Ago-Ate is a simple technique, but difficult to execute. Widely seen in Sumo, but with another Aikido intent, it is also found in Rugby, as Stiff-arm fend or fend off. Many groups do not consider it a technique in itself, but a variation, whether of Tenchi Nage, Irimi Nage, or even Sumi Otoshi and Kokyu Nage.
In the video, I explore what in my view is the simplest way to apply this technique, as well as some possible variations that I use in my practice.
