I was able to pre-order Leviathan from my LGS with no problem. Some local game stores started pre-ordering at midnight and sold out within an hour, which had me concerned because I had to wait until 10 AM EDST Saturday for my LGS to start its pre-orders. I was ready at 10 AM, refreshing the page, and when the pre-order button was enabled, I got one and completed my order. My order confirmation email was delivered at 10:01 AM. I might have been fast enough that I’ll receive the free bonus objective markers. I just checked the website and my LGS indicates they have 10+ Leviathan boxes available for pre-order, so it appears they were allocated sufficient Leviathans to meet the demand. It’s unfortunate that some people in other countries have had difficulties ordering Leviathan, but that wasn’t my experience. I’m certain that scalpers tried to buy up as many Leviathans as possible, but I think the only people who will be compelled to pay their ridiculous prices are customers who don’t follow GW releases closely and haven’t pre-ordered from GW or their LGS. From my perspective, GW has provided sufficient supply of Leviathan boxes to meet the demand. Perhaps by the June 24th release date, Leviathans will be sold out everywhere. Or it might take until July or August. But if WH40K customers are late to the party, that’s their fault.

It is 3pm here in Denver and I just went and got the box from their website with no issues at all. I was expecting it to be terrible based on what everyone is saying about the release but nope, it was smooth.

I'm in Sweden and I bought it new at the local book/game-store for $160 in July 2023. I thought that this was good value compared to to smaller kits I usually buy.

I think GW according to my local store manager has made enough Leviathan boxes to last the release period of 2 weeks. Hopefully, they made enough to not sell out online for at least a couple of days 😢

My local GW manager thinks they will be sold out within a few days. I went to preorder today and I was there before opening and there was at least 50 people in line. A guy in front of me purchased 4, said he's gonna resell 3 online I guess and be one of those guys selling the set for 500+$ which I hate the fact people do. But whatever.

As somone who after years of loving the lore, finally got some means to start and army, I am actually happy that these starter kit models are basically "grownup lego" instead of "model building", which removes half of what I am dreading. The other half will be painting; I suck art artistry. At least I can practice on the marines and sell them if needed, I mostly want the Nids out of this. EDIT: I just finished my pruchase. May the heavens have mercy on my soul, painting skills, and wallet. Question though. Do you think, for these it would be better to paint the parts before assembly? In my mind, that should reduce the chance of F'ing up in a massive way, bu...

I ordered one from my (relatively local) online hobby store and then ordered one after waiting on the GW website for an hour - figured I wanted one and didn't want an email from my local shop saying they didn't get as many as they thought. Turns out I now have two boxes - Currently making room for my new Tyranid army. It's a shame I didn't order some of the Forgeworld models before they deleted them from the store.

I thought i had an early pre order locked in, but that must've been based off the pre-allocation estimates because I just got an email this morning that it's being canceled. Just drove to another FLGS who said they were only allocated 5 and had no more pre-orders left. I've been in queue on the GW site for over 2 hours now and my timer still says it's over an hour wait.... This is frustrating.

170 euros here in the Netherlands, Equal to 271 aud or 181 USD. But in England there some website you get them for like 125 pounds that's like 145 euros. Just glad I got one from a LGS.

GW hates anywhere outside of Europe. I can’t believe people are getting this box for 160 bucks. It makes no sense that it’s 250 dollars in the US. Just your average battleforce box costs 230 in the US, 50 more than you are paying for a new edition launch box.

The number I've seen floated around is 337K boxes! A lot of the information in this video was rumour or complete guess work, and thankfully it has aged poorly considering how many people were able to get boxes and how long stock was available for.

@@proxcess4946 with one-hour queues and limits of 1 per order, and them canceling duplicate orders, Im sure stock lasted longer than normal lol. We have shown numbers in the past of how many things they produce and import into the states. I didn't realize how bad it was between GW and retailers. I had gotten an email from my not so LGS about their issue with GW and asked me to declare if I wanted to purchase the 10th edition box set. I was just going to purchase from GW site on launch day but decided to support them instead because of the email. I have pre-ordered mine from my not so LGS and the price was cheaper than I thought. I paid preorder for $215. I'm just not sure how I feel about buying GW stuff now.

