A first aid kit made with that design would be great. Also , I can see one of those for pew pew mags. Maybe fixed with Molle.

All too often people want to buy the latest and greatest, myself included. It's good to remind ourselves to really think if we need this or just want it.

You mentioned the filled pouch is a bit chunky. I find most gear pouches a bit chunky because they usually include uselessly thick pocket cover flaps. And, the long flaps for this gear pouch even uses a snap closure to set a maximum size for what you can fill the pouches with.

He could add a belt loop outside in case you wanted it on your belt. Or grommets on each end to hang from your neck during actual use? Keep it out of the snow. Maybe the strap long enough to reverse it and strap it to your leg open during actual use? I'd also go with the pull tab on both pouches. Could a lighter pocket (or flat pocket) added to the flap on the left?

It would be cool to see something like a tourniquet that doubled as the way the whole pouch is secured

The wound has to be kept clean. Best to keep it inside.

Well I mean you should never put a tourniquet directly on an open wound. Always a few inches above it

To bulky for what it holds. A simple zippered pouch would hold more and be a more streamlined configuration. Just MHO. That said, I love new ideas.
