@@IONATVS That only applies to large burns under hospital treatment, where you have continuous immersion under flowing water over several hours. For immediate treatment of first degree burns at home, a quick dip in a ice-bath until the pain goes away is ideal to stop the formation of shock proteins, reduce blistering, and reduce the overall damage. I once got to handle a sword longer than I am tall. The smith claimed it was an exact copy of a museum piece he'd gotten permission to take out of its case and measure carefully at multiple points up and down its length. It looked like way too much steel for someone of my size and strength to swing... But it was so amazingly well balanced that I could wave it about (though not at fighting speed) one-handed! Using both hands, the only problem I had was that I was standing on level ground instead of atop a castle wall or something where the length would be an advantage instead of making the tip more likely to dig the turf. (Well the other problem is that I'm not good at two-handed technique -- but I could swing it amazingly easily.) So ... I too love historically accurate swords, including ones far above my budget.

When swung it will cause all those swords to swing between the player character and the mouse, making it a super-powerful ranged sword. Think you mean the Terra Blade, which is the best 1.3 sword.

Honestly, the beard suits you so well I legitimately didn't really think anything of it or make any particular notice of it until you brought it up. People tend to take that sort of thing as offensive because it means you don't notice... them... groomed up? But really it's a compliment in that it fits and suits them well enough that it doesn't draw any attention away from them and stand out, but instead works along with their overall looks. So... Yea, keep it if you like it. It's a good beard lol.

That might or might not be enough ... I do not know that particular sword, but a lot of wall-hangers don't have a proper tang, but rather a length of threaded rod spot-welded to the blade, with the pommel screwing onto it. Bash them around a bit and the spot-weld will fail and the blade will cleanly separate from the hilt. Again, I don't know that particular model, but in general fixing up a wall-hanger to be functional will take more than just grinding excess meta away.

The steel by itself could also be a problem. Because the swords purpose is to rest on a wall and not to be wielded, there would be no need to use a high quality steel. I own a wallhanger myself and the blade is extremely wobbly and even if I grind the sh!t out of it, it would never be a good cutter. The only technique I could imagine that might work would be the murder stroke and unscrewing the pommel 😁 The steel could also be too hard which may cause it to break and that can be really dangerous for the person who wields it (and potential bystanders). Nontheless the conclusion can only be to never use a wallhanger for cutting!

I would like to see you do the Legend of Zelda's Master Sword one day for these redesign challenges. Because the biggest complaint I usually see about the sword is the hilt being way to bulky, but the winged crossguard is still a very distinctive and cool look and I'm curious how it could be made to work in a functional sword.

given the time period Arthurian myth is set probably not. the must wield with 2 hands would probably be noted down somewhere. that said the scabard healing would make a shield unecessary even with period accurate armour.

@@TGPDrunknHick Bear in mind that Caliburn in many tales was forged by Weyland, who was known for forging weapons and armor far more effective than anything else available. There's always a chance the weapons were legendary specifically because they were ahead of their time.

As far as I know the legend (and being a legend there are probably millions of versions to it) the sword was provided by the lady of the lake, but not to Arthur, but to and advisor (in most versions: Merlin, though I wouldn't specify him as the mage from the isle of shadows, Avalon) who put it into the stone "for only the true king of England to retrieve it".

They'd have ended that Death Star rightly and right fast. Just have their X-Wing fighters fire off Pommel of Mass Destruction torpedoes at the Death Star and it would go BOOM, no need to do the Begger's Canyon run down the trench, no need to fire off a thread the needle shot into a hole barely bigger then the torpedoes they used in the movie. I don't have a physical copy, just the audio book, but I heartily recommend it. Be prepared to read the word "bonds" a lot though.
