In passe compose don't we have to put the coi/cod before the second verb that is after etre/avoir ?

In passe compose,cod coi is placed before the first verb...but when its two verbs with no passe compose its placed before the second verb

The series for personal pronouns goes like this: COD, COI, Y, EN It is *always* in this order. By the way, I'm a French myself! I was looking for videos for my cousin....she has her exam soon and I'm very lazy to explain it myself.

Are you sure that lui contracts to lu'? Everywhere else i check its shown that lui remains as lui

Nope, lui is always lui even if it comes before a vowel. Lui never contracts.

She's correct, It's "Je lu' ècris une lettre" because of of vowel clash lui and ècris can't be put together I in lui and E in ècris
