You are a pathetic little man, pease don't ever write again. "Strangely, it was the women who didn't have any children by him that seemed to despise him more than the others. To them, Daylen had truly ruined their lives, many not ever finding marriage, and a few still bearing deep psychological pain" I don't care if it's fiction, that should no fly, there no reason for that to be in your book, there are some wrtiers that have the ability to put horrible things in paper and have artistic merith, either you are not one of them, thus a very bad writer, or you are a horrible person

The easiest head canon to solve this is the magnetic field has a length limit. So, you can have a double-bladed lightsaber because there are 2 crystals, but each blade is a standard length so normal sized field holding in the plasma. In 1 direction with double length the field fails, and the energy can't be formed into a blade. Edit: just read 2 comments down and apparently this already existed pre-Disney, ha!

Warwick is my home town, I grew up on a housing estate called the Forbes Estate which is a 2 minutes walk from the Castle. When I was a kid, (70/80s) my mates and I used to play in the castle grounds, until security saw us and chased us out, lol. It has certainly changed since then. It is a great castle to visit, if you're into castles that is.

Anectdotally, I have sparred an experienced opponent wielding a zweihander with rapier + dagger, and won 60-70% of the time because I was able to bind and close the distance. Ive had much more success sparring against non-polearm weapons. Rapier and dagger is OP and would certainly be S tier for duelling or self defense but probably A tier for battlefield

I was going to recommend Warwick Castle in your Caenarfon video but assumed you'd have already ended your trip by then. I live very close by and my friend got married in the Great Hall. Im wondering of you checked out Kenilworth Castle just a few miles away? It was built in the 1200s, had a huge moat, was the site of one of the longest sieges in British History, was expanded upon for years up until the 1500s where Lizzie 1 used to party there. In the Civil War it was slighted (scuppered) to stop it being used as a stronghold. IIRC it was royalist very close the the parliamentarian Warwick

Swords are awesome! Im thinking of getting a propper blade, either eastern or western. Thank u guys for doing this. Every blade has its strengths and weaknesses. Its like guns and the ammo they use. Right tool for the right job! "What do u want to do with ur blade?" is the most important question to ask urself before buying.

As a Czech, it is offensive to me to refer to Karlštejn as a Germanic castle in a Germanic region. The Bohemian Kingdom was a part of the HRE but had full independence confirmed by the golden bull of Sicily and then by the golden bull of Charles IV. who called himself a Czech and was closest to the Czech nation. The architect was not even a German, but a Frenchman, and the castle acquired its current form at the end of the 19th century, when it was reconstructed by a Czech architect

A weird concept I think we can all contextualize but maybe can't quite understand is in a Amy imagine being the first people to try to breach a gatehouse. Not first in history but I mean in a given battle. Your charging forward. The survival odds of the first 50+ or so people to attack though a gate house have to be zero right? lol Your basically hoping that you take an arrow to the knee and can crawl away and survive etc. How do those people gain the motivation? I would refuse. Be like oh if I don't attack you will kill me? Commander be like yes. I guess I might as well be better off attacking my own commander if that's the case. I know ultimately this is not quite how it goes. People have reasons why they go to war and other motivations that can even surpass the fear of death. But yes I can't help but to imagine or think the front line sucks in just about any type of attack or war. Gorilla type combat or with proper defenses etc. You can be fine. Like being front line in castle defence manning the murder holes etc... you are at an increases risk since your manning the first positions the attacking force will come up against but you actually have a decent chance of living. But if your charging a gate house or scaling a castle wall and your one of the first... you basically dead almost no matter what.

