Why isn't the ENTIRE David Susskind program featuring Robert Hardy as Winston Churchill available anywhere? I've been trying to locate it for years. I saw it on PBS back when it was made.

Oh for us to have honest and passionate leaders like WC again. A great man who loved his country. None like him anywhere on the planet.

First, thanks for uploading this. Second I would like to use a 36 second cut of the audio from this video for a musical piece I am working on. I noticed the it is Copyrighted 1986 by The Susskind Company. I'm assuming that is David Susskind who died in 1987. Do you own or know who presently owns the copyright? Thanks again.

I know you made inquiries 4 years ago but I have just now found this treasured snippet. I saw the entire recorded play that was televised on KSPS back in the late 80's and have wanted to get my hands on the entire play ever since. Have you had any luck in finding it? It was originally an hour in length.

Gosh! Wonderful! I wonder if he did say that! But the sentiment seems feels like his and at a very opportune moment. It has we know, formed an admirable basis for the NATO countries' alliance. Especially with respect to Sovietism. Sovietism. Sovietism, was Churchill's great fear, second only to Nazism. I read once that he came out with a brilliant (if geeky) joke that, "Hitler wasn't a proper fascist, no, not like Stalin". Terms and meanings can become blurred. The idea that Socialism rewards the idle just as Capitalism rewards the industrious is disingenuous at best and Winston knew this. The former prioritises the social and the latter capital. The clues are in the name. And he knew that. We know that the interpretation of both as expressed here are through the lenses of the (hegemonic) ideas represented in the film (ie immediate post-war West) and those of the time of filming. (I guess-timate that) Winston was so keen that the peoples of the Democracies rally in resistance to Sovietism at that crucial time, that any readily understood argument, water-muddying or not, was absolutely legitimate if it would preserve a climate within which we could consider, debate and decide our own destinies, by ourselves for ourselves.

@YourTubeSpellChecker firstly Churchill was a bit of a Bastard, true- you don't get anywhere if you aren't , But he (2 sources) originally stopped troops going to the south Wales Riots, and when they did , 500 striking and rioting miners & 80 police were injured, one miner died later, the police & Local magistrates had called for the troops, not Churchill, If you have a different source please post a link/title
