Yes, that is usually important for people.

A couple of other nits about the laptop in case it helps others: 1) the power button is on the side, which is extremely annoying because I like to sit with the laptop between my legs and I accidentally turn it off sometimes. Quite annoying, no idea why they wouldn't just put it on the top like everyone else. 2) i really hate the coloring of the keyboard, especially with the backlight. it's white-on-white, and the backlighting on the keys is very wide, so the outlines of the keys glow more than the actual letters do 3) the lid of the laptop can be opened with 1 finger, but i wish there was a little indent in the center to make it easier to get your finger inside, like the MacBooks do. Instead, there's almost an inverse indent, to make space for the Windows Hello IR camera and stuff. Not a huge deal, but a minor annoyance until I got used to it. 4) the battery life is quite poor on my laptop, though I have the i7 with an RTX 3050, so that's a bit more understandable. still, coming from an M1 Pro macbook, it's a big step down.

Super interesting! Comparing strictly with the MBP14 is hard - I think you have to compare to other Windows laptops to have a balanced perspective. Thanks for all the input! :)

how's the fan noise? Can you hear it in office/web browsing/youtube tasks?

I have a pretty fancy Belkin thunderbolt dock. Interesting to hear you also had some issues. It's not happened to me on any other yoga model...

I think they have low to medium actuation force. I also have a hard time with higher actuation force but none of the laptops I tried from Lenovo I think have it. Maybe this is a matter of definition and personal preference too.

@@w2best yes it is 100% a matter of personal preference, I am sure someone else wouldn’t find my keys to have a high actuation force. But I am dealing with wrist pain so I am far more sensitive to it :P that’s why I hunt down the beast keyboard possible (for when I am away from my ergonomic keyboard at home). I would have one last question ! If you still have the Lenovo Yoga 7i, do you find one of the two have keys that require less force to press ? I am on the fence of ordering one of the two for Black Friday, and this is a determining factor for me (because of wrist pain) and I might choose the one with softer keys.

It is silent. Seems very different from unit to unit or different skus.

I have no option to test it, but I can say with my Belkin thunderbolt dock it didn't work great. I don't know whether it would work with the thinkpad one.

​@@w2best Hi, now i can anser you, this Dock works great with the 7i ProX. Only the Power Button doesn´t work, but all other things. Bevor i have test a Lenovo Legion, but there are many problems with that dock (Thinkpad Univeral Thunderbolt 4 Dock). For my Setup: Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i ProX with i7 / 32GB DDR5 6000 plugged one USB C to the Dock (include power for the Yoga). The Lenovo Montior runs with 120Hz. On The Dock are plugged 2x 32Zoll 4K with 60Hz (for Work) and 1x32Zoll 2K with 165Hz, Network and Sound. All works without problems. Now when Lenovo update the Firmware, for functionality the power button, there is a "dream team" 🙃👍✌.

I got the I5 with rtx 3050. Battery life is poor. I got 7h of youtube playback. If you can, go AMD. If you need thunderbolt, an I7 P processor is not too far off an i5 H. Something like 20% less performance. But battery life will be better and IGPU will be too.

It's def not running all the time. Screen is 400 nits but has been measured brother. :)

I've not been able to make it work with mine. But in general I have issues with Windows 11 and eGPU. I hope it works for you!!

That monitor is 165hz and it's working fine on the high refresh rate as long as I don't use the docking station.

@@greatbritain1406 Yes, but of course you can't play a game in 165 fps... I played overwatch 2 on the external monitor and got 60fps though, even on battery power.

Have you tried to set the max CPU usage at 50% or so? You can find it in the „Energy Settings“ - Energy Mode - Advanced settings (not sure how it is called in English). There you can set a maximum CPU usage in battery mode. Maybe this helps. I had this laptop too but wasn’t satisfied with the fan noise. When I watched a KZfaq video they turned on every few minutes …

I'm not sure I'll have the budget to get 2 models, unfortunately.