In my honest opinion and personal views bows in general are superior to muskets in terms of more as skirmishers or in wooded environments such as a forest being that bows deals less damage than say a musket but is superior in terms of rate of as well as mobility vs a musket which has a much higher damage output, however its rate of fire is atrocious when compared to the bow that being however unlike bows muskets are stupidly easy to learn, wield and operate, granted a conscript vs a trained soldier isn’t going to be as effective or efficient compared to a trained soldier, however even a novice could easily use and operate a musket which is why things like crossbows were extremely popular before guns came along and that’s because unlike a bow and arrow which requires years of both training and experience to build up the right posture, muscles as well as skills to effectively and efficiently use a war bow which was why the British or to be more accurate when king Henry the viii banned football in order for people to get more archery training in which in turn resulted in events like the battle of crecy where the British destroyed the French army and especially the French cavalry since as anyone who’s owned a horse a horse is bloody expensive which was why cavalry was considered for the elites or wealthy all the while the filthy peasants were given a pitch fork and the blessings of god by a priest and told best of luck, (not entirely true but it’s close enough to get the point across) and since guns were let’s be completely and utterly honest were revolutionized in Europe (even if the Chinese were the first to invent guns the most they did with them was to blow each other up or make fireworks vs Europe who used them on mass and so Europe is the true pioneer of the gun in my books) and since unlike most other countries, Europe had several things that made guns the ideal weapon for war. Firstly lots of annoying neighbors Secondly bows were expensive and difficult to build and maintain, requiring lots of different skills and laborers to produce just a single arrow, vs a musket which needs a gunsmith, as well as someone to make the powder and someone who can basically cast lead musket balls, that being said muskets or to be more accurate hand cannons weren’t as popular as the larger cannons and unlike most other countries possibly outside of Africa Europe is incredibly flat or at the very least level meaning that huge castles and fortifications can be built along with an abundance of resources along with little to no hostile environments as well as no big or dangerous predators (outing of a Frenchman in a back alley 😂) and so that allowed Europe to make use of much larger and heavier siege weapons such as the trebuchet or catapults as well as other larger siege engines which is again due to Europe being relatively flat and open, in turn allowing for the vast movements of much larger armies as well as their supply trains which in turn resulted in castles and cities to get much larger and more stronger and yet ironically more thinner, since unlike say Asian castles which tends to be more flatter and squatter compared to the much taller and skinnier castles found in Europe and that’s simply because Europe doesn’t suffer from earthquakes unlike places like Japan, where most of their castles are made from wood and any stone structures tend to be at the very least two stories tall and any standing walls are just above head height however since most Asian castles are built in primarily mountainous environments, the abilities to either effect or build the much larger and heavier siege engines from Europe where again many army’s simply carried the tools and their equipment and that’s it since armies were required to travel long distances, being forged to lug around a massive catapult or god forbid a trebuchet then your army would be slowed down to a crawl, however many armies simply carried axes, saws and the necessary tools and equipment to build the siege weapons where they were or as close as possible rather than having to carry that stuff around and whilst a catapult might pack a punch, it’s not really that efficient to constantly be having a trailing army of engineers and builders spending most of their time to build the siege equipment rather than working on their defenses and since many castles had massive and very thick walls meant that in turn they’d have to build a much larger and more powerful trebuchet but even then that has it’s limitations, the introduction of the cannon revolutionized European warfare like never before, because cannons which yes are heavy but the also posses wheels which makes them easier and lighter to move around and since you’re most likely going to be hauling the thing across the plains of Europe and not up and down the mountains of Asia, cannons in the European theatre were able to become more mobile and more offensive rather than the more stagnant and stationary weapons of the Chinese and again that’s not to say they didn’t have cannons, because they did make and use cannons to some extent including in some siege battles, being light in design and simple in their construction being used in sieges wherever a road was possible much like their European counterparts however unlike the European front where you tend to see much larger and heavier cannons again boiled down to their overall practicality as well as access to available resources, again look at places like the Middle East or Africa where they unfortunately lack any or much in the ways of basic resources ie water, iron, coal and so on, whilst being very very rich in things like gold, copper, diamonds and especially OIL, which is why those countries are the richest countries in the world despite having the poorest populations which again due to the fact that unlike places like Europe or America they lacked much of the necessary resources to progress or develop and that’s not to say they weren’t undeveloped or anything by that but what I’m sayin is that they were limited in what they had access to again look Egyptian Khopesh which was made mostly out of bronze since bronze was the most common available resource in Egypt and again it’s not the rule or the standard since there are plenty of but most of it was imported, again Europe’s flat environment mixed in with a vast mineral wealth along with a healthy dose of constant warfare allowed the Europeans to develop and progress much faster than the rest of the worlds since culturally speaking Europeans had little to no qualms in how they were killing each other vs say the more traditionalistic nature of the Asians such as the Chinese who used guns but valued their traditional swords rather that the most efficient way of killing your enemy, which in turn lead to much faster development and evolution which in turn lead to things like industrialization which in turn meant that Europeans were able to simply outproduce items much faster than any other area in the world and it was all thanks to child laborers😂, but in reality though it was through Europes industrialization as well as their advancements in metal technology and mass production allowed Europeans to not only arm and equipment much larger numbers of soldiers but because the manufacturing of guns gotten better and better long with increased firepower as well as accuracy 😂, meant that rather than keeping a large standing army of trained archers with bows and arrows who have to constantly be training, weapons like the crossbow were also very popular due to their ease of handling, but much like bow and arrows were both expensive and time consuming and since hand cannons were becoming more and more frequent along with improvements to its production meant that rather than lugging around a barrel full of arrows, you can get twice as many shots off with a gun that you would with an arrow before needing to resupply, where after a battle you’d simply go around and collecting the dead, dying or wounded along with any bits of equipment and since most arrows would snap or splinter the necessity of reclaiming old arrows only to be thrown into a fire vs recovering a dead person’s powder flask and satchel of of balls which again is why you don’t see people collecting brass casings after a battle, until recently but even then in a more modern sense, you’re not going to try and pull out a bullet from a dead person or friend, instead you’ll grab his ammo and move on and so the need to recycle or recover destroyed arrows became less and less important vs simply taking the ammunition from a dead friend which they could carry more of than a quiver of arrows or bolts, not to mention that cannons can be easily transported, packs a much heavier punch than a catapult or trebuchet and doesn’t need an entire second army of engineers and mechanics to build them a siege engine which they’ll have to destroy after a battle and use the parts for fire wood or anything else compared to a horse drawn six pounder cannon which can be moved by one or two horses, Carrie’s ten cannonballs as well as ten canisters along with another cart carrying the extra ammunition over again relatively flat or level ground and even some of the larger siege engines could be moved easily enough if not a pain in the ass but still doable vs having to drag a massive mortar up the side of a mountain top in Asia only to then have to drag the thing back down the mountain just to get a little bit closer.

I lived in a town called Bishops Castle. Our civil war history literally has one side holed up in the (now basically vanished - there’s one wall you can see) castle at the top of the town, and the other side in the church at the bottom, you can tell in part because the stained glass windows have all been smashed out/removed from the windows that face up into the town. Local history of the U.K. is absolutely amazing and fascinating for the little details it reveals.
