Another great review Dave, and I agree with the crop on the heather shot, I would have reduced the sky on the misty image but did not see the extreme crop that you saw and that really did make for a great shot. Again very brave of Harrison to submit his images for review and especially with a YT review.

Thanks Dave for the critique. I’ve learned a lot to help me improve going forward, especially when to crop! Can definitely recommend getting your portfolio critiqued to any photographer.

Another great video Dave, and well done to Harrison for submitting the images. There were some amazing shots there, especially the puffin portrait, really loved that one. Some really good learning points again, thanks mate.

Another great review mate! i agree with using the 2nd puffin image being more of an environmental shot, although both were wonderful images. I definitely was thinking the same thing with cropping out some of the heather, that really made it a lovely image. My eye was initially drawn to the brownish areas at the bottom of the original image. That last image with the street signs was fabulous, so many interesting details included. Really a beautiful collection of images Harrison has submitted for your critique. Always some good learnings in these critiques pal. Chat soon P.S. stay away from my images. 😅

Wonderful portfolio Harrison and great as ever Dave in spotting sometimes minor amends / adjustments in some of those images as well as the larger framing issue as with the heather and the misty vista. Framing in camera can be a real challenge when on location as you can be blown away with the scene before you and lose sight of what it is you’re actually shooting so a critique , either self or by another is always a good way to learn and enhance your skills and knowledge 👍🏻

And therein lies the only positive of the ever increasing pixel count of modern cameras….the ability to find the frame hidden within and still have a very usable image

Thanks Michelle. Absolutely, Harrison has a really beautiful collection of images, a tad daunting to critique them as they were a great level already. Hope you and Jim are enjoying life out on the open road.

We are! We have not had much success this year finding 75 degrees though. But, it is warmer than Michigan. :) Hope you are well!@@LetsClickPhotography

A great set of images and some useful critique from yourself Dave. The butterfly one surprised me, I wouldn't have expected anywhere near that depth of field until at least f5.6. And even then I'm usually stacking! Maybe I should check out a short macro lens.

You’re pretty spot on there Robert. Once you do the maths the greater dof coming from a 4/3 sensor at 2.8 is actually equivalent to 5.6 in ff value…..so the f/4 I suggested would equalise to f/8 at 90mm on a ff

@@LetsClickPhotography Ah right, I must have missed that it was a 4/3 sensor. Thanks for the maths! 😊
