Hi Denise…I am a huge fan of your channel and I learn something from every video! Can you answer a question regarding the LuxLite Cap. When the cap first came out I watched a video with Frank, the head stylist for Raquel Welch. He explained that the silicon at the nape and ear tabs were removable for those who didn’t like them and they were stitched with a loose stitch like a basting stitch for removal with a seam ripper. When I watch reviews it has never been mentioned and I am wondering if I misunderstood. Is it possible for you to clarify this for me please.

Great comparison video! I don’t have the new Lux Lite caps so I can’t comment on the polyurethane pieces…I have an ultra-petite head so I’d probably like the added security it offers. I do have traditional hand-tied caps & hand-tied caps that combine traditional & cluster knotting. I don’t find them to be that different in the way they feel on my head. It’s a personal choice…we’re all different (nothing wrong with that). I would prefer the traditional hand-tied cap but it’s not going to be a deal breaker if I like a style that uses cluster knotting. Cluster knotting is just a less expensive way to make a hand-tied cap.

Hi Denise yes I can see the bigger knots I definitely think they will improve the knots in the lux lite caps in the future and I'll be here for it you know I want the very best natural looking and feeling wigs available. I'm so pleased you did this comparison it's so very helpful 💗

I'm new to wigs, buying the basic caps for now. My first RW wig, Voltage, was an older one, used by the wig shop for an example, sitting on a foam head. When I bought a second one, which they had to order, it was obviously different. Less density, poorer way of laying. Have read multiple complaints about them changing Voltage. I think IMHO, theyre cutting costs in production. I went to her Sparkle and I'm having to buy 3 wigs at a time so one of them is a keeper. So having to pay to return the other 2, so I wait until they're on sale. I'm wondering if changes to wigs are to improve wigs or help them save money in production.

I have three of RW’s Ready for Takeoff with the classic hand tied caps and since I only buy multiples of the ones I love, I’m obviously crazy for these. I ordered one of the new LuxLites in June and it has a long backorder, so it’ll be a while before I can compare. I did want to try a lower density because, even after 5 years or so into my wig journey, the original HT cap still seems like a LOT of hair.

Which one would feel less hot in the summer?

I’m am devastated that I wasted money on a luxe lite cap. I purchased Made you Look and at 22 days it is falling apart. RW will not except return because it’s over 15 days. I’ve worn RW for years and I am so disappointed with their response. I can only speak to the Made You Look style, but they have weft-like bands of hair tied to the cap. I realized this when I was at a function and a friend pointed out that I had a piece of plastic sticking out of the side of my hair. The end of one of the wefts came loose and was sticking out of the hair. By the end of the event another was loose on the side and one on back. I had small plastic strips sticking out of wig, on all sides of my head. I am a very experienced wig wearing and rarely think about my wig. I was so devastated that evening, at a very formal function wondering what will fall off my wig next. I’m just trying to inform everyone these caps are very different; so buyer beware. Also, their answer to these issues was ‘be sure to use a wide tooth comb’ and ‘try using a small needle and thread to repair’! A completely unacceptable answer to a $300 wig that started coming apart on the second wear. My brother-in-law always says don’t buy the first issue new model of a car, let them work out the kinks. Guess the same could be said for wigs. I would happily include pictures but I don’t think that’s supported in comments

What wig would you recommend for someone that likes to wear their hair up all the time? I have Ellen W in Ocean and when l try to do an updo, it looks great from the front but the side view is awful and bulky especially from the top view. I have thinned her out and it still looks the same. I have the same problem with ROP zuma. Please help. Also l have a petite head. Thanks😊

Thank you for this comparison! Do you find that the new Luxe Lite caps fit smaller than the other RW hand-tied caps, since they are labeled as petite/average? Specifically, in the crown area (front-to-nape measurement)? My head dimensions are similar to yours, and I found that I had a lot of extra cap in the crown and top sides in my Upstage even though the circumference was relatively snug.

What color in RW is similar or close to Henry Margu 8/27/33 or Noriko Maple Sugar R. I cant seem to find a color in RW I like. I have Cafe Latte - its a bit ashy. SS Cappuccino- is very cool to me. Any suggestions?? SS Hazelnut - darker then want I want at age 61. Thanks from Texas.

Can you add onto the video and show how each look on your head? Great review otherwise. I'm trying to figure out what high end wig to buy. I've been getting the cheaper Amazon wigs. I know, I'll never go out with my natural hair again. Even the cheap ones look so much better than my natural thin/ balding hair.
