Let's Add a Regenerating Stamina Bar to Game Builder Garage so Blue Person Doesn't Always Win

Sometimes you Gotta Go Fast. Sometimes you gotta take it easy.
Today we are going over how to set up a working stamina bar with timed recuperation in Game Builder Garage. From hud element to stamina counter, to regeneration logic - we do it all! Make use of the chapters to zip around if you’re already familiar with the set up parts. I mostly wanted to do this because I saw it was something a lot of people were trying to do. I was stuck on using timers for a while before I came up with this.
As long as you have the regen, counter, and Hud all set, it should be really easy to extend this system to single-se use actions/ sprints / and other things in your games.

To help find the position on the free slider, use a joystick through a map (-1,1 to -10,10) connected to a number object and the freeslide x, then y then if needed z. This way you can move to desired position, and get the exact number that corresponds to the location!

So if I want the bar to be a thin line that extends across the top of the screen, how do I go about doing that? I’ve got the bar across the screen, but now it doesn’t completely deplete visually.

@@epicmaster46 extending objects will only fully deplete when low value is a negative amount (have to find that amount and configure your map nodon accordingly. (Example, 0 input should output -0.5 or something similar. See what value works in your situation.)

I think u probably realized it later but, at least for the comparison Nodon u dont need the 0 Constant, 0 is the other number by default. If the counter is goin to hit 0 u can also simply use a NOT

The head is essential because it’s the only nodon that will perfectly follow the cameras origin position. You might be able to use a lot of math and the complex camera nodons and connectors but it will be a big hassle. Are you trying to avoid the head because of complexity, or you need it for something else?

The persons movement inout takes more than just a value of 1. So you can add a calculator that multiples the the 1 signal by 2 before it goes into the person object nodon only when they are mid sprint for example

Hi there! Unfortunately there’s no way to texture the face directly. What you can do, and how I added the sonic fringe in this video is adding a box object to the top of a person, center-Y+. And texturing that box! It will take some working out the tiny details but with patience you might get something you like. For example with this sonic, I created a texture the size of the box and then made the sonic fringe and set it to show up on one of the center axis.

Hi there. The part where we connect the condition to the sprint is at 4:09. If the counter is greater than 0 And you’re pressing the button it lets you sprint.

It’s an expression. I don’t know if or when I’ll have the time to actually do that. It would be very time consuming to re-do all the assets and I might never be able to dedicate the time for that. I’m not sure.

Double check what’s making the counter go up and down. And the way the map and counter are plugged up.

I tried to make one too but the shrine of resurrection was hard the door didn't even open all the way. And I count figure out the runes either. the only runes I did were magnesess and remote bomb the bomb wasn't good tho
