I watched this episode and thought “Elijah's going to have a field day with this one.” Especially after I saw the end

Fandom: Why did Philip become Belos? Was he cursed? Did the brother die and that traumatized him? What happened? Canon: Nah, he was always a hateful dick.

I love that in the beginning when Luz is watching Phillip's diary, and it's talking about the collector, we see Phillip's shadow with two other obscured figures. At the time it doesn't mean much but after watching the episode you realize that the other people were Luz and Lilith.

One of my favorite, most understated lines in this episode is when Phillip is talking about his experience finding the glyphs, saying it "took him years to find them, as if the world wanted to hide them from me." It's really fascinating, especially in contrast with Luz's experience finding the glyphs, where she was practically "presented" with all four of em over the course of like, 3 months? If they were "hiding" from Belos, they were practically SCREAMING to be found by Luz (maybe even Luz SPECIFICALLY, considering its implied that King didn't even see the light glyph in the video Luz took of Eda casting the light spell in "The Intruder.") I am really curious about these implications, whatever they are.

i saw someone on twitter mention that belos’ “teleportation glyph” looked like an atomic structure. i did a little bit of research and with some help from fellow twitter users, was able to find that the glyphs seem to represent different atoms. it’s difficult to explain without visuals, but basically the glyphs or “atoms” consist of helium, beryllium, lithium, sulfur and possibly oxygen, yet it’s still iffy since the picture isn’t too clear. but basically if you take the atoms and piece them together, you get: he, be, li, o, s. unscramble ‘em a bit and you get “he is belos.” whoever came up with that easter egg is a genius.

When Terra told Luz "The Emperor says he's looking forward to meeting you, human" and Amity and the rest of us were confused because "Didn't you already meet?" Was that referencing that Belos knows about the first time him and Luz met? And he knows that it was going to happen soon, he knew that soon Luz would travel back in time and meet him for the first time.

Theory: Philip realized that Luz was from the future not long after first meeting her and he put his diary in the library knowing she would find it someday

Theory: When Terra said that the emperor like wants to meet Luz again (I don't remember how it goes but it kinda sounds like that), I think this episode explains why the emperor wants to see her again 'cause the emperor will like get revenge or something.

It’s pretty obvious Luz’s actions regarding glyph magic inadvertently influenced Philip after that shocking reveal toward the end. In theory, this must explain why in the present day does Belos seem knowledgeable over Luz’s presence.

The details in this show are so precise. In Philip's diary, you can actually see that he remembers Luz and Lilith because on in front of The Collector's door, there's two people standing next to Philip but they're scratched out and they're clearly meant to be Lilith and Luz.

In episode 11, snapdragon told Luz that belos looks forward to seeing her. And the connection is beautiful! (Edit: I uh, I posted this comment before watching thy vid. But love how you pointed it out as well 😂!)

I´m from a not so urban area and even though I allways pas pro LGBTIQ+ I never saw these things in the society of my little village. A couple of years ago I got into political activism in the next big city and I got the chance to understand what this topic realy means for members of the LGBTIQ+ community since I got into contact with such people for the first time. One day we started a protest camp next to the town hall and a young lesbian woman was part of the group. She just lived who she was no matter how loud, how collorfull, joyfull and emotional... She didn´t give a f*ck about what homophobic people would say, she needed space for her self, her emotions, for who she was just as a human and she took this space. It was one of the most inpiering things I have seen. You remind me so much of her. It´s so wondefull to see how beautifull it is for you to see homosexuality portraied in this show. Big WOW. Thanks for speaking out to thousands of people and inspiering them to see a better world.

When he said "my companions did not" It translated to luz and lilith I keep hearing that their actions change time But I believe that their actions ib going back in time was sort of destiny When they went to the past and met philip, it was like fate was sealed It just feels like their actions translatef to the present day.

My NEW theory about why he went from being right-handed as Philip to left-handed as Belos is simple: as we can see, the glyph-curse starts on his right arm. And if you go back to the beginning of 2x06, the muddy arm he uses to punch a wall is also the right one. I think that, because the curse started there, that part of him is the most fucked up (which says a lot because he’s an all-around fucked up dude). 19:29 It's known as "Chekov's Gun". The basic idea is that if in the first chapter, you mention a rifle hanging on a wall, then that rifle must be fired in a later chapter. Basically, detaisl that are specifically called out/brought up MUST be relevant later on.

