I'm more and more opposed to raising resolution on platforms. I feel like 1080 is more than adequate for handheld devices. 1440 is perfect for monitors and 4k is more of a TV resolution. Anything beyond that is for photo's and videos so you can crop them to lower resolutions without losing quality. Maybe 8k could be cool for ridiculously big TVs but that is quite a niche market.

Current switch has internal 720p display with 1080p max external but with android or Linux you can get 4k for videos and it's not that bad

@@he8535your eyes will not be able to see a clear difference between Full HD and even 8K unless you are using a big screen like a television or a big monitor. I would much rather they put some upscaling hardware on the dock if they make it a hybird console again that will upscale the games to 4K from 1080p so we can enjoy a smaller and cheaper console that isn't overpowered for what it will be used for

I would take the 1080p option. The screens so small it be more adjacent to 720p, but because its cheaper, 1080p is perfect for a new system.

@@Sothus2It's not as simple as just "moving on" from 1080. Technology literally can't, at least not in any feasible way. Expect to pay upwards of $600 and get a 20 minute battery life. Remember that cooling and battery life are the main issues here.

Don't forget. No stick drift. It can have a cleaning case for the joy cons or even a couple controllers ( joy cons or not). You can never have too many controllers.

@neek4872 no. More than likely, you're looking at 1080 RIGHT NOW on yt. Most phone screens aren't 4k bc they're too small to even see a difference. Physically impossible. That's why making the switch 4k is stupid, you literally can't see it. You could make the specs of the switch offer 4k so you can play it on the dock, though. But even still, plenty of people just don't have 4k screens or even care. So increasing switch specs, and therefore price are a hard bargain for a majority of people that play switch

1080p for handheld is more than enough. Just do the 1440p or 4k for when its docked cause that’s the only time you will notice the higher resolution, when its outputting to a tv. Plus, a 1080p screen will help keep handheld mode battery life still good. Heck, even the Steam Deck caps out at 800p, because again you won’t see any difference beyond 1080p on a small screen plus battery life concerns.

Although Mario kart hasn’t gotten a new game in 10 years, once you beat a 3d Mario game (Mario Odyssey for example) there isn’t much to do when you beat it but Mario kart is always fun and they dropped the dlc for new tracks to continue to play

On such a small screen you wouldn't notice much of a difference between 1080 and 4k. Refresh rate is more important. Not to mention 4k will mean the system will need to render more, therefore reducing battery life and framerate

1. Yes, but make them ergonomic and with Hall effect (no drift) 2. Same size 3. 1080p (1440p upscale) 4. Super Nintendo Switch 5. 3D Mario Other specs: 1. SSD for faster loadings 2. More power and CPU for longer battery life, more games and ability to run big games, such as collections and AAA games 3. Additional fan for faster cooling

i think it's funny that ever since 4K became a thing people act like 1080p is outdated or looks bad when that's completely untrue

4k is good only if it has a REALLY GOOD hardware. Otherwise game will lag in 4k, so you will need to use 720p, but you will still have to pay money for 4k. Its the porblem Lenovo Go and Asus rog ally have.

Screen size on any handled is too small for a 4k display. So it's best to keep it 1080p or 1440p max maybe have hardware that supports 4k/upscaled 4k on output instead.

Mario Kart 9 def not gonna be a launch title, with all the stuff that came out for 8 deluxe, I am positive there’s gonna be another 8 deluxe re-release with all the bonus content and performance/graphical improvements

I swear the standard switch's in-built screen was 720p, also 1080p is still a perfectly viable resolution

I have 3 conditions to even consider giving money to Nintendo for a new console. Retrocompatibility with Switch games, putting ENTIRE FINISHED games on the damn cartridge or disc that won't need fix patches later on, doing something similar to what Sony & Microsoft did with older gen digital games but with NDS/3DS games (without any subscription).
