Hi , the Baritone uke is tuned DGBE ( this is standard tuning for a Baritone) , it is the same as the 4 highest strings on a guitar . I did this song on a Tenor uke first ,tuned GCEA ,( I'll put a link to it on here ) . I put my fingers in the same place on both tunings ( so the Baritone is 5 semi tones lower ) and I've put the chords i used in the ( more ...) video descriptions on each . I never learned guitar, so I can't help much. I can only say that, personally, if I had started on guitar, I don't think I would have stuck at it for very long. Those 2 extra strings seem to make it so much more complicated than it needs to be. (for someone like me, happy just to make an OK noise to sing along with). If you have friends who you could borrow ukelele or guitar from and try them both for a week each, you could see which one you're drawn to. Sorry I'm not much help, good luck whichever you go for. 🎶

Yes , I started with a toy soprano 10 years ago ( my wife bought it for a joke ,I think she regrets it now😆 ) . It was literally a toy one , it cost £10 . But as soon as I realized I could actually learn how to play songs , I bought a Concert that sounded great ,then a friend sold me a Fender electro/acoustic Tenor. I think all of my videos up to about 2017 are with concert and Tenors . That's when I discovered the Baritone uke ( I didn't know they existed ) , because they sound a bit more like guitar ,but are still as easy as playing a tenor ,I find I rarely play the GCEA tuned ukes anymore . I have however just strung a Baritone with a high D to try the re entrant tuning aspect,. 👍

that's awesome, i really like the baritone sound and the regular uke sound, they each have their place. smaller uke is great for a quick grab and play. i saw several of yours with the tenor and they sound great, do you still play it?

@@dontommyg hardly ever play the tenor anymore. I keep a bari at work, one in my kitchen, and one in my living room, so even if I'm just making a cup of tea I'll have a quick go. So the Tenor only really gets played by my wife or kids now. 👍

@@kirkwoodley7685 probably going to look for another baritone, something a step up from what i have now, they really sound great and are so versatile

I have added the chords to the description but I'll put em here too. Chorus G.D.A.D6.G.D.A.Esus4. X2 Verse Bm.G.A.F#m7.D6.G.A.Esus4. X2 . I have kept the chord shapes the same as how I learnt the song on a tenor , also the finger picking pattern got watching a video for G.C.E.A. ukes . Have fun giving it a try. 😁