So I have a theory: Belos said “It took years to find them. Almost as if the world wanted to hide them from me,” it sounded like he was saying the Titan was trying to hide the Glyphs from him and he didn’t have the light Glyph yet but Luz has found most, if not all the Glyphs, she just didn’t know about the teleportation Glyph until that episode. So it took a few months maybe a little bit longer to find the Glyphs but Belos said it took years for him to find all the Glyphs. So what if the Titan made it really hard for Belos to find the Glyphs but the Titan made it easier for Luz to find the Glyphs because she is a better person then Belos will ever be, so the Titan trust Luz a whole lot more then he trust Belos. The Titan still made it challenging for Luz because she still had to open her eyes for the symbols and she continues to use the Glyphs for good unlike Belos. And I also wonder if the Titan gave Luz this ability to prepare for the Day Of Unity because he knows she is going to need all the help she can get and Belos is using the Titan’s name to feed his selfishness and the Titan doesn’t want that so he gave Luz the ability and friends she will need to stop Belos and the Day Of Unity.

I am amazed how Philip/Belos can still remember Luz and Lilith in detail. Centuries into the future.

After seeing the finale, the glyphs being hidden from Philip had such a brand new meaning

Luz has the wood. Eda has the hands. Del has the know how. Making Luz’s Palisman is gonna be a family affair.

Wait a minute, Luz in theory has an ample amount of titans blood at her disposal. Just think about, she could go through a time portal to the right time period and just carefully collect more of it. If that works, then she should have enough to easily travel between realms.

Also note that Amity’s eclipse necklace looks like one of the keys to the collector.

Elijah! Just to let you know, this is a huge call-back all the way to the episode where Belos had said, *"But then you showed up"* to Luz! He was talking about the day Luz went into the past, and triggered his hatred for Wild Witches and Wild Magic. He probably lost his brother to that weird spell thing on his arm as well. He's either using Hunter for himself, or a clone of his brother if we had to take a guess!

This is already one of my favorite episodes. Luz and Lillith's dynamic, time travel, meeting Phillip, and more Clawthorne family drama. Just an all-around amazing episode.

Whe Philip and Luz were talking about glyphs he said it took him years to find them. He said it was like the world was hiding them from him. Luz was able to find them all in just a few weeks, and the titan practically gave her the ice glyph. Clearly the titan knew there was something wrong with him from the beginning.

When Belos say it was like the Titan was hiding the glyphs from him, it made me think of the theories that the Titan is trying to talk to Luz. Also, we need a character named Kate Witchlet. Lastly, is that platter Phillip dug up reminding anyone else of Amity's necklace?

The reveal of the pirate skeleton made my brother and I laugh so hard that we had to pause the show for a long time to recover. Such a fascinating character episode. I immediately felt like I should rewatch it when we finished.

Philip uses cunning through manipulative traits to get resources and pseudo through emotional or psychological tactics unto other people for them to get him what he wants in exchange for their lives beings at stake. Although, the fact that he shows no remorse or humility when sacrificing someone in exchange for either knowledge, objects of power, or influence is terrifying. I am curious about Philip and his brothers relationship also what really happened at Eclipse Lake.

OH MY GOODNESS YES!! This was a masterpiece of a episode, I absolutely LOVED this like Lilith is so Adorable I am so happy to see her back I will protect her with my life and the way she punched Belos- I mean Philip was amazing she is a Queen! And we finally saw Eda with her Dad after so many years I was getting kind of emotional because of how upset he was, I also want to protect him as well let's just protect every character (except Belos, Kiki, etc) but the rest yes! I was kind of wishing that Amity went with them just to see her being protective over Luz, also when Lily got grabbed by that creature I really thought she was going to be hurt for some reason I forgot that this was a Disney show (also the way that she said "What did he say")! 🤣😅 Oh and also the way Philip had those glyphs all over his arm at the end, do you think maybe somehow Luz could have that as well because she is also human? I love how the entire episode, we’re watching everyone talk to Eda about her father, and Hooty even says “how’d he get that scar on his-“ and we assume it’s his eye, but Eda feels worse about the damage she did to his hand, because it took away the thing he was passionate about, Palisman carving. Such good writing.

OMG, the glyphes that is on Philip's arm, that may be an "immortality" spell that he created but it's backfiring back on him and taking a huge toll on his body, that's why he needs palismans life energy, to fuel the glyph and keep him alive!

Okay, I admit it, Elijah. You were right and I have to admit publicly; I was wrong. Phillip is Belos after all. This leads me to wonder what happened to his brother and the witch who brought them to the Demon Realm. New hypothesis; Belos/Phillip never built a portal. It was built by the unknown witch, but Phillip is a classic narcissist and rather than say someone else did something he wanted credit for, he avoids saying how he got to the Demon Realm in his journal and makes the portal sound like his project instead. That witch probably hid the portal from Belos which would be why he could not simply build a new portal and also why he did not know the key contained the titan blood he needed. He probably only learned he needed a key at all when he rebuilt the portal after Luz destroyed it. Of course, he probably should have led the attack on the Owl House to get the original key, but then in a battle between Belos and Hooty, my money is on Hooty. I suspect Belos "sacrificed" his own brother early on... Someone else suggested the witch died defending Phillip's brother. This too is likely.
