Let's Do Some Cooking | Freezer & Pantry Meals For Busy Days

Scalloped Potato Sauce Mix
1 C. Flour
1 C. Cornstarch
2 C. Powdered Milk
3 Tbsp. Dried Chives or Parsley flakes
1/4 C. Onion Flakes
1 Tbsp. Onion Powder
1 tsp. Garlic Powder
2 tsp. Mustard Powder
4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. Pepper
1/8 tsp. Cayenne Pepper
To Use: Whisk 1/2 cup mix with 2 3/4 cups of boiling water and 2 tablespoons of butter in a 9 x 13 baking dish. Add 3 cups of dehydrated potato slices, pushing them down under the sauce. Cover and bake for 30 minutes at 350°. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.

2 C. Shredded Cheese, Divided
3/4 C. Milk
1tsp. Each, Onion Powder, Italian Seasoning & Cumin
2 tsp. Chili Powder
1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder

Right? If you were a person who had never cooked and you watched some of these online cooks, you would play the guessing game and pour every ingredient into your palm ✋ let’s say your ingredient is Cayenne… the recipe might call for 1/8t. for a little kick. Since you are using your palm, you might end up with something closer to 1T. And you have just given your dish and guests an @$$ Whoopin!!! Lol so yes, I appreciate that Renea measures properly also!!

Good morning! That was Gladys Kravitz on Bewitched. I love that show! I have thought many times that you need some larger measuring cups & liked to see you used one today. I've always used my large ones for bread especially. I have several from 4 to 14 cups & would feel lost without them! I love watching Mr. Wayna taste things. When my Daddy tries something he always says it tastes more-ish, or it's awful & he better eat it all so no one else has to!

Isn’t she a joy to watch? I love her, she’s so honest, down to earth, and not putting on airs or acting better than anyone else. She reminds me of my late mother (except Renea is substantially younger than my mom would be)-she effortlessly cooks like it’s nothing and is generous without even realizing how generous she actually is. Renea is almost therapeutic to me quite often, she’s just such a genuinely good person and a pleasure to watch her relaxed and welcoming personality.

Wow!!! How many of us remember Gladys Kravits from Bewitched???!!! Too funny! We must be close to the same age. I have a sweet friend having her first baby in about 3 weeks and am putting together some freezer meals for her and her husband to have postpartum. This one is going to be perfect for them. You could use a parm cheese lid on the jar, and you'll have a shaker top. Cut the top off a salt can and it fits with a jar ring for a spout.

I would love a day in the kitchen with you. I wish I could get 25lbs of potato slices! for $99 on Amazon they give you 5lbs! I would prep in bulk like this without fail if I had access to these ingredients at your cost. I love watching you bulk prep! My challenge is doing salt-free. My thyroid fails if I take sodium in its a real problem. So I eat salt-free. I use toms of herbs and spices but no salt. Pre bought anything is a no go for me. I have to do scratch cooking only.

It is the powdered milk that will go bad after about 8 months. So I always recommend keeping it in the pantry 6-8 months, however, you could store it in the freezer for a very long time.

I am tall and let me tell you I wish I was short! EVERY counter in the world is designed for short women. My back KILLS me by the time I'm done cooking from bending over! And...your hubby❤.
