Lepakshi | Veerabhadra Temple | One day trip from Bangalore

Sri Veerabhadra Temple, Lepakshi is around 130 kilometers from Bengaluru. This was our first long ride together and we thoroughly enjoyed the Bangalore Hyderabad highway.
This travel video in Malayalam covers not only this mysterious temple, Nandi Statue and the Jatayu theme park, but also the Vineyards, Rose and Yellow Marigold fields on the sides of the National Highway.
You can also get to know the history of Lepakshi Veerabhadra temple.
As few online sources claim, the hanging pillar in Lepakshi has nothing to do with anti-gravity or levitation. The pillar by an act of a British architect has slightly changed its position and only one of the for corner touches the ground.

This story about the British engineer is now being retold on social media as him trying to move the pillar to actually understand how it is not touching the ground, but since the other columns started moving threatening to collapse the temple, he stopped and couldn't solve this fascinating mystery. :)

രണ്ട് കാര്യങ്ങൾ കാണിക്കാൻ വിട്ടുപോയി അവിടെ ഒരു വലിയ footprint ഉണ്ട് അത് കാണിച്ചില്ല, പിന്നെ veerupanna കണ്ണുകൾ എടുത്തു എറിഞ്ഞ മതിൽ കാണിച്ചില്ല, പിന്നെ നന്ദിയും നാഗലിംഗം തമ്മിൽ കണക്ഷൻ ഉണ്ട് നന്ദിയുടെ മുകളിൽ കയറി നോക്കിയാൽ നാഗലിംഗം കാണാൻ പറ്റും, പഴയ ലേപാക്ഷി ടെംപിൾ ഉള്പ്പെടുത്താന് nandi പ്രതിമ അതിനോട് ചേർന്നിട്ടുള്ള മതിൽക്കെട്ടുകൾ അമ്പലവും വർഷങ്ങൾക്കു മുൻപ് വെള്ളപ്പൊക്കത്തിൽ നശിച്ചു പോയതാണ്.

Thanks a lot 😊. Other than the temple, you can go to this Jatayu theme park which is close to Nandi Statue. Also walking/driving through the village is fun. I cannot think of anything other than this at LePakshi.

Lepakshi: A Temple with 7 wonders ! Believed that this footprint is of Mata Sita. Some says it's of Bhagwan Hanuman Ji. Interestingly, this footprint is always wet, water from underneath constantly sipping & washing this foot. And.... The source of this water is unknown !
