Leonard Nimoy said that Spock on Star Trek was the first steady acting job he had as an actor, but after that he had regular acting and presenting jobs thereafter. I don’t think he or anyone else realized it at the time, but the character of Spock would become one of the 10 most influential TV characters in the 20th century.
