And to echo what so many others have said: this channel is an excellent fishing channel because it's so peaceful, quiet, captures the actual feel and mood that most of us seek when we hit the water, and the host has a distinct Joy Of Painting approach to his narration. No spazzing out. No dramatic histrionics. Just happy little bass, and pike, and panfish.

Honestly, I just found this channel last weekend and instantly subscribed. The dude's voice could honestly be a part of ASMR therapy. 😂 It's just a chill, realistic fishing channel. Some of these dudes reel in a tiny largemouth start acting like they just won the Powerball and Mega Millions simultaneously. I don't get it. This dude is way more my speed.

I know the feeling. Last summer I had a bass smash a whopper plopper which was my first fish ever on a top water lure. Last year was when I invested in my first bait caster rod and was really my first time experimenting with artificial lures at all really. Ever since then I’ve completely fallen in love with my bait caster and lure fishing in general. Been the most fun I’ve ever had fishing and I’ll probably never go back.

If your missing a bunch on the frog, cut the “legs” so that they’re only an inch or so long. Then take a pair of pliers and bend the hooks about an 1/8 inch off the top of the frog. Your bite to hook up ratio will go way up.
@Sage-vl3so
@Sage-vl3so 11 ай бұрын
@@smelltheglove2038are the legs the little pom pom looking things at the end? I had the same problem yesterday got multiple blow ups, let the fish run with the frog for a solid 4-5 seconds, but couldn’t hook ‘em up. Definitely gonna bend the hooks out a little more that’s a good idea.
@smelltheglove2038
@smelltheglove2038 11 ай бұрын
@@Sage-vl3so yeah, the legs are like the rubber tassels. Some frogs have real legs, I don’t really like that kind. Your problem sounds like you’re just not setting the hook. Pull straight back when you see them take it. Dont pull sideways. You’ll pull it right outta their mouth.

It's great to get into Google Maps and find a new spot covered in water lilies and discover that it's a great spot for bass. This makes me relive my younger years on the Bullaque River. It was a continuous succession of water lily covered backwaters in summer. My father, brother and I would fish from the river bank and use a Boone brand plastic worm rigged with three hooks as a lure. We would move the worm vertically (jigging) into a small hole between the water lilies and a bass would immediately bite. Most of the time we had to get into the water to pull out the fish that got tangled in the vegetation. I remember one occasion when the worm got tangled in a reed suspended about 20 cm above the water. A bass jumped up and caught it! On another occasion I landed two bass that bit the lure at the same time. I also remember it was very effective to run a prop bait along the edge of the lily pads and watch the surface explode as the fish attacked the lure. Nowadays that part of the Bullaque River no longer has water lilies due to diffuse pollution from agricultural herbicides and also the bass have disappeared. A pity. I enjoyed the video a lot. Truly a dream day of fishing that takes me back to those blissful days...

Returned them and bought a couple Booyah Pad crasher and mini pad crashers from WalMart. They worked well, and didn't break the bank either! That frogging set up is really perfect to get the job done! Thanks for sharing. I can't believe that somehow I missed this video when it came out! I am subscribed and get ALL notifications. Oh well. This was actually good timing for me to view this. About time for me to start carrying a frogging rod with me every time I go out now (Sept 12) through the end of November. Thanks for sharing. Nothing quite that bad, I’ve had a few locals comment I’m ruining the spot by posting vids but I generally fish secluded spots where I don’t run into other people often. It’s becoming more common on the rivers I fish, either I’ll run into someone on the water or have someone pull up as I’m loading or unloading my kayak and tell me they enjoy my videos so I guess a few people are doing some detective work on the spots I fish lol. The only time I’ve experienced someone harassing me in person was last summer some guy pulled up as I was getting my kayak unloaded and tried telling me I couldn’t launch off the bridge that runs through his fancy neighborhood.

Have you been enjoying it? I've been considering getting my first kayak as well! 🙂
@ultraSabotaj
@ultraSabotaj 9 ай бұрын
@@doodlesbykeems I have used my kayak, although limited. I think the limited amount of usage has only warmed me up and I don't think I have reached the full enjoyment yet. I like to be on my own so having a small kayak really does fit in with that as it is very transportable by a single person, it does not make any sound on the water so it keeps the tranquility of the environment and its size is just enough for myself and my own stuff. After my first tries the risk of flipping over has been more realistic as I have felt how a kayak moves in the water and reacts to your movements. This should be one of the considerations. If you don't like the idea of this it could be a negative and a boat would be more suited. Because you would always have to be prepared for a flipover in terms of water sealed bags, gear tied down at all times etc. Another consideration is personal as you should have some places in your mind where you can go kayaking. If you don't have a lot of different places to go ask yourself if you are going to get bored after a while using your kayak on the same waters. If you do have a broad range of waters then a kayak instantly turns into an exploring vehicle which is a big plus. I think fishing from a kayak is very niche and therefor very personal. My best suggestion would be to rent one or borrow one from a friend if you can. That will help make a decision.

Enjoy your videos sir! Only fishing 🎣 channel I subscribe to and really look 👀 forward to new videos. I sometimes go back and watch old videos and they excite me just like watching it the first time. Love the pike and musky videos.
