a possibility that whatever it is could fall off or erode and end up scratching the screen?

I'm a big fan of different form factors. I was impressed with some of the ideas and solutions Lenovo has come up with to bring a device that revolves around 2 screen laptop and portable (the weight of the device alone is fairly amazing for 2 screens with today's screen technology and CPU/thermals). All the hardware appears to be high quality as well. The combo-approach of both touch screen option for keyboard/touchpad or physical input with bt keyboard (very nice it can be positioned at variable ranges) is good too. The stand looks like it gives a good viewing angle when both screens are lateral and using a keyboard. It's difficult to gauge how successful the total product is considering the innovation is very "bleeding-edge". I guess it could be most closely compared to say a MBA + iPad that uses Universal Control or SideCar sharing for that portable 2 screen experience? The benefit with this device is how it's integrated and flexible and I guess once you start using these people will want more of it for work flows that work better with 2 screens, for example used for coding it might feel very comfortable. It feels like there's more exciting tech innovations to come with energy efficiency, (and battery) screen technology (thinner, lighter, brighter) and as such form factors eg touch, multiple screens. Edit: Forgot to say! Oustanding review with chocked to the gills with the full details and specs and demonstrations! Awesome as always, and a cut above.

It is noticeable in ultra performance mode but most of the time I ran in balanced mode and it was very quiet. For me not much of an issue

Did you test an external GPU? I saw a user in a forum that said it didn't work and speculation was that software running the dual-screen setup was getting in the way.

Serious question, how much more powerful is the intel chip in this - when the laptop is unplugged - than the latest and greatest snapdragon chip? I’m guessing it ends up less powerful there. Windows really, really, REALLY needs a proper ARM version to allow products like this to be made with the latest Qualcomm chips. This would be a way more compelling device with one in it. Battery life would go through the roof. I do love the design; it seems practical, with a variety of actually useful real world use cases.

Would be great if the sell a keyboard with a physical touchpad like Asus or the samsung book cover for tablets. I dont see that digital touchpad very comfortable. Thats a dealbreaker for me

Apart from that, I guess you have to be extra careful with scratches isnt it? To always clean that area before use it with you fingers.