Here in Hungary all retail shops ran out of pre-orders in an hour. They sold it between 160-180 USD worth of Hungarian Forints. I had to order it form GW and queued for an hour for 200 EUR

@@MrSilHun That's part of what makes it so sinister from GW, though. The US is one of the largest consumer markets in the world, has the most logistics channels, is the easiest to ship to, etc. It isn't like this for any other products. Which means GW is just price gouging out of thin air. But I do 100% feel for you guys in smaller countries who deal with stuff like this on a whole range of products and services.

I couldn't get from my 3rd party seller minutes after launch. Haven't been able to get any new launch from them for ages (UK based) I'd prefer to use them, and they're cheaper for me! Usually can't get new releases from GW either due to the scalpers. Did get this today though.

I was already on the fence about this box. I wanted it in English and not in Spanish (I live in South America). My FLGS only got a few English copies allocated so I was informed mine would have to be in Spanish, PLUS they only got a couple bonus goodies which I would likely also not get, so that was enough to put me off buying it for now. If stock lingers for a few days/weeks and I see one in English I might get it but for now I am not falling for the hype, thankfully.

My online retailer sold 150 in 15 minutes. They then came up with another 50 that is also all sold. Was able to get mine which is the first preorder I tagged among the last five weeks. GW should just trash the nonfunctional preorder system.

Looked on the GW site and it's over an hour queue for UK/EU. Glad I chose AoS when I came back to the hobby, less scalpers and more stock. I feel sorry for the 40k players who miss out so scalpers can overcharge for them.

Think they have made alot alot more than 75k. Maybe thats just how many the US has. From what iv hear there is over 100k allocated to the uk and europe.

Hmm, maybe this is why GW are reporting a stock issue with this box set - they've sent them all out to KZfaqrs and don't have any left. lol. Oh and this is a whopping $420 in Australia! Will people really buy it at this price and WHY? I could buy a 3D printer AND a wash & cure station for that with 2 litres of resin. Then I'd print some insanely detailed minis that aren't GW. Just sayin'.

Naw they still make some models in China and import them. Most of the terrain kits are this way, and smaller ETB stuff sometimes.

You know what's terrible... I have seen KZfaqrs with less than 10k subscribers getting free boxes leviathan. I saw one I think with like 1500 subscribers which just dumbfounds me on how they even would get GW to send them a copy for free to unbox on there channel. Which of course it isn't these KZfaqrs faults I mean what Warhammer fan wouldn't take a box set or anything that's Warhammer for free? It completely comes down to GW it's 100% there choice and on them. They do that to who knows how many hundred people yet these local shops all over I'm hearing like you said will get 2 boxes yet they're paying for them even if it's at a wholesale price which even then we all know GW is still making more then a buck selling there sets for wholesale price. But they're so selfish that they need to ensure they get full value out of every single box they sell. It all comes down to money. Btw another great video man, been a sub for a long time, you've shown me so much about this hobby and I can't thank you enough. I preordered my copy of Leviathan at my local Warhammer shop today. I just wish GW would be a little more understanding but that probably won't even happen. There's one other shop in town that sells Warhammer models and there expected to now only get 4 boxes the 24th.

The issue with GW is suffering from terrible production figures it must be running under 50%... Just everything is not available ALL THE TIME. Why is Necromunda ZM tiles never available... why is the Boarding action boards a "Different size"... why are their so few release for VOTAAN etc... just wait for *RECORD PROFITS* I mean I can buy a 30cm McFarlane space marine for less than a 28mm Techmarine.

I am confused, is content creators getting the kit doing business with GW or no? Do content creators have to sign some sort of NDA agreement to get these kits? I think its cool content creators get the kits early (although I am jealous that they don't have to sell their kidneys to get kits). But I always wonder what they have to do to get these. Because GW is known to Golden Handcuff people out there with contracts and what not and couldn't imagine them giving free things to channels without some insurance on their side.

I just feel worn out by GW's games. Not the ones that we give them money for. There should never be a shortage of a new edition's box. It's manufactured rarity to create a demand. This feels too familiar because it is. Scalpers are gonna win again. Bet.

@@kkit7540 yes, but the point is that again DW screwed all the private stores . if I can get 20% off , I buy from private stores , I won't pay GW prices , after all , the private stores buy stock from GW , sell it at 20% off and still make a decent profit , I will not be a cash cow for GW , I can't afford it.

Here in the US. I got in the line at 1PM EST and my wait was around 45ish minutes (it said over an hour when I jumped in). After the wait I was sent right in. The starter was easy to find and it took me all of a couple of minutes to get my preorder completed. The wait was annoying, but not deal breaking. On the whole, it went smoothly.
